1500+ Prisoners Doing The Thriller Dance

written by John Chow on July 28th, 2007

Remember that Wedding Thriller Dance video I posted back in January? Well, here’s another one featuring over 1,500 Filipino prisoners. That’s right, every dancer is an inmate of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Cebu, Philippines. I wonder if making them do the dance was a punishment or a reward?

Yes they are real inmates! I’m from the Philippines, the prison director asked them to do it as part of their daily exercise, it just shows that though they are inmates, they are still humans that can be disciplined.

I saw it first here on Johnchow dot com and then recognised it when it was showed on
TV prime time news too, here in France. The presentator said that it was seen 2,000,000+ times. That’s a viral social video. Web 2.0.

They are all not bad. Some are jailed even if they are innocent. If you have the money, it’s hard to put you in jail. Cebu, Phils.

i’m sure you haven’t read the full story

it’s actually a pretty effective scheme in terms of improving the inmates behavior

2 of the inmates have become dancers after getting out

if you know it all, you’d agree that it’s pretty cool

Looks like prison is a lot of fun!

I mean aside from the daily anal rapings and dungeons…. and did you see that girl??? she was hot!

Perhaps the Phillipines will be the new model of rehabilitation….

Hmm not really something I would expect from inmates.

Were they promised some kind of reward if they performed this dance?

a video a day said on July 29th, 2007 at 7:04 pm

no, it’s compulsory to do the dance routine, and it’s had some good effect on the prisoners

Question is, did he voluntary dress the role, or was that his punishment for something? :?:

I had seen this before reaching this entry, but I just thought that I would let you know that this video was on Best Week Ever this week also! I feel bad for the guy who had to play the woman in the video. I can imagine it got some of the prisoners feeling frisky.
