I guess Porsche couldn’t keep the lid on the new 2008 911 GT2 any longer after the official brochure was leaked to the press last Thursday.
Since the information was now out in the open, the German automaker decided to post the first official images of the most powerful 911 in the company’s history. The specs are enough to make even the strongest man weak in the knee.
- 3.6-liter twin turbo flat six
- 530 horsepower at 5,600 rpm
- 505 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,200 to 4,500 rpm
- 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds
- 0-100 mph in 7.1 seconds
- Top speed of 204 mph
- Curb weight: 3,175 lbs
- Titanium exhaust
- 6-speed manual gearbox
- Launch control system
Expect to pay $150,000 to $180,000 for this engineering masterpiece. Here’s a few more photos. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to head over to MCL Motor Cars and put a deposit down.

I suspect is is JC or is it Michael Night? All he talk about these days, cars! cars!! cars!!!
About time I say, need a break from making so much money.
Now we need more food, party posts. Come on John.
yeah. Good luck on the deposit. Since you pretty much rich. Do you haggle the salesman as well? or is that taboo for high end cars?
Money spent is money spent, and the rich are some of the most conservative money spenders ever, and that’s why they stay rich! So if he can I know John will look for a deal versus just asking what is the MSRP.
I say SPENDING money is just as important to talk about as making it. Haha
Its Michael Knight. Sorry, I’ll have to confiscate your Members Only jacket for that faux pau.
Ain’t nothing wrong with talking about cars. especially when they are real cars and not some of those sort of one-off made for show eye candy models that will go fast .. but for how long?
The 911 has been around for more than 30 years and Porsche has evolved it very gracefully. Not only will this car go like stink, it will take you to th supermarket and home with the groceries without breaking down … it’s intelligently designed and built to deliver value.
In the late ‘80 I had a part-time job moving cars from an east coast port to their owners in the US who had had them shipped from overseas. One day my boss handed me the packet of papers to pick up a 911 from Port Newark and take it to the owner in Pennsylvania.
I thought the 911 was like some of the other tiny-motored gutless Porsches that were basically high-end VW’s back then.
As soon as I hit the ‘Jersey Turnpike and saw 120 mph at less that 4,000 rpm in _3rd_ gear I immediately lifted both my foot and my opinion of the 911’s.
Auto on, John, whenever you want and if you don’t buy6 one of these with your income, you don’t know a good bargain .. $150K is a cheap for something this good.
It’s a nice car, yes, and for the performance, the price is very good. The only thing with Porsches is their design. I like their design, but they’re all too similar for far too many years. If you compare it to like Ferraris or Lambo, all of them have evolved significantly from say 10 years ago. But Porsche keeps their design very similar year after year without much change. For some Porsche purists they might like it, but I’d like to see something different for once.

Very sporty and nice car…!!!
I like it….
Lets see you doing a Give-Away contest for THAT
LOL, don’t hold your breath for THAT one! That’s a whole lotts ads that need to be clicked! Either that or jack up the price for the ReviewMe posts to $2000.
Even if Porsche decides to give it John as a promotional give-away, he’s probably going to give it to HIMSELF first. Kinda like an early 2008 Christmas present.
Now that is a beauty. John, buy me one pleeeeaaaasssseee!
Wow… Must feel like quite a pilot in that cockpit photo. Awesome car obviously not a good family car but if you’re fortunate enough to be able to afford “toys” in that price range you’re a lucky person!
That’s definitely a dashboard I wouldn’t mind looking at (or owning).
Not quite the most powerful (road) porsche - the Carrera GT had over 600BHP and could do 0-60 in under 3.5 secs.
I’m a big porsche lover - getting a Cayman S in September and I can’t wait! I drove a 911 Carrera around Goodwood last Friday which was brilliant.
You bastard!
wow~~~~
it’s nice car
goooooooood~~~
Pretty hot. I have a few issues with the styling, but its not like I’ll be owning one anytime soon.
Hey if you really want one, I believe you can get one. think big, it really changes things!
Great car! But this price…
Not too much for some “Bloggers”
Now that would be a nice prize for a Make Money Online Giveaway
Definitely. I would not mind winning a Porsche. Or a car at all for that matter.
I’d definitely take a 2nd hand car if John gave it away on here.
Yes The price isn’t good for poor bloggers like us. But John Chow

Nice car!
Porsche are really good cars.
Wow, that’s beautiful.
Are you really getting one?
One Man. One Year. $100,000 online.

that torque is spread over a heck of a wide RPM range. I’m impressed!
Impresive car
Thanks John…this is a great natural testosterone booster. Just what I needed for my workout this morning.
Best,
Coop
OMG … I just wet my self … excuse me while I go change my pants!

Beautiful car! A little out of my budget though.
Most cars are a little out of my budget, too.
yeah All cars are out of my budget!
===>> Just FYI buddies:
A Porsche Entry Level Boxter(non S-model)in Singapore will already cost you ridiculously $150K-$180K too !
!
So John, if I have this Budget($150K-$180K) should I go for Boxter , Cayman or Maserati Cabrio
For some reason I am a big porsche fan
You think that it’s bad or you can’t believe it yourself?
Nice..I am a big fan of porsche…at least porsche is somewhat reliable than Ferrari and their value is no dropping much.
I’m partial to Lamborghini and Ferrari myself, but I would like to own a Porsche too! Those specs are amazing, I would love to test drive one myself.
i dont like the porsche! they aint as attractive as the lambo’s and Ferraris
Cool just need to have it in yellow and change it to a right hand drive.
That looks fancy.
If anyone in malaysia can buy this car he must be a super rich person. Why? because malaysia Imposed 200% import tax to foreign car lols!
Almost as attractive as Jessica Alba.
In our town (Kiev) we conducted the test-drive of such Porshe, but also not able to accelerated him to maximum speed!
simply beast!
For those which are complaining about Porsche’s Design:
Porsche designers are no uber-hyper-futuristic designers. They are simply classy. And that’s what their buyers want. This is another form of corporate identity.
Damn, John, if you buy this car. Damn, you’ll be DAMN lucky. I’ve driven a Cayman for some days and those were my happiest times on the road. Now I dont wanna even think about an 911 GT2.
But anyway, I Think the big booty is negative for the whole appearance and design line.
OMG! I want one…
I don’t need one as much as I want one…
I would love to drive one. I think the driver feels like flying.
