The last session I attended at Affiliate Summit East was the How Bloggers Can Successfully Connect with Audiences panel. This session offered advice and tips for bloggers to increase their success in connecting with audiences and at the same time making them more appealing to advertisers and increase revenue.

Because is was among the last sessions of Affiliate Summit, attendance was pretty low. That was too bad because the panel shared some really good information with the attendees. The panel was made up of:

Kris asked the panelists questions for the first 40 minutes. Then turned it over to the audience for questions. I asked my followers on Twitter for some really tough questions I could ask the panel. The number one question I got back was, “Why are you not on the panel?”

Yeah I was surprised to not see you or Zac on the panel, I don't know who those guys are, perhaps I will follow them on twitter now!

Definitely a shame that so many people missed this panel. I can see all the empty seats :)

I wonder how the rest of the conference was? Was it well attended John? I know it was a while back, just thinking for future possibilities in attending...

It was a great session, came back with a lot of valuable info. I don't think you can bring bottles of beer up with you though if you're on the panel. You looked quite comfortable in your front row seat;)

Can't wait to see you speak at the next Affiliate Summit!

Looks like a great panel and very informative, can you share anything from it?

Can you share some good points from that session, John? Attention-grabbing is like the most important factor to consider when starting any kind of business.

Great! I could learn more on how to connect the Audience in blog.

Looking forward to the video...

This seemed like a really great panel...any way you can share some of the main points taken from it John?

Great to see you again John, it would be good to have you on the panel next time.

Yes we all want that.

Murray did you like Pizza ?

Which one was your favourite one ?

John,
Thanks for coming to this panel. I think that you really add something to the session with the questions that you asked and engaging your audience. Your coverage of ASE10 was also fantastic, so many places at once and so much content. You are a machine. I'm always so impressed with how hard you work making not only posts but videos and other fun things for people to enjoy.

I saw the title of this post and got excited because I thought I was going to learn something valuable :P

Yes but it is such a big subject and anyway you can learn all you need to know at this blog can't you? ;-)

@ D3so

If you want to learn than you should attend that event.

Yeah but NYC is on the other side of the country.
I have a better chance of attending ASW or any event here in california or around.

Do you have the video for this session? It would be interesting if you posted it here somewhere.

I was hoping to see some vid action too..but not sure if they let you film anything in there...they might force people to go in order to get the info...not sure though.

I was at SES San Francisco this week and the most helpful session was the one on blogging and feeds. It's funny because there were few people in the audience compared to some of the other sessions!

And how was SES? Will you be writing about it anywhere...synthesizing all the good tips?

Maybe we can get you to speak at the next Affiliate Summit in Vegas, John!

What do you say?

I would like to see that! That would be cool!

I'd like to see that too! Actually...let's see how many speakers from Vancouver we can get at the next Affiliate Summit;)

From the videos I have seen on this summit it looked like you had a lot of fun.

My aim is to attend this summit next year and meeting all these successful people.

If it is only your aim you might not hit the target - make it a goal as goals are bigger ;-)

I heard for many affiliate networks now, it's only 2 or 3 affiliates that are really carrying most networks now. That shows you how much affiliate marketing has changed.

I would have also liked to see you as a speaker or someone on a panel answering questions.

You know what works when it comes to building a successful blog and many people would really like to hear from you on how to do it for themselves.

I will be on two panels at Blog World Expo in Las Vegas.

That looks like its going to be an interesting event!

I want to get to the point where I can regularly go to different events like these. That would be awesome!

I think its cool how you can just travel to all these different places and network with all the different intelligent people in this industry.

Hey John,

Good reporting and bringing the Affiliate Summit East to your readers.

It's been great to participate through your on location timely posts.

I hope that you'll be doing this even when you are on two panels in Vegas.

Vance

Yes that event will be big one ... lets see

He does do a good job with the reporting!

I really like watching him give people a hard time. LOL!

Yes reporting was simply great and refreshing with John's sense of humour ...

I need to research that a big...I've only been to ASW a couple of years. BWE might be a useful event to go to.

Interesting! I wonder why John wasn't on the panel!! hahah ;)

Yeah, I was wondering the exact same thing! John wrote the book when it comes to blogging!

What so funny about it ?

Well, the comments on this post have been about the same question so far..."why weren't you on it John?"

Hopefully this gets more interesting as I scroll down :-)

Yea, why weren't you on the panel?

Would love to know the answer of this question ... please.

Same here. I would like to know the answer too. John is among the most popular bloggers.

Maybe he just declined the offer!

It was an interesting question and would be a lot more interesting if you tell us John.

Maybe they did not want him throwing rockets from the top table? :P

Like your sense of humour ....

John is now expert in throwing rockets.

If John was on the panel for everything, he'd never be able to learn anything :)

The couldn't afford to pay him to present, too expensive! :)

Neah ... John wont charge that much ... because he is always ready to help new people.

I'm sure John is too big time now :-P
