2010 Affiliate Summit East Meet Market

The 2010 Affiliate Summit East kicked off with the Affiliate Meet Market. The meet market is the place where affiliate marketers can talk face to face with the affiliate managers. It’s also the place where you can pick up tons of free stuff. In fact, it’s more of a challenge to see how little free stuff you can get because every table is trying to give you stuff.

According to the ASE founders, the 2010 Affiliate Summit East is the biggest one to date. Unlike a lot of the economy, affiliate marketing is one of the few industries that has continued to experience rapid growth during the recession. The meet market was packed with people and it was quite hard to just move around.

Tonight, there are at least four parties happening. I haven’t decided on which ones I’ll be attending yet. Covering the Summit is a tough job but it’s something I’m willing to do for you guys. And you don’t even have to thank me for it! 🙂

  1. Looks like a cool place.

    1. Yeah it does look pretty cool. And John thanks a lot for covering the summit for us.

      1. John we would love to see your luggage when you fly back to Vancouver from Affiliate summit …

Full of free things and stuff …

  2. Baker says:

Thats cool how they give you all that free stuff, and you get to network face to face with the actual people behind the affiliates.

    1. Hey John,

I didn’t realize you were already there. I thought you were leaving tomorrow.

I do want to thank you for providing the Summit coverage.

It’s great and I’m grateful for it. Now I’ll go to watch the video one more time.

      1. John Chow says:

I flew out on Saturday night at 10:50PM. Landed Sunday at 7AM New York time.

        1. It sounds like you got no sleep. I don’t think that you’re so wicked. They say no sleep for the wicked.

I hope you can make up for the lost sleep soon.

  3. Meet market or meat market 😉 ? SY

    1. John Chow says:

      That is a good question!

      1. d3so says:

It depends on what you’re refferring to.
It doesn’t look like a total sausage fest.

        1. No it’s more like a free T-shirt fest. Everybody seems to be happy in the video.

          1. Bidet says:

Haha yea so much free stuff to give away, all those T-shirts and laptop cases.

          1. d3so says:

LMAO! I’d be down for a free-tee buffet.

      2. Did you meet anyone super exciting at the market or just talk to old friends?

  4. Jason says:

Sounds like a great opportunity to network with other affiliate marketers!

Thanks for the inside look at what is going on at Affiliate Summit.

    1. d3so says:

Yea, I’m making it a goal to go to affiliate summit next year.

  5. Snowball says:

Sounds like a blast! What kind of free stuff are you getting? Maybe post pictures of some of that!

  6. steve says:

Nice. Cant get to any of these without travelling 20 hours 🙁 I think thats my affiliate manager in the nev blue picture!

    1. Hi Steve
So what’s the secret on how to get into Neverblue? Like me, you are obviously not from the US, so the reason for turning me down presumably wasn’t xenophobia. You’ll find my sad story a little lower down if the moderator passes it.

  7. earningstep says:

not as big as last year i think… am i true ?

  8. PPC Ian says:

Looks like an awesome event! What a great way to network. I’m a huge fan of networking and it has paid of handsomely in my career.

  9. Harshad says:

I was there too.. din’t see you around. Hoping to meet you today.

  10. Thanks anyway, John. I’m in the UK so I shall have to pass on the opportunity to attend – for now anyway. Have a good time.

  11. Nice to see a pleasant looking person from Neverblue because that is one arrogant company. I applied to be allowed to use their system and was turned down. The email refusing me membership had a whole list of reasons why I might have been turned down.

I asked them to be more specific, so I could address whatever the problem is and they ignored my request.

Do you really want to do business with people like that? Why not tell me exactly why I was turned down? I have not had a problem with any other similar organisation.

  12. Eddie Gear says:

    Hey John,

Do you think there is a video posted somewhere online, where bloggers can view it who were not able to attend.

    1. John Chow says:

Affiliate Summit happens on many rooms and halls. There’s no “live cam” if that’s what you’re looking for. The sessions are recorded but are only available for attendees.

  13. This is why I love going to conferences like this. So much free stuff. You can build up a whole new t shirt collection in one day. I like how you’re advertising for Shoemoney there John 🙂

  14. Tanner Waid says:

Exciting!! I can’t wait to go to the meet in Vegas! Hope to see you there.

    1. d3so says:

So, all ASWs are in Vegas?

      1. They have been so far – we poll attendees on where they want us to run the conference, and Las Vegas wins big every year for ASW.

ASE has been more mixed up with stops in Orlando, Miami and Boston before hitting NYC the last two years.

  15. Meeting my affiliate managers in person was pretty cool. Clickbooth had a nice get together later on also.

  16. > According to the ASE founders, the 2010 Affiliate Summit East is the biggest one to date.

Yes, we ended up with 3,527 people – last year was the previous high for ASe with 3,076.

  17. Bidet says:

Wow thats great to see such a big turn out, each year it gets bigger and bigger.

  18. Boy everyone is ready to give away ….

    Interesting isn’t ?
