The blogger lounge at Affiliate Summit East is where all the bloggers hang out. The room is run by Heather of Heather In BC and she does a great job making everyone feel at home and welcome.
The lounge offers endless coffee and tea, free wireless Internet and a Nintendo Wii with various games. After covering a session, the blogger lounge is where I go to write my post about it. However, the lounge is not all work and no play. Us bloggers are a pretty wild bunch (as you will see in a future video). Below is a video of what typically happens in the blogger lounge. I’ll have more videos later.

One of the most common complaint (or excuse) I hear from potential new bloggers is they don’t know how to install WordPress. Terms like FTP and CPanel are like a foreign language and setting up a database might as well be setting up the space shuttle for a launch. Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...

I thought the blogger’s lounge has like 100 bloggers… good to see only a few… nice room to relax for sure.
Thats nice to have that whole wii setup too. Especially if you had to leave yours at home
John I like your new hair style … more spike.
Yes, I was also astonished not to see more bloggers! How come? SY
Why? Because everyone is partying rather tham blogging. Am I right?
only the dedicated bloggers would blog in that lounge.
This one is nice and clean.
She likes your camera John.
I wouldn’t want to be in a crowded room either. It would make it harder to blog & relax.
Yeah I was surprised by this too. I thought that it would be full and really busy.
Well if you want to blog than you should do that in yoiur hotel room.
There you can enjoy a chit chat with others and share each other notes.
Hi John,
The Blogger Lounge looks good. I was wondering where you did your posts from the event. Now I know.
It certainly beats having to do them from your hotel room.
Lisa Barone keeps blogging during the sessions. Pretty awesome stuff that comes out as soon as the session ends. http://outspokenmedia.com/
Its http://outspokenmedia.com/blog at where you will get all the details.
But I think she should use 2010 Affiliate Submmit in her title so that she can get the maximum SEO benefit.
Yeah, that is pretty cool how they can do a podcast with just the mics and one Macbook.
It would have been funny if you crash their podcast though!
He did! John actually came on and talked with us for a few minutes on the podcast (Geek Dads Weekly).
The Blogger Lounge has been great – the numbers vary, but there’s always a least a few people in here.
I could picture John doing that! Where is the podcast located? I check it out!
Never mind! I found it through your link!
John,
I had actually wondered that about your daughters names. If you had checked to see if the domain name was available before you decided on the name. That was around two weeks ago that I was thinking about that.
LOL!
It seems like you’re getting up to all sorts of trouble at this summit. Throwing stuff at Shoemoney and crashing a podcast! What will you do next???
The answer to that is in the next blog post
SY
You never know … but John we would love to hear another song from you.

Lol, I would love to see another. Man, I wish I was there.
Yes we all want that … John is simply awesome.
Wait until you see what I did with John in the lounge. Video soon.
Please post it. I’m enjoying the coverage of ASE10
Hey would love to see that … and please marketing it properly so that you can get maximum traffic from it.
That is really awesome! I’m hoping to go to Affiliate Summit West next year and hope they have a blogger’s lounge there! What a great idea.
There’s a Blogger Lounge at every Summit, be sure to swing by!
Yes this is the basic form of every affiliate event.
They have to provide a space for all bloggers.
the Blogger lounge looks like a great setup for blogging, Endless coffee and tea is a great thing
Bloggers lounge was fun. All I have to say about that
You were there ?
