I want to thank everyone who made a donation to help the Union Gospel Mission feed the hungry for this Thanksgiving. Because of you, over 1,400 people on the streets of Vancouver will be able to enjoy a hot meal.
I asked for your help and you’ve answered. I’ve received donation from 44 readers who gave $1,850.39 over the past three days. As promised, I will be matching this with my own $1,850.39 donation to bring the total donation to $3,700.78. This is a nearly a four fold increase over the matching Easter drive I did for the UGM back in March.
A special thank you goes out to WizCoder, Stephen Fung and a person who wish to remain anonymous for their generous donations. Wiz Coder donated everything he made as a full-time blogger since May. Thanks to all the following readers who made a donation.

One of the most common complaint (or excuse) I hear from potential new bloggers is they don’t know how to install WordPress. Terms like FTP and CPanel are like a foreign language and setting up a database might as well be setting up the space shuttle for a launch. Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...

I’m confused. Why all the $25.90 donations?!
Great work everybody!
25.90, is the cost to feed 10 people. 2.59 X 10.
Way to be a socially responsible blogger John, Karma may be a biatch, but Im sure you’ll be rewarded for this kind act.
karma is the bad type, darma is the good.
I just learnt something new today (and on a Sunday) cheers!
ahh….nice job everyone..
but doesn’t someone eats more then others
Even I am confused
If you go to the charity’s online donation page, you can choose a set amount of $25.90, $47, $90, or make up your own amount.
25.9 is the minimum to donate.
Damn, that’s a lot of money! lol @ my last name being “Blah”. I guess I should put my real last name in my yahoo profile from now on.
I should have donated more. lol
We should of all, but we donated what we thought was right and how much we could afford.
I just hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving day.
I donated another $25.90 for good measure.
Nice one!
Well done
Goodwork All.
That’s a good chunk of change right there.
I donated more because I ate a lot of food
I hope the homeless don’t eat as much as you, because that $2.90 will only go so far! Glad everybody made donations, what a feat!
I think even more people would have donated if you said you’re gonna post a list of them all, along with a link to their blog!
Thanks, John Chow!
I think he did say that.
Glad to see that someone will benefit from it. Congrats on the great idea and supporting others in need. Happy Thanksgiving (for those of us in Canada).
darnit i forgot to donate, i walked away after i read the post the first time. let me donate now.
Great work everyone!
Hi John, I donated two days ago, but it seems my e-mail didn’t reach you
yet still a great idea though!
The most important thing is that you donated
don’t be sad… Good karma will reward you
yeah, I know – that’s why I took part in the first place
Good job on the fund raising!
Mine wasnt that bad …. $25.9 …. I will see if i can add some more by th end of the month.
Great work to raise that much.
Hey John, in the title is missing the “3″.
hi John,
Just curious, why you choose not to promote Yahoo? It’s easy to understand why not Google, but from my viewpoints, Yahoo should be a good replacement for it, and there are more you can promote with it.
Great to see John’s helping out!
Keep it up!

converting CAD$25.90 that i donated to my dollars in my country it was a SGD$40 donation..hahaha! It can buy me 20 packets of chicken rice at $2 each…
But remember always the “Good Karma”
Thanks for the link and your matching up donation.
Amen to that. Wait a while more. Some more good news is on its way to you. How long does your offer to match donations stand?
It was over on Friday.
Well done, John & Co!
It’s always nice to see people donating. I was expecting to see some Cows on your list too but they are probably to busy making money
I’ve blogged about your this, well done once again!
Was a pleasure, I’ll try and donate on a regular basis, well I’ve got it as an outlook task so no excuses.
The page title says ,700 instead of 3,700
Well I’ll be damned your right it does. It shows it like this ,700. Whats up with that?
It’s a glitch in the All-In-One SEO plugin.
There is a new update for the plugin but why not adding a little code to the title tag so you will not need the All in SEO plugin?
Congrat, John. You are such a good man!
I wish you to be more happy and making more money !
It’s really nice that you do such things. All this type of things will improve your life! We really like you John!
good to hear you raised so much well done John Chow
while john was busy raising funds, michael kwan also was holding a small contest for a hat and waterbottle which i guess no one was interested except for me…hahaha!
That’s a great thing you’re doing.
I like the charity posts, John. THIS is actually one of my dreams except I’d make a homeless foundation in San Francisco instead of Vancouver.
I donated sent an email to John and he did not add my website, oh well.
