My friend Daniel Scocco over at Daily Blog Tips has a new post on five ways to grow your email list. You should give it a read if you’re new to email marketing, or even if you’ve been doing it for a while.
The number one item on Daniel’s list is to offer a freebie to entice readers to give you their email address. This is fantastic advice and it’s the biggest reason why my list is growing at an average of 200 new subscribers per day. When I didn’t offer a free incentive, I was getting around 10 to 20 sign ups per day.
The great thing about offering a freebie is it doesn’t have to cost you anything. My ebook was a compilation of blog posts I’ve done in the past. If you’ve been blogging for a while, it won’t be hard to create an ebook about your topic – just take all your related posts and repackage them into a new ebook, and offer it to anyone who signs up to your list. Of course, you need to do some editing and updating so the information has a good flow, but that’s not very hard to do.
Five Marketing Tools You Can Use As a Freebie
If your blog is brand new and don’t have enough content yet to create an ebook, then you can offer anyone of these five marketing tools.
The above tools are available to members of my WP Blog Video coaching program. You can use the tools to help market your blog, but you also get a license to resell it or give it away as a free incentive to build your mailing list. Visit WP Blog Videos for more information, and make sure you read Daniel’s post to find out the other ways to grow your email list.

One of the most common complaint (or excuse) I hear from potential new bloggers is they don’t know how to install WordPress. Terms like FTP and CPanel are like a foreign language and setting up a database might as well be setting up the space shuttle for a launch. Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...

Other freebies to consider if you don’t have a collection of blog posts to bundle, could be:
- a case study
- links to useful resources
- step by step guide
Thanks for the tips John. Will definitely check out these freebies
Cheers

I have been putting more and more work into building a bigger list and it is really starting to pay off.
What would you suggest to get a few clients’ email list who have been in search of professional and affordable graphic designs solutions? Will an email do or any ads or recommendation is necessary?
Thanks
