5000 AGLOCO Sign Ups

Barely 10 days after reaching 4,000 AGLOCO sign ups, I have passed the 5,000 sign up mark in my AGLOCO network. As I write this post, I am sitting at 5,072 total referrals with 571 Directs.
I am very happy with the growth of the network. This is right in line with my goal of having 5,500 to 7,000 total referrals by Viewbar release time.
Some Members Need a Slap
Normally, my AGLOCO updates are very positive affairs but this one is going to be a bit different. There is a lot of misinformation floating around the Internet about AGLOCO. Unfortunately, high profile AGLOCO members are supplying some of this misinformation. I refer you to this blog post by Harold entitled YouTube Founder Chad Hurley Says AGLOCO Wins.
Chad Hurley just joined Bill Gates in endorsing exactly what AGLOCO wants to do – give the economic value to the user.
Stop Putting Words Into Other People’s mouth!
YouTube or Live Search wanting to go to a revenue sharing model does NOT endorse what AGLOCO is trying to do. Now we have members running around saying AGLOCO is being funded by Bill Gates and Chad Hurly backs AGLOCO. It didn’t help matters that the company blog was stupid enough to linked to Harold’s post. Now I see they’re trying to clean up the mess.
As an AGLOCO Top Gun member, I am very mindful of the fact that what I say will be repeated (and twisted) by other members. Therefore, I have to make sure all my facts are correct. I ask all AGLOCO members (especially top members) to check their facts before making wild and crazy claims.
Viewbar Status
The AGLOCO company blog issued an official post on the status of the much anticipated AGLOCO Viewbar.
The good news is that the Viewbar release is currently slated for March. And the bad news is the Viewbar release is currently slated for March.
Obviously, I have two minds when it comes to this. I really want the Viewbar out there. I want Members to start using it. I want advertisers and online merchants using it. And I want to start generating revenue for Members and the company.
On the other hand, I also want more time to get ready for the Viewbar. As a part of the AGLOCO Revenue team, I want to have more time to get more agreements in place so the Viewbar makes more money even at the start.
Personally, I would like AGLOCO to delay the Viewbar longer because it gives me more time to add Directs to the front line. Right now, it’s not that hard to sign up people because there’s very little competition. Once the Viewbar becomes available for download, the recruiting competition will really heat up. I can understand why many members want the Viewbar now. It will make recruiting a lot easier. For me, I rather have AGLOCO wait until I get to 1,000 Directs. However, I don’t think they’re going to listen to me.

Way to go John!
There is nothing worse for any business than false advertising. I trust that AGLOCO will deal with this as time goes on, but the slap on the wrist was a good move. Nip it in the bud.
We are always talking about different Marketing Strategies at our forum (www.agloconnect.com) because there really are so many ways to do this. Let’s just say we have taken a page from the John Chow “AdSense Isn’t The Only Way” Book and applied it to AGLOCO advertising.
Sorry for the shameless plug John, but we do take helping members seriously - especially when it comes to preserving the company image and sticking to The Vision. We even got a plug on the The Official Blog recently. Baby steps.

It saddens me that people will be turned away by false information.
I would much prefer it if they were turned away for the right reasons….that being that AGLOCO will not help them “reclaim the internet” or make any substantial income (Mr John Chow excluded).

im new to AGLOCO, but i dont really cares if it goes that way if viewbar release. how come if it grows you economically. Bill Gates and YouTube, however, are good standouts, it will grow you economically if you standby with them, of course with johnChow!

Kinda sad people see revenue sharing and think it’s some brand new business model AGLOCO invented.

The hypesters (and spammers) will infest anything that can make them a dime online. The company and all of us need to take every measure to stop these tactics from being used. Good post and congratulations on your good fortune (and hard work). It will pay.

5000 is very impressive, congrats, but I’m going there too I hope. I will have at least 1600 direct referrals in my account around March 15th. Got about 150 directs a day now, until my ad campaigns run out.
Not from my blog, but from bought advertising. Just a small investment when this is going to work out.
Just gotta get those directs to refer people.

With regards to the delay I am impressed that they’re waiting to make sure they’ve got it right. I’m dealing with a company that has rushed certain things out the door and it’s caused all kinds of problems for both advertisers and publishers.
It sounds like they’re working hard to get it right on day 1 which is a great idea because if it’s full of problems when released you miss a potential huge spike in overall signups.
Congrats on that!…. I remember the day long ago when i was SO happy when my 47$ cheque from alladvantage came in the mail! Oh those were the days!

I just reread the “Distributions From The Company” page on Agloco’s site and am not very pleased with it. This page seems to get more and more vague on how they will pay their members… initially they were going to pay mostly cash and stock and an IPO on the London Exchange seemed certain. NOW - their language about an IPO has become more vague and their calculator no longer works in “dollars” but “hours” earned which I believe is a little mis-leading. They ALSO now have minimum country hours to even get paid out.
My sense is that as with all pyramid schemes, the top referrers will get paid… which John certainly is, so you are looking good, but Agloco will find a way to marginalize the rest. This is just my take… am I way off base or does anyone else agree?
That calculator never showed a dollar amount. People just confused it as such.
The frequency of these updates will only get faster as your network starts to grow, soon you’ll have to update us in increments of 5,000 members or 10,000 members!

John looking at the way things going with AGLOCO, why not to add it as category as well. I am sure there will be lots to write about it in the coming months. Just a thought.
Great post John. AGLOCO really needs to be much more careful with the content they link to.
For example, right now the Referral Center page links to a blog that makes these two erroneous, misleading statements:
“Bill Gates has already made a statement about Agloco.”
“Chad Harley YouTube Founder has just made a statement last week about Agloco.”
I’ve written AGLOCO about it, but they haven’t done anything about yet. Personally, I think they need to be a little more selective when choosing sites to link to and talk about.

What is your thoughts on the comments by Shoemoney?
It was an interesting post. I think Shoe is trying to thread a fine line. He wants to come out negative and be against it but he really can’t bash it too badly because two of his Elite Retreat leaders are in it. Noticed the trackback says, “Well John Chow already has over 5,000 signups and Darren Rowse I am sure has plenty” but when you look at the post now, the part of Darren Rowse being in it has been removed.

How many Adsense publishers make what you do?
How many Azoogle affiliates make what you do?
How many CJ publishers make what you do/did?
Sure a limited amount of people will be making the real money with AGLOCO (just like AllAdvantage) but is that different with any other earning avenue on the net? No.
You’re an inspiration John. I’ve had my head buried in my e-commerce site so long I missed out on many opportunities but hopefully not with AGLOCO. You’re right that a minority will make huge bucks but I’m hoping that us little guys will make enough to maybe pay the mortgage!
I just got into the top 2%! Woot! Only 33 directs but 81 Extended referrals.

If the misinformation is bad in English, you should see what they say in Portuguese. I have a running post on my AGLOCO blog in Portuguese countering rumors circulating on the Portuguese web that if you simply refer 5 people to AGLOCO you’ll get $4,800 a month.
As if the misinformation campaign isn’t enough, I’ve had all my material copied many times over by people for their own efforts. It’s disgusting. Blogger has already nuked one blog for me after I found the sucker with my Site Meter code (!!) on his site.

No one’s making money right now; the Viewbar™ has not yet been released, so no surfing hours have accumulated towards earnings.
The Viewbar™ is slated for release in March.
