A Step-By-Step Guide To Launching a Membership Site

Talk about perfect timing. Right after I posted how Tim makes over $60,000 per month with his membership site, my friend Yaro Starak has written one of the best FREE reports I’ve ever read on launching a profitable online membership site.

Yaro’s a great teacher and writer, and whenever he releases a report people always eagerly await what he has to say. His gift is the ability to take complex subjects and make them very easy to understand. As you will see in this report, Yaro makes the process of setting up and profiting from a membership site so easy, anyone can do it, including you.

The Masterplan doesn’t disappoint, and once again Yaro has not held anything back. This is a report that is full of CONTENT, it’s not some hype-filled document just designed to sell a product and not really teach you anything.

In the Masterplan Yaro explains how he was able to make $250,000 from just one membership site and then goes on to lay out a plan so you can launch your own membership site and earn at least $100,000 within the next 12 months. In the report Yaro takes you through the following process:

  • How to find topics for a membership site
  • How to develop preeminence, which means people choose to join your membership site over all the other options
  • What sources of traffic Yaro uses to bring members to his site and build his list
  • What technology Yaro uses to deliver content (this is so simple, anyone can do it)
  • How to make money from a membership site BEFORE you create the content for it
  • How to fill your membership site with hundreds of new members in a matter of days by conducting a powerful, yet simple, launch campaign
  • and much more…

  1. A membership site can’t just be a blog, right?

    1. A membership site is some kind of service / site which people pays a fee (a monthly fee usually) to use.

As an example the Tim Alerts, or even Darren’s new forum.

It could be if you offer that service within your own blog. I’ve never seen it, though.

      1. S Ahsan says:

well i will try to elaborate this. You can have a free blog with resources and also a paid one. The paid one of course will have more better resources. What did Darren Rowse do? He has an amazing blog but recently launched a community which is a paid forum where all the bloggers share knowledge. This is exclusive! i have had this idea from sometme and have been running several sites. I also some forums on work which i will disclose once the time is right 🙂

  2. You and Yaro both seem to know how to make these successful. I am following your tips to start my own.

    1. Yaro and John are both seriously heavyweight internet marketing gurus, and I find great value in following their work. It is well worth investing in their knowledge in order to expidite your process. There is no point in trying to reinvent the wheel, after all!

  3. I don’t think that people are now willing to pay for membership in websites except for porn ones. Various information is offered free of charge on the internet. Unless the content is extraordinarily important, internet users are reluctant to pay even one US dollar for one year membership for that.

    1. Have you head of PPC Coach, PPC Classroom, Backlink Solutions, Linkvana, Forex tips sites, make money sites, etc., etc.? There are tons of opportunities for membership sites. Think outside the box!

    2. Hmmmm, Mr Navel Architect……your comment is a bit naive. The best stuff is not for free, and while I agree that you can find a lot for free, the top couple of percent you still have to pay for if you’re serious about gaining an advantage.

    3. Ciarina says:

I don’t think so. I think there are a lot of people who are willing to shell out a couple of bucks (or even more) for quality service, and it isn’t just on Internet marketing topics. How about Envato’s network of tutorial sites? They have great tutorials that are free, but the ones that are for members are really amazing. It isn’t just about the tutorials, but the quality and the detail grabs people’s attention.

Or how about sites like Flickr and DeviantArt? They have free services too, but people still pay for more. I guess the key here is what you can offer for a bit of extra that other sites can’t. If the content would be just the same as what they can get from free sites, then definitely your membership site won’t be any success.

  4. Looks like a great idea, just not in my timing yet. I’ve thought about it though.

    1. Just the same for me.

These kind of business not only require knowledge and time, but also reputation, as unless you’re offering a very very unique service, nobody will join if you’re not a bit popular.

      But it surelly pays off.

  5. Lora says:

Membership sites can be a real, continued success if you do it the righ way.
Offering free content to sell content, offering the best ideas to sell ideas and tempting potencial customers to subscribe can be very effective.

    1. Yeah, and the residual income is pretty decent too.

  6. fas says:

Is this the old one or a new one?

    1. S Ahsan says:

Well its the new one i suppose! He have received a mail from Yaro 2 days ago with the plan.

  7. Hey John,

This is a wonderful step by step information. I have tried it once but I was a complete fail, then I diverted my attenton to my blogging and I am quite good at it.

But now after 3 years of blogging I think I am ready for the move.

I will consider every step this time. Thanks for the information.

Any idea how many of the ‘students’ from the previous courses started an online business that makes good money. It is good to know that your friends are making money from the membership sites but do the members also make any money after the course?

    1. S Ahsan says:

hey aansa, check out the ebook. He has mentioned some of his students who started making good sum from the first month

  9. S Ahsan says:

I have gone through the whole pdf ! its just worth your time. Yaro is not only a good teacher but he can get you on the right track. The book is a must have

  10. Great ideas on creating a membership site. I’m going to ramp up a bit and learn more about it. Yaro provides an excellent foundation.

  11. You can see every big name internet marketer online has their own membership site. Most of them don’t have only one but a number of membership sites, also in different various niches, so it must be really that profitable. Gotta check that book out asap.

    Thanks for sharing, BTW!

  12. videostar says:

To have a membership site of my own is my dream.Better some of them.

  13. When I was very ‘green’ about blogging, Googling got me one of Yaro’s free e-books, and I’ve been hooked since. He writes well and simply, and there’s lots of valuable content that makes this a must-read for anyone interested in Membership sites.
The Membership Site Masterplan takes you from nothing to building your preeminence, to triggers, the pre-launch, launch and even how to deal with attrition.
Have read, reread and will read again.
    Yaro and John rock!

  14. Zach Jackson says:

With so much content available on the net, I am still surprised that people would pay for it.

  15. If you are a well known name in such niche than your task will be really easy … Darren is an example of this.

  16. titan says:

thanks. I understand now. Seems like i did some mistake before.

  17. What is the best software / CMS to create a membership site? THAT is the information I am really interested to read, SY
