A Visit To The Vancouver Aquarium

written by John Chow on November 5, 2008

How one lazy bum made $176,697.50

One of the nicest thing about living the Dot Com Lifestyle is you can have a family fun day whenever you want. As a rule, I never do family fun days on the weekends because that’s the time everyone else does family fun day. So, after lunch at Phnom Penh (which was posted on Twitter), we decided to check out the Vancouver Aquarium at Stanley park.

The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre is a self-supporting, non-profit association dedicated to effecting the conservation of aquatic life through display and interpretation, education, research, and direct action. The place has changed a lot since the last time I’ve been there. Sally loved it and that was the main reason for going. Sally liked it so much that we decided to buy an annual membership.

Given that we went on a Wednesday afternoon, the aquarium wasn’t all that busy – mostly out of town tourists and one family living the Dot Com Lifestyle. Gotta love it.

Thats amazing, i have never seen a black squirrel before

I especially like the photograph of Sally and the squirrel. They compliment one another and seem relaxed in each others company.

And dolphins are really great. I love this animals.

Damn, never seen a black squirrel! Nice girl. Nice t-shirt! Should have said "Blog This!".

Hey, that's a good idea for my next article! Hey, Blog This!

I hope 1 day I could visit that place. I love the views.

Such an envy.. a family outing beats anything..

Well... if you liked that... you would enjoy this place sooo much

I really wanted to go there :(

Most of us are here at work while you are spending time with your family at the zoo. Yet we are here at your site to learn how to make money online, from a guy that essentially gets to hang out and have fun with his family all day, haha.

What a sweet child! You must be a proud daddy!!! :)

i have never visited such aquariums in my life :(

Same strategy ;) Never having family holidays on weekends. It is quite calm on other days.

Thanks for sharing your aquarium visit. I really enjoyed it!

they have black squirrels in Canada?!

Even though it is small (and I mention that above) it isn't a horrible place to go. They do have 3 generation of Belugas (no that Tiqa was born) which is pretty neat and so is the story behind it.

I have some photos from when I went on last Saturday at my flickr set: http://flickr.com/photos/tyleringram/sets/72157608...

:)

My youngest got splashed by the belugas on his birthday a couple of years back. He still regards it as one of the most memorable days of his life.

what a darling child! You are such proud daddy!!! :)

Loved the frog massacre and Sally is so cute "rebub", "rebub"!

Enjoy it whilst it lasts, my daughter is 13 and can barely stand to be seen in public with me ;)

Loved the squirrel interaction!!

Enjoy it as long as it lasts. There will be a time when the kids go to school and it becomes difficult to get them out for a day or two.

The obvious answer is home schooling and/or private tutor. Kids today spend way more time in school than they need to. Most kids can get by with 2 hours of RRR and the rest of the time experiencing the world around them. Now if only I could convince my wife that that's a great idea...!

I have never seen a black squirrel before

This is not PC. You have to say pigmentally-challenged squirrels. :)

That was really cute with the ribbit ribbit! and a terrible massacre with the crickets. It's great to see that you spend quality time with family. Fun time at the aquarium! I may make a visit to my local one soon.

Cute! That is quality time!

I wonder if people realize your ML "I am blogging this" was not just a cool t-shirt but a reality. It got blogged.

For a minute there, I thought you were going to say, "I wonder if people realize that you get paid to wear that T-Shirt?" :P

Do you get paid to wear that shirt? :)

Can I have one? Very cool!

Hey I will wear it for free. Send me one!!!

Where do I sign?

And - I'm willing to post 4 blog posts over a period of two months with pictures of me wearing it.

How about a T shirt contest on your blog, its been awhile since I ve won any T shirt

Sounds like a good idea! Would be fun!

That is just adorable. You sure know how to make Sally happy :D

haha very nice video, you never showed us what car your driving hahaha, i love fishes own a few aquariums myself

You won't like the Vancouver one very much... or I didn't.

It's tiny compared to SeaWorld in California or any other aquarium i've been to and there isn't as much animals.

Those squirrels are crazy. They attack people for peanuts now. When I was younger, they were much more tentative when I offered them a peanut. Now they chase you.

We have albino squirrels and regular squirrels on the College Campus in my little town that will literally attack you.

Bully squirrels!

Great pics. Love the stare-down with the squirrel!

This place looks more like SeaWorld then a city aquarium. Fun times!

Lol yeah it really does. Those jellyfish are pretty cool though.

I love the big fish :)

Yeah, they don't look real!

jellyfish is really cute
