Ad:Tech Recap and Interview
written by John Chow on April 20th, 2008
Ad:Tech maybe over but I have a couple of more videos from the show for you. The first one shows my encounter with an ominous Google sign, the Ad:Tech press room, Bob Buskirck updating his blog from his iPhone because he doesn’t like his Dell laptop, some of the free stuff we got, the Ad:Tech lunch room and other show floor footages.
The second video is a interview I did with the trend spotter, Max Lee. During the interview, I reveal my 18 secrets to blogging and making money online. Learn them and you too will be making $30,000 per month.
I wonder which video people will watch first?

Well, I caved and watched the second video first
They were both really well done, I’m a particular fan of the Rihanna playing at the beginning hahahaa.
Reply to this commentHow do you get all that swag!? I saw swag at the launch Harley Davidson in Taiwan Gig today (see my post)… but I didn’t get any… I thought I could give some away, instead I’ll just post lots of pictures of the bikes…
Oh, well.
Reply to this commentI got all the swag because I’m John Chow!
Reply to this commentHave been stalking your blog recently and read your eBook since happening upon your Entrepreneur article I picked up while getting my car oil changed… Love everything about it and have some questions…
I blog. Love blogging. Get many people telling me “you should get paid to blog”, so your article/blog/eBook/ everything is of interest.
HOWEVER… a lot of this advertising/affiliate/reviews/etc… “stuff” that I am pouring over relate to tech-stuff, computer stuff… I have a blog about my strange life on a cattle ranch. Considering starting a blog about my husband’s full life of horses and cattle, his horse training, competitions, etc… it seems that the ad world in those arenas haven’t gotten as savvy as the computer/video/electronics world. Got any suggestions?
Also, until I could make some revenue by doing this, I must start with a free blog (right now on Blogger where I feel comfortable but would move to Wordpress if need be); but I wonder how much success could be expected to be had from a free site? Can you give me any pointers?
Thanks for any help at all. Love the site and reading about your successes….
Reply to this commentWow John… you lied?! lol well I knew you couldn’t be a Pro Fighter I always doubted it but since you wrote it then I believed it.
Reply to this commentYou’ve betrayed your readership, I hope you fail miserably.
No I’m kidding, you are the best keep doing what you do, you rock!
Nice videos!
Reply to this commentThat’s hilarious the huge line for the escalator and the stairs right there empty! Don’t these people know time is money?!? Not only do they wait a long time, but then they go sloooowly up. haha.
“People too damn lazy to take the stairs.”

You are correct!
Reply to this commentmaybe next interview the camera man doesn’t cut your head that much. lol
Reply to this commentLol… thanks John for posting the video, looks like my Video Interview bait worked!
Reply to this commentI am glad to hear that no Pandas were harmed in the making of this video!
Reply to this commentWoot! You scored tons of free stuff. My wife would kill me if I brought that much junk home from a show. When I used to go to Photoshop World I had to put a limit on the stuff I collected.
Reply to this commentI think Johnchow.com’s audience are internet folks, bloggers and people who live next to the internet therefore making it easier to be successful. On the other hand if John’s blog is about farming then and the main audience are farmers then no matter how good the contents are and how regular he posts about farming then there won’t be so much traffics. Simply because farmers do not surf that much whereas the bloggers and internet entrepreneurs surf all the time.
Reply to this commentI watched the second video first
Reply to this commentVery useful videos. Thanks
Good interview Max.
Reply to this commentHey thanks, but probably John did a good job of interview, not me, I just asked him questions I had in mind.
Kudos John again for the interview.
Now, I gotta go work on the SiteHoppin Toolbar…and maximizing income.
Reply to this commentdon’t sell yourself short … you did a great job.
Reply to this commentI wish people would stop whining about the content on here.
Anyway, the interview was good. Some useful tips there.
Reply to this commentThe 2 videos are cool. But the resolution is a bit blurred.
Reply to this commentGoogle had some pretty good logo placement for that interview
SallyChow.com is going to pick up some more traffic too. She’ll have John’s site beat by the time she goes to school

Reply to this commentYou didn’t compete in the UFC? I thought maybe you had one round with a Panda.
Reply to this commentI feel lied to.
Reply to this commentSo you’ve never really killed any pandas? The truth hurts.
I think it’s a no-brainer that people will watch the second video first.
Reply to this commentJohn you should not even be asking. Very obviously the video which talks of making money. In fact you know that the visitors come in cause of the money you make and otherwise most would not even turn up at this blog.
