Affiliate.com Playing a Game of Advertiser One Upmanship

As most of you know, Azoogle Ads is holding a big blow out party at the Playboy Mansion on August 28 for their top producing affiliates. Last year’s party was a huge success and the 2010 party promises to be even better.

It seems the Azoogle Playboy promotion running on this blog hasn’t gone unnoticed by the readers and other advertisers. One sponsor, Affiliate.com, decided to one up Azoogle’s promotion by running the banner ad you see on the right. I was thought it was pretty creative.

I should note that Azoogle also has top affiliates who make over $1 million a year and can afford their own mansions and Playboy Playmates. Still, I give Affiliate.com credit for leveraging another companies ad promotion. My recommendation is to join both affiliate networks.

Yeah, it’d sure be nice to have your own mansion. Now when you say “afford their own Playboy Playmates”…what exactly would that cost? πŸ˜‰

    1. John Chow says:

If you have to ask, you can’t afford it. πŸ™‚

    2. She’ll take you for everything ultimately. The truth of the Playboy bunny is that generally we are talking gold digger mentality here. While they are fun to play with for a while the whiney demands will soon drive you nuts πŸ˜‰ Whatever you do, don’t marry one of these units!

        You seem to have experience.

Boy you have experience of marriage with them as well … interesting πŸ™‚

          1. LOL @ this conversation. Bunnies aren’t actually that hard to pick up. Most of you are thinking playmates. The bunnies are just the waitresses. In theory they’re probably just a smidge harder to pick up than your normal waitress.

Very creative !! Well done affiliate.com. Just goes to show you can use another companies promo’s to your own advantage without being offensive!

    1. Who wouldn’t want their very own bunnies…lol

I agree, very creative ad. The only part I don’t like is the house image. Reminds me too much of a mortgage or foreclosure banner.

  3. That’s a creative ad. I also read that the orange color entices people to click on ads (banners). I’ve now seen it in action.

  4. That’s awesome, haha

Thanks for the comments and the post. We at Affiliate.com are proud to give our affiliates high payouts, fast payouts and more customer service than any other network.

If your affiliate network is spending all their money on promotions and parties, ever figure where that comes from? Your commission, your payout.

  6. I currently run with Azoogle, and let me tell you…there are affs on that network that have done at least 1mill in rev a month if not more…

    Interesting of affiliate.com though…

  7. Thanks John for posting this.

I am currently looking for some good affiliate programs for my blog, TheBlogQuest.com and I really need to find them fast!

    1. Its a good idea to sign up for a couple, explore the different offers and compare payouts, eCPC, etc.

      Don’t just settle for one.

$1 Million bucks as an affiliate… I’m going to be NEXT!!!

  9. I am looking for some affiliate programs as well to use for Adwords.

  10. Interestingly that ad is mainly aimed at male affiliate marketers, not at women. No business women amongst the affiliate marketing crowd? SY

    1. John Chow says:

Affiliate marketing, like tech, is a male dominated game.

      1. For how long I wonder πŸ˜‰ More women everyday in the IM business, wonder what the big networks will offer us in future? David Hasselhoff look a likes πŸ˜‰ ? SY

affiliates.com and azoogle are one of the toughest companies to get in :), well what i mean is, you need to have experience of course and then it takes a while for them to review, ask you questions, pass the details to their managers etc. I am in most of the CPA companies but somehow missed Azoogle. All i remember is when they called me for verification, we got cut off and once i called them back, i couldn’t locate the person who talked to me and thats about it. Expected a call or email but that didnt happen and I guess i was too busy to deal with it at that time.
However, the ladies there are sweeet πŸ™‚ and I know azoogle is good and performs real well. I am hoping to work with them sooner and party in the mansion.. Watch out Azoogle, if you are seeing this, process my application asap and lets make some money ;), cheers!

    Very creative creative πŸ˜‰
I agree, these networks are tough to get into. You need to be experienced or know someone who can get you in.

“I was thought it was pretty creative.” = I though it was pretty creative.
    Trying to pull a yoda?

  13. Sounds like a great game for you John.

  14. I really dig the angle they took with their marketing here. It makes good sense to cash in on the hype generated by the Playboy Mansion parties, and taking it a step further in the way they did is very cheeky but effective. I like it!

    1. I’d like to hear from some azoogle peeps on their thoughts πŸ™‚

      Any on here?

  15. Tommy says:

Creative….and it only took them 2 years to come up with that banner. They must be nimble.

  16. Haha, I noticed that when I first saw the banner! That is hilarious. I have been using Azoogle for years, but never Affilaite.com. After that banner, I might have to register and see what offers they have πŸ™‚

UPDATE: after posting here (my previous comment), azoogle called me earlier today to talk about my application but unfortunately I didnt have the cellphone with me. Casey, i believe thats her name, left a message and I will hit them up tomorrow; however the point is that they are watching and are willing to reach out to publishers. I am glad that they saw my post here and actually called me to clear things up.. so thumbs up to Azoogle, πŸ™‚

  18. I would call it cheap marketing and inspired by the competitive.

Their playboy mansion party forced affiliate.com to come up with an idea and such kind of idea is not original.

But however bunnies with playboy tag is always in demand.
