All Set For CES 2008

The Consumer Electronics Show doesn’t start until January 7 of next year. However, because of the size of the show (over 150,000 people are expected to attend), you have to book things months in advance if you want to find a flight or hotel. On the CES hotel reservations website, seven hotels are already sold out. And the prices are crazy! Even a cheap ass hotel like the Imperial Palace (we call it the Imperial Projects) cost $249 a night during CES. CES attendees can book it through the CES site for $160 night. That’s still nuts for a hotel that goes for as little as $49 a night.

2008 CES Kick Off Party

Like last time, I will be hosting another CES Kick Off party. This time we’re going to Caesar’s Palace because the MGM Grand doesn’t seem to like it when I filled a penthouse suite full of people. I’ve booked the Absolut Flavor Suite for the 2008 party. This 3,300 square foot two story penthouse is one of the most colorful suites you’ll ever see. And it comes with its own dance floor and an unlimited supply of Absolut Vodka! Here’s a video of the room. I can’t wait to see it live.

Invites for the 2008 CES Kick Off party will be going out in November. If you don’t get one, it means you’re not important enough.

Sounds cool.. knowing John, there will be food..

Deammmm, that suite is off the chain! The one you had last year was really nice and the view was amazing, but it seemed kinda small... maybe it was just all the ppl there heh.

BTW, pics here if you are interested: http://www.ocia.net/articles/ttzparty/page1.shtml

I reserved my room back in June, nearly $2,200 for a weeks stay :(

Those prices are nuts, but its Vegas baby!!!

I'm looking to make my way down there for the first time and bring a bunch of others from Toronto with me.

Sweet  I would love to go to CES but it's a bit too far and a bit too expensive for my liking, maybe within a couple of years

But I am planning to go to CeBIT this year.

I see John guzzling beer video in next CES

Vegas = p00p.

oh well, it's not like I'll be invited anyway.

Wow John... I mean... DAMN
I reiterate my previous post in which I state that you are the man!!

PS. Can I come??

Like, can learn something

Looks like a cray cool place to host a party...Now... how to get on the VIP list.

Hey thanks for the invite John!

You won't be disappointed!

They kind of showed it off as different suites for each flavor. Or is it all in one? Either way, it's a great concept, especially the vodka bar

That's all one place. For 5K a night, it better have at least enough rooms to sleep (or not sleep) a quite a few friends...

If that room comes with the woman who did the interview, I'm game.

You paying for it or are they comping some of the nights?

I can hardly wait to see the food photos. Yummy

I'm sure if I agree to gamble more than $100,000, the entire stay will be comped. However, I don't gamble.

Nice choice of suite John! How many people do you think you can get in there?

I don't know yet but my rule of thumb is to triple whatever the hotel tells me is the limit.

I am expecting 200 people.

Nice.... should be a blast!

Woah, I want to go. How cool... that suit looks awesome! I've heard Ceasars Palace is one of the best places to throw a party too!

I can has vodka

BTW I think I´ll have to reserve a cheap ass hotel. Circus circus anyone?

I want an invite

nice john i didn't know you party. let me find out you play sports too. if you do check out my site and navigate my blogroll i have interesting things for sports lovers, well thats if you are into sports too.

Hotels jacking up their prices is insane. There should be some kind of federal mandated amount that they are allowed to increase during special times.

Hotels are realy expensive that time.

I would not say at times actually, i hate when hotel owners play this dirty game and raise their price at this manner, it is not like they have doubled the price...it used to cost $50 in normal days and now $250...
Anyway, i never get to trip so i am fine :P

Gotta love the laws of supply and demand!... if you're the seller that is.

John, you can afford it if not check out http://www.mytravelscenes.com for some great travel deals.
