All Work And No Play With Jane May
written by Jane May
As some of you may have heard or not heard, I have recently sold one of my blogs, Career Ramblings dot com. This came at some what of a surprise since I wasn’t expecting to get an offer that I would actually accept. It turns out, I was happy, my business partner was happy and the new owner is happy.
I was devoting a lot of time into Career Ramblings, building it up to generate over $1800 a month, over 60,000 page views a month and a PR of 6, and now that it’s gone I have some extra time to put into my other projects. Some of the projects that I am working on now is starting a new blog called Daily Web Ideas.
Daily Web Ideas will take over my personal blog, Jane May Blogs (currently on a 301 redirect), and continue to grow in topics such as monetization, marketing, blogging advice, optimization, useful tips and much more. I will probably have my personal blog just be random discussions. I don’t want my personal blog to have any focus since my thoughtful content will go into my other websites.
In addition to Daily Web Ideas, I will be guest blogging at least once a week here on Mr. Evil’s website for all of you and maybe an occasional guest post for one of my loyal readers. I like surprises :-).
I have one project that will take up most of my time. I have two other business partners that will be running the day to day of it, but it’s exciting nonetheless. I can’t say much on the details just yet, but I can say that there will be some new and upcoming bloggers that will benefit from this project greatly. You may just want to keep up with Daily Web Ideas to find out what tricks I have up my skirt…I mean sleeve!!
This post was guest blogged by Jane May. She teaches readers how to create and monetize blogs on Daily Web Ideas.

You have a lot of work left on moving that blog. when are you going to fix all of your images?
Hopefully in the next few hours.
the new blog looks pretty good
very well designed!
well done jane!
just how many blogs have you got?
i saw “G2 media company” on your new site’s footer, is that your company?
yes, I am a partner with 2 others.
Great stuff, I’ll be checking it out!
johncow.com?
what a typo, i’m surprised that john allows you to be seen here
Why?
I’m sure the name helps out both people. Cow gets the typo traffic, and Chow gets the “I know you you are really imitating” traffic.
look forward to seeing you all around
wahaha….a similar website with the same theme and stuff…
Great job and good luck!
Fantastic move to consider starting another property. You will be flipping in no time!
I don’t think I want to flip this time.
not when there’s no decent offer on the table
Well, that’s not my exit strategy, so I guess regardless of offer…
Sounds awesome, Jane! I can’t wait.
Oh man… Jeff Kee is gonna love that skirt comment.
congrats on the sale and i wonder how much you get
is it something around $50,000
Yeah, congrats on the sale! Building something valuable from scratch is always a pretty darn good feeling.
yeah, it was, although there was sooo much time spent on it, it feels like losing a baby…or a really loved pet
Congrats Jane May
I think cashing in now makes a lot of sense. People are begging for a place to toss their money once more. Cashing out and starting over now is the best idea of all.
Jane, if that’s how you feel, then the hallmark of web success a la YouTube, MySpace, is in seling off your works. Get ready to loose more ‘babies’ and acieve more web success.
Good Luck!
Good luck Jane. Ill definitely be hanging around the new blog…
Very nice blog! Good luck~
Good luck Jane. I look forward to reading more of your stuff here (and at Daily Web Ideas).
Thanks Michael! I look forward to writing some great stuff
Well, at least try to..hehe
My feedreader just gave me a permanent redirect popup, I gess this is what’s it all about. Looking good so far
permamemt redirect popup hmmmmm, sounds like we’re on the right track…thanks!
New site to read.. Cool
Nice new blog. Good luck with it, and I like your theme!
Thanks Casey, it’s a work in progress.
Wow. The last sentence was pure evil.
Who new Jane was nice AND naughty…
Cool luck with your new businesses! What you have built is truly amazing.
I must say…this was one of the most depressing headlines I’ve read all day:
“All Work And No Play With Jane May”
I’ve been married almost 30 years, so I’m no candidate…but title like this referring to such a lovely woman…seems like such a tragedy!
Congrats Jane. Daily Web Ideas is now on my daily must read list. Cant wait to hear what those tricks up your sleeve are.
congrats on the sale
Great expectations and possibilities — good luck on all your new endeavors, Jane!
Is it worthy to sell it and start something new?
Clearly she received good compensation for it. When there is opportunity, there is growth. Pretty sure Jane will make even bigger waves with her new projects.
Good Luck and keep going
