Apple Wants Its Lost iPhone 5 Back NOW!

written by John Chow on September 9, 2011

Secure Affiliate Marketing

I got a bit of Déjà vu when I heard that Apple lost an iPhone 5 prototype in a bar. You would think they would have banned their engineers from going into bars with unreleased iPhones after the iPhone 4 prototype got lost and ended up in the hands of Gizmodo.

Apple wants their iPhone 5 back and they want it back NOW. They’ve even made a commercial about it. If you’re the guy with Apple’s missing iPhone, I recommend you return it now. You don’t know who you’re messing with. :P

Property Marbella September 11, 2011 at 3:53 am

I found it and sold it to the Chinese, so from tomorrow can we buy it for $ 5.

SportsNub September 16, 2011 at 7:08 am

hehe…so true. Chinese can make copy of everything.

Nick Throlson September 9, 2011 at 1:48 pm

haha Conan is so funny Apple needs to use there GPS tracking to find out where its at!

Email List Building September 11, 2011 at 12:23 pm

What if the iPhone is turned off, GPS tracking won’t work then will it?

I doubt that they’d allow anybody taking it to a bar.

Best Daily Deals September 9, 2011 at 4:12 pm

LOL. After the first incident they still have not learned their lesson. Anyway if the person who picks up the phone switch it OFF, I doubt any GPS can trace it. Good luck to Apple :)

Social Bookmarking Service September 9, 2011 at 11:22 pm

I do not think that they have lost iPhone 5 … this is just they are making fun of last incident when iPhone 5 is about to launch …

Oh will miss Steve on presentation.

Abhik September 10, 2011 at 9:24 pm

Or, may be this is just another publicity gimmick

fazal mayar September 9, 2011 at 5:53 pm

its me its me, i have it :D

Shhhh … dont shout like a kid …

Keep it in your inner pocket … may be we can sell the design to Nokia …

SportsNub September 16, 2011 at 7:10 am

Yeah, true. :P Or maybe Google will be ready for buying it at any price.

Justin | Mazzastick September 9, 2011 at 7:59 pm

That totally sucks for Apple. Drinking and iphones do not mix. Flesh eating fire ants huh?

Deen September 9, 2011 at 9:23 pm

genital torture . :-) that would be scary..haha

but seriously, how on earth did Apple loss it prototype, very weird for a big company like that. or is it some sort of marketing gimmicks.. nah..

Abhik September 11, 2011 at 7:36 pm

It is, indeed :)

Social Bookmarking Service September 9, 2011 at 11:27 pm

They got huge media hype when last iPhone lost … so may be they want to capitalise it again …

Everybody will think in that manner …

allan stuart September 11, 2011 at 11:30 pm

I doubt you’ll get any :)

Erwin Miradi September 12, 2011 at 6:46 am

:D That’s too bad.

GamesDunia September 10, 2011 at 2:42 am

Really Interesting News. I just read it and get surprised that how it is possible. They just lost their iPhone 5 prototype in a bar!

elcosario September 10, 2011 at 3:03 am

lol ;)

rabbistarak September 10, 2011 at 8:19 am

it’s another marketing technique from apple..

fazal mayar September 10, 2011 at 12:35 pm

I wouldnt be surprised at all if thats was the case :D

PPC Ian September 10, 2011 at 11:28 pm

Agree, it’s all marketing. Definitely a good way to promote the iPhone 5. I’m looking forward to the iPhone 5 coming out, but probably won’t get it since I have the iPhone 4. Then again, maybe I will go for it!

Email List Building September 11, 2011 at 12:25 pm

Hey Ian,

It seems that you really want iPhone 5 and are in the process of rationalizing getting it.

fazal mayar September 13, 2011 at 4:55 pm

everyone wants the iPhone5, its a new gadget from Apple, its a clear choice :D (me too)

Property Marbella September 12, 2011 at 2:09 am

Every newspaper and blog writing about this all around the world this week, more advertising can they not get. Is this the new way to advertise cheaply.

Buy a Blog September 10, 2011 at 9:31 am

Such interesting News, i like it.

fas September 10, 2011 at 11:22 am

This video has gone super viral.

Abhik September 10, 2011 at 9:26 pm

Yeah!! It is :)

Eric September 10, 2011 at 6:46 pm

So fun with the music and gestures ahah!
I agree that’s self-deprecating is a good marketing strategy, kind of reminding me the “finally” released white iPhone 4. I think it supports the power of collective mindset necessary to Apple for establishing a brand personnality where Steve Jobs is “less” present. (beside the fact that I think that since he resigned from ceo, his impact takes a bigger dimension than ever)

Abhik September 10, 2011 at 8:11 pm

I am sure it’s with Gizmodo again..
If Apple really want it back (or, may be this is a publicity gimmick), they should politely ask Gizmodo :p

PPC Ian September 10, 2011 at 11:24 pm

Whoever has that iPhone 5 better give it back now!

Email List Building September 11, 2011 at 12:29 pm

iPhone 5 is to be released in October. That lost prototype has been replaced by an even better one and the iPhone 5 is already being mass produced.

Whoever has the old prototype will find it useless pretty soon.

fazal mayar September 13, 2011 at 4:54 pm

yep you are right but this is purely a marketing tactic :D

Property Marbella September 11, 2011 at 3:52 am

Just one big PR stunt to blame the delay of the launch of the new iPhone 5.

Brooklyn Dentist September 11, 2011 at 7:13 am

I also think so. Well, if they can’t release it, they just need to say it. :)

SportsNub September 16, 2011 at 7:15 am

Yes, absolutely true.

Michael September 11, 2011 at 10:38 am

Haha – thanks a funny commercial!

Haitham September 15, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Yeah indeed it’s!

Liane | Blog Design Team September 11, 2011 at 10:50 pm

LOL. I’m beginning to think this ‘losing iPhone prototypes’ is nothing but effective viral marketing haha

Ferry Ozin September 11, 2011 at 11:34 pm

they would not get it back… because they never lost it :-)

SportsNub September 16, 2011 at 7:20 am

Yes, true. It’s just a marketing stunt.

Buy a Blog September 12, 2011 at 2:20 am

I don’t think Apple will find it, ha ha.

BlackBerry News Blog September 12, 2011 at 6:30 am

Marketing stunt. Apple probably reads John Chow on how to do it.

Lalit September 12, 2011 at 8:09 am

Interesting news.

GamesDunia September 12, 2011 at 10:00 am

Really Interesting News.

MicroSourcing September 12, 2011 at 8:05 pm

The employee in question must have been fired. That just makes it easy for some other brand to pirate the iPhone 5′s features before it even hit mass production. Or the prototype could be sitting in someone’s altar.

BlackBerry News Blog September 13, 2011 at 1:17 am

As I said, this must be a marketing stunt. And the timeframe is to short to make a copy of the iPhone 5. And even if they can, in my country I never saw a iPhone 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 copy so far in the stores. I don’t see why this would be any different with the iPhone 5

Lalit September 15, 2011 at 7:27 am

I agree that it seems to be a marketing tactics.

Tech84 September 13, 2011 at 3:26 am

Very funny, I watched this last night. This is the second time an Apple employee has lost an iPhone prototype in a bar, now I’m starting to think its some form of marketing strategy to increase the hype on the iPhone 5′s release.

Buy a Money Making Blog September 13, 2011 at 9:54 am

I don’t think they will find it.

GamesDunia September 16, 2011 at 9:49 pm

I don’t think Apple will get back it.

Guys I have been keeping mum. Actually I am launching my own brand of iphone next month. Its called “” ORANGE”” . Actually dont say to anybody its based on IPHONE 5 prototye

Gift Ideas September 19, 2011 at 2:19 am

Yes, now many companies has develop many other sets like iPone.

Technogies September 19, 2011 at 9:22 pm

well microsourcing you are right that employee in question must have been fired and they just makes it easy for some other brand to pirate the iPhone 5′s features before it even hit mass production.
And this article is a TECHNOGIES and may be submitted at Technogies.

john@web design london September 23, 2011 at 2:01 am

Apple product its a really superb product am using all the gadgets of apple only

Ritesh @ TechSpacia October 13, 2011 at 1:08 pm

I strongly doubt… it is there some kind of market gimmick? why on the earth they allowed someone to take the phone in the bar when the same story happened with earlier version of iphone?
