At The Parents’ Again

written by John Chow on January 22nd, 2007

We’re at my parents’ place again to give another go at leaving Sally behind while we go for another Dine Out Vancouver adventure. This time we’re off to Grouse Mountain to try out The Observatory restaurant.

Hopefully, Sally won’t be crying for the entire time we’re away. Our reservations are set for 6PM and I expect dinner to last 1.5 hours. It’s only a 15 to 20 minute drive from my parents’ house in Vancouver to Grouse Mountain but we may have to wait up to 15 minutes for the Skylift that takes us to the top of the mountain.

Look for a full review of The Observatory later tonight.

I wish you all the luck with Sally. Hopefully after last week, she’ll warm up to them a bit :)

I know it’s expensive, but that wax figure would be working magic for you right now. :D

The wax figure would probably scare her.

I’m looking forward to a shot of some delicious gourmets. I have reservations as well, to Boston Pizza. Classy, I know.

I’ve never been there for dinner, but The Observatory at Grouse looks like a nice place. The view at night should be amazing.

It takes a while until kids get into a routine. Our daughter goes in and out of phases. For a while she was afraid of everyone, then would talk to everyone, now is back to being afraid of everyone again. Guess we were like that when we were kids too? Phases that is.

I think its awesome that John is taking the time to expose us to all the different and fun places in Vancouver. Living in Chicago, I hardly ever hear about things to do and fun places to visit in that part of Canada.

Living in Michigan is even worse.

What is there to do in Chicago (and Michigan)? I can think of the Bears, the Blackhawks, the Bulls… (the Lions, the Red wings, the Pistons…)

The Lions are a joke. why waste the money. Unless you go for the fun of seeing them loose.

john, what you could do is record digital videos of yourself talking into the camera as if you were talking to her so when you are gone your parents can put it on tv and she can watch you talk to her :P
