Attending a Family Wedding

Make Money!

Yesterday I saw my cousin, who I used to babysit when she was just 4 years old, get married. It was a beautiful ceremony held at Queen Elizabeth Park. I love family weddings because it brings people together. Family members flew in from Toronto, New York, Hong Kong and China to attend.

The weather could not have been better. However, I have to admit, wearing a suit in the dead of summer isn’t my idea of fun. Sally had a great time with all the attention showered on her by out of town family members seeing her for the first time.

Irene, the bride, is the first child of my uncle’s family to get married. She is the oldest of four siblings. The ceremony lasted about an hour and was attended by 100 friends and family. There was another hour of taking pictures in the park. Then we went home to get ready for the evening reception, which would be attended by 320 people.

Here are some photos from the wedding. It was really hard to get good pictures because the sun was behind the bride and groom. I really need to take a photography course.

John, you took some AMAZING pictures! Do send please!

Awesome pictures... the bride is really gorgeous and the groom looks really smart. The group photographs are also very nice (specially the bridesmaid

All the very best to the couple.

The autofocus of the S3 isn't very fast or precise, but you did good.

I guess my comment is too late for anyone to notice, but:

Have anyone else noticed how there's amost always only asians in events like these? Even the priest is asian.

It makes me wonder if it is intentional or not (since this is by far the first example of such segregation on john chow).

Nice shot on the wedding

great pics, did all your family understand how did you make a living through the internet?

This isn't the first year he's made his living through the internet, I am sure everyone should of known by now.

Gratz to the couple. They both looks very nice. (She is nicer of course  )

No videos?! You should post one, knowing you, I am sure you probably did make a short video somewhere along the way.

Did you make a dot com mogul speech afterwards John - giving advice to the newlyweds on how to achieve the best rates for advertising??

Congrats to the Bride and Groom.

Congrats to the Bride and Groom. The photos are great, you have a good eye.

Yeah it makes you sick doesn't it!

Not only is John an evil money making genius but he's also a great photographer - there's got to be something he's not good at!

The bride is so beautiful, I'm falling in love and now falling out, too bad I don't have a chance since she's married now.

I noticed that everyone is giving compliments on how hot the bride is but none of the girls on here seem to compliment just the groom =]

It's always the way! The girls take the limelite - the men just pay the bill!

HAHAHAHAHA, that's so true it's not even funny (yet it's laughable - if that makes any sense)

I realize this has probably been said a hundred times, but that is a beautiful couple.

Are you sure you're related? :-P Just kidding.

Got any other hot 'single' cousins you'd like to let us know about John

Did you get to speak and tell them how to make money online? Jk

Oh man, I wondering if John is a celebrity amongst his family members too

Maybe you bought them a website as a wedding present?!?

LOL, that would be wrong in so many ways haha

Congratulations to the couple.

Congratulations, The pictures look good - much better than what I could take

nice shoot actually..love to heard it from you. :)

She is very attractive lady.
Lucky man marrying her.

:D

Like everyone else has said, the photos looked awesome and I would never have guessed they came from a point-and-shoot camera upon first glance. It looks like it was a wonderful occasion and you got some great pictures.

And so much for the bad light - you're right, the pictures are fantastic.

I think you have to pay John the $5 first LOL

Congratulations! Looks like it was a great day with great weather. The bride and groom make a very nice couple.

aww she is very beautiful

Photo quality is pretty, hope you had a nice day and enjoy seeing all your family for this special occasion. Wedding can be a lot of fun and they indeed look like a very young couple. Good luck to them and all the best for the years to come.

Awww that's so sweet and lovely! Your pics are great :) They look like stills from a movie :)

I also think the pictures look great

Great looking pictures.

Long live this new wedding, both of them were looking great and very happy. Congratulations.

The photos look really great..

Canon S3 compact is a great camera..

From the looks of it, yeah... My shitty Canon Powershot SD700 sucks

They look great :)

Congratulations

congratulations to the couple. bride looks absolutely stunning!

Great pics :) I've got a Canon S2 myself and it rocks!

How was the after party?

Yeah, where's all the pictures for that.

And we want to see pictures of the food too - although no more disturbing lobster clips please.

Looked like it was a beautiful cerimony. How does your family feel about posting pics like that on your blog? Do they care? I sometimes wonder if mine would.

I would imagine if I post bad pictures or the comments were very negative, they would care. But that's not the case here so I think they will like it. I will show them these post later.

Haha, you don't have to. I'd expect that with any camera, no matter how good it is, would produce some bad pictures at times.

Well, a simple trick I learnt for these kind of lighting situations would be to turn on the flash. It would be even better if your camera has a "flash-assist" function. It would light the fore-ground, so that their sillouhettes don't appear instead.
