Aweber Releases New Web Form Generator

Aweber just made it a whole lot easier to create an email sign up form. Yes, Aweber already had a web form generator but their new one is out of this world. It will allow you to create professional looking email sign up forms with just a few clicks of the mouse. The new Web Form Generator gives you the same sort of powerful design customization that you would typically find in web design software. You’ll drag and drop. You’ll point and click. You’ll have complete control over the feel of your forms, and you’ll make better-looking ones than ever before.

Better Popover and Lightbox Animation

Do you use “hover” style forms (like the Lightbox I use) to grab visitors’ attention and lift your opt-ins? You’ll love the updated animations used for these new forms; they’ve ditched the Windows95-looking blue bars at the top and smoothed out the fading and sliding motions.

Dynamic Thank You Pages

Want to use video on your thank you pages to increase confirmed opt-ins, but don’t have the time or equipment to make it happen? You can use Aweber’s video thank you pages to provide precise instructions to each new subscriber on how to confirm. The video even show them exactly what your confirm email looks like in their specific email program (Gmail, AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, Mac Mail, etc).

According to AWeber they are doing a staggered roll out of the new web form controls. Not everyone has access to it right now. It will take some people a couple weeks.

    1. Kevin Pasco says:

I just figured that one out for myself. I haven’t gotten access to mine yet. Maybe John did because he’s special? 😛

    2. Talk about a teaser. I saw this post and was really excited about being able to make a nice sexy lightbox. Instead when I logged back in, I was rudely welcomed by Windows95.

Hopefully this goes live soon. I can’t wait

  2. If this green welcome message is from awebar than I must say that this one is not looking good

    1. Lee Ka Hoong says:

I have the same though, the old one that attached with the ebook looked more professional. I know I should start using Aweber, I’m going to sign up soon. 🙂

      1. Benjamin Cip says:

It doesn’t really look professional, plus it doesn’t really suit your blog colors.

        1. Agree, it clashes with the rest of the colors of this blog, I would go with blue or gray, SY

        2. Lee Ka Hoong says:

It looks much more better now. It looks better when it attached with the cover of the ebook, also the color combination.

    2. John Chow says:

I’ve been playing around with it and I’ve made a new Lightbox that should work a lot better.

      1. The new Lightbox looks really clean. Will you post conversion numbers at any point to let us know if the new design is more popular than the old one?

  3. Hi John, thanks for the great write up. Always open to everyone’s feedback.

ProBlogMedia, the roll out is happening over a period of time. Currently 50% of all customers have access to it. If all goes smoothly, as it has so far, we expect to have 100% roll out before Thanksgiving.

    1. We will all have a lot to give thanks about when you make this live for everyone. I’ve been wanting to implement a lightbox, but didn’t really know where to start setting one up. I’m looking forward to being able to make one.

  4. Wow thats pretty cool, will have to check it out and implement it into my website.

  5. Greg Ellison says:

I saw this on their website today when I was at work. It looks really cool, and can’t wait to try it. Greg Ellison

    1. Lee Ka Hoong says:

Me too Greg, I’m going to sign up Aweber too. I believe building a mailing list would help our online business in future.

      1. You’re blog looks really nice. I am sure adding a mailing list will increase your income FAR more than the cost to set it up and maintain it.

Not only does it benefit you, but it also benefits your readers. It’s a win-win IMO.

  6. Kevin Pasco says:

This is exactly what I needed!!!

    I love you Aweber.

  7. Lee Ka Hoong says:

John I’ve seen your new sign up form, looks fresh but I think the old one attached with your ebook looked better.

Anyway, I’m going to sign up aweber soon. 🙂

    1. Benjamin Cip says:

I have the same feeling as yours, I did prefer the old one.

      1. Lee Ka Hoong says:

John has changed the web form, it looks much more better. 🙂

  8. Aweber is great. I took your advice from your video and used Aweber as well. My Blog site has been up for 6 days now and Aweber was one of the easiest tols to set up. I called them today to get some info and they even picked right up. No hold time. I am so excited about my blog site. It’s already indexed in google and websiteoutlook after 1 week. I really have learned a lot from John… Thanks

    1. Wow, it’s awesome to see someone starting out on the right foot. I waited 3.5 months after starting my blog to sign up for awebber and I really regret not doing it sooner.

It’s always worth it to do things right from the start. I’m sure with the approach you are taking, you’ll be successful. Keep at it!

  9. I must be the lucky one! I just finished setting mine up! I am loving Aweber!

    1. Kevin Pasco says:

Lucky!! I still don’t have access to mine yet =(

      1. No kidding. I’m dying seeing how easy it looks to setup a good looking opt in box while I’m stuck with the plain jane default opt in. Awebber please save us.

  10. JennKennedy says:

I saw mine today, and used it. It seems they tried to draw the line between feature rich and super easy, but I’ll have to try it out a little more. It was super easy to add your own graphic before and that feature didn’t jump out at me today. In short, the jury is still out on this one 🙂

  11. It seems aweber evolute to new step.

  12. Aweber is really good at online advertising. But color combination is not so good as youe blog has.

  13. Dean Saliba says:

I am finding it more and more difficult to stick to my rule of “not spending money” in my quest to earn money.

  14. The best autoresponder service just got better. I’ve been using aweber for ages now. Will try out the sign up form this weekend.

  15. fas says:

    They keep improving, wowo!

  16. The money is in the email list, and Aweber are the undisputed heavyweight champions of the internet world when it comes to email management. It is good to see that they’re not resting on their laurels, and are improving their offering as they go along.

    1. EarningStep says:

i agree with you jac… aweber … yeah .. no doubt still the best one

  17. Tinh says:

It is good one but I myself do not like the popup on your blog as sometimes I make my PC not responding, then I would not sign up and have another strategy on this. Thanks anyway

  18. yamanote says:

i cannot find out how to set the pop-up recurrence on these new forms?

    1. It’s under the “advanced” tab on the right when you select popover. This screenshot shows you exactly where:

  19. EarningStep says:

another great feature from aweber. look like this is the right time to start my account … nice sharing john…

  20. Kevin Pasco says:

YES I just got access to the new form generator!

Oooohhh boy I’m going to have some fun with this one 🙂

  21. @crowdmanage says:

On my blog I have posted a screenshot where the opt-in form gets stuck behind the video and frustrates the visitor. The problem with Flash is that it doesn’t provide a way to easily integrate with the HTML, which is necessary for publishing an AWeber opt-in form.

AWeber recommends adding the form HTML before or after “the Flash object”.

But I am not sure how this advice applies when it comes to the lightbox which appears in the middle of the screen, as it depends entirely where the reader is at the time the box fades in. You can’t control whether a video is in the middle of the screen or not at that time.

I will publish the solution once I have it. Anyone got any ideas?

    1. @crowdmanage says:

Update: AWeber emailed me, “In this case I would recommend using a different form type apart of your flash site. I would not be able to support where to place the videos on your site. I suggest working along with your web designer to fix this issue. They would be able to provide the assistance you need to fix on where to place the video.” So in conclusion lightbox doesn’t work if you have video on your page. Too bad.

      1. Forms do with with Flash on pages, but you need to tweak the flash embed to tell it to sit in a layer below the HTML so the hover forms can display unimpeeded.

See our knowledge base for a full description.

  22. Keep posting stuff like this i really like it.

  23. chester says:

Definitely better than most other form generator software out there.
