Biggest Dot Com Pho To Date

Normally, the weekly Dot Com Pho is attended by six to ten people. However, BlueFur decided to bring their entire furry team to bring the attendance up a record 16 people. If we get any bigger, we’ll need to book out the entire restaurant.

For this edition of Dot Com Pho, we find out the correct way to say “Pho” by the owner of Pho Lan, our official Dot Com Pho restaurant. We also find out who spooned who at the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival at Whistler. In addition, we’re introducing two new features for the Dot Com Pho video; the Gadget of the Week and our Dot Com Pho sponsors. Enjoy!

Want to be part of Dot Com Pho?

Anyone is welcome to join us for Dot Com Pho. We meet every Saturday at Pho Lan in Richmond (unless we decide to do Dot Com Something Else) at 12:30 in the afternoon. If you wish to attend, then please send one of the Pho goers a note/email so we can save a seat for you.

  1. That was not only the largest, but the wackiest DotComPho we have had. I still don’t think we determined who spooned who in Whistler though.

    1. Googlelady says:

Happy to see that DotComPho is getting bigger, who knows it will be another conference like the one in San Francisco πŸ™„

      1. Flimjo says:

There’s not way it can stay this small with the continual attention it gets on this blog.

    2. Ed Lau says:

Just to be clear, I was no involved in any of the man-spooning.

      1. Leo says:

Whatever Ed, you were the caboose!

    3. MR. NICE GUY says:

  2. Stephen says:

Yeah, that had to be one of the biggest Dot Com Pho’s ever. I was surprised that Lan didn’t kill someone πŸ˜†

    1. Zedomax says:

Lol…that was the funniest John Chow video ever. Great job guys. πŸ˜† I will sponsor some SiteHoppin Beer Stock for your next Dot Com Pho. πŸ˜†

    2. Michael Kwan says:

I don’t know how I ended up being the first one there, but the look on Lan’s face when I told him it would be “about 15” was priceless. And haunting.

      1. Stephen says:

Looks like an angry frown doesn’t it? That’s why I try to be late πŸ˜†

  3. Simon says:

That’s a nifty little tripod, i just picked up the gorolliapod and I’m looking forward to testing it out.

  4. Verbal says:

I have one of the logitech mice (actually I have two) it is great. the moto tri-pod looks great but, sounds kind of pricey.

    1. Stephen says:

It’s Italian! Of course it’s expensive! Mama mia! πŸ˜€

However, you could probably find it for around $25 – 30 bucks on the street.

      1. Simon says:

Look for a knock-off with some toxic steel and it’ll be 10 bucks πŸ™‚

        1. Stephen says:

Cancer and reproductive problems are standard 😈

  5. Verbal says:

Can’t find the Moto Pod on manfrotto site!

  6. Paolo U says:

that is the biggest dot com pro ever!

  7. Well its not quite a a Sopranos style “meet” but it IS turning into something. And it’s organic. Lot of respect for that. Just you guys meeting, then add a camera, then add a sponser, then add a gadget of the week, invite others….

It’s a great natural progression. I like where it’s headed.

  8. Fitness Site says:

    what is pho ? πŸ™„

    1. John Chow says:

Phở is served as a bowl of white rice noodles in clear beef broth, with thin cuts of beef (steak, fatty flank, lean flank, brisket). Variations featuring tendon, tripe, meatballs, chicken leg, chicken breast, or other chicken organs (heart, liver, etc.) are also available.

      1. Fitness Site says:

        lol, thanks.
I thought it refers to some person. πŸ˜†

      2. Thats so scary for a person like me who never eat an egg 100% vegitarian

        1. Ed Lau says:

Sucks to be you, then. Vegetarians miss out on all the best stuff.

  9. Did everyone really get a monitor?

    1. John Chow says:

What’s 16 LCD monitors to a company the size of Samsung Electronics? 😈

      1. Paolo U says:

Free monitor for everybody. I sure envy you.

      2. Ed Lau says:

I don’t know what I’m going to do with this…I already have two 24″ LCDs on my desktop.

Maybe I’ll put it in the kitchen or something. It’ll probably end up in the closet.

        1. Leo says:

          I stole Stephen’s, so I have two now πŸ˜‰

  10. Mike Huang says:

Seems like Leo got the “Bun Thit Nuong Ca Gio” for the Dot Com Pho ;). I love eating that dish, but he’s missing the shrimp pieces.

  11. Chetan says:

I am a vegetarian.. So i cant be included in?

    1. Michael Kwan says:

I don’t think they have any vegetarian dishes. Even the plain noodles come in a beef stock.

  12. Pyjammez says:

I want to goto dot com pho πŸ™ When I’m rich I will πŸ™‚ Just gotta finish some of these websites I’ve started god damnit. Seems like I enjoy creating the site more than finishing it.

    1. Michael Kwan says:

When you’re rich? A bowl of noodles is like seven bucks…

      1. Stephen says:

Around $5.50 if you go for the small one.

        1. Ed Lau says:

It’s only okay to order a small if you’re a girl…or if you ordered a large as well.

  13. Terry Tay says:

I bet is ranking better than my site right now πŸ˜†

I guess what happens in Whistler, SF, Vegas, etc. doesn’t stay in Whistler, SF, Vegas, etc., it stays on John CHow’s blog for all to see and hear about πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜†

  14. Sunduvan says: if I am gay what are you gonna do? Killing me? 😈 πŸ‘Ώ

  15. A new dish, Molten Lava Beef Stew, yummy!

    1. Terry Tay says:

George likes his chicken spicy πŸ˜†

  16. Siddharth says:

Pho is everywhere and the little guy is amazed by that too. Samsung monitors to everybody, thats great if you are not pho ing us!! πŸ˜€

  17. soares says:

  18. Wade says:

I would be there, but first you gotta share your traffic with me. Then when I get rich, I will fly there about once a month.

  19. I grew up in Richmond and moved to Calgary a few years ago. I have got to get back and check out the dot com pho one of these Saturdays now that I know the location and time

  20. Jeff Kee says:

haha not many people know the proper pronunciation! I knew it though.

    1. Michael Kwan says:

For the longest time, John was convinced that it was pronounced “fur”. We tried to tell him that it’s more like “fuh” and, well, he’d have no part of it.

  21. Ronald Su says:

Is it true everyone gets a Samsung LCD??
It it is i would be there next Sat!

    1. Stephen says:

      One time only! 😈

    2. Ed Lau says:

Next week will be something different.

I still don’t know what to do with mine. Maybe I’ll make it a wall clock or something. I have more monitors than I know what to do with.

  22. Is this an invite only event or can anyone come?

I’ve never had Pho. I thought Pho was some really rich dude with a lot of restaurants in Vancouver. I think I remember one on Kingsway that’s called “Pho Bich Nga” or something. Sounds really funny.

    1. Ed Lau says:

Anyone can come to Dot Com Pho. Just let one of us know ahead of time so we can get the appropriate number of seats.

      1. Is it at the same place / time every time, or is it a different location / place announced each time?

        1. Ed Lau says:

Pho Lan, Saturday @ 12:30pm unless we decide to do something different…which doesn’t happen often. Sometimes we do Dot Com Dim Sum or Dot Com Tandori or Dot Com Burgers or whatever.

  23. Syed Balkhi says:

I will have to contact you if I ever come to Canada maybe you can hold some on that time ..
