When the host stopped running it, I started the Carnival of Wheels. It generates consistent quality traffic, helps PR and even gives me ideas for new content. The only thing to remember is that writing a good carnival takes time. To write meaningful commentary on submissions, you need to actually read all of them, rather than just skimming. On weeks where I have had 15 or 16 submissions it can take a few hours of my Sunday. I used to contribute to the Carnival of Cars. When the host stopped running it, I started the Carnival of Wheels.
