In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a game of blog tag running throughout the blogsphere. The game is pretty simple; you write five things about you that most people don’t know about and then you tag five other bloggers to do the same. I was tagged by Chris Sandberg.
Here are five things you may not know about John Chow.
1 - One of my best friends in high school was Terry Driver. He grew up to be the Abbotsford Killer. There are rumors that I provoked him into becoming a serial killer but I assure you, it’s completely untrue.
2 - A long time ago in China, some friends and I were throwing some rocks over a fence of trees. It was just a little game of who can throw rocks the furthest. After about five minutes of rocking throw, a rock came flying back at us! This was followed by another rock, then another. What started out as a friendly game of who can throw rocks the furthest turned into a full scale rock flight. We never did find out who was on the other side of the trees. As far as I know, no one got hurt in the battle but the rumor is I killed a family of pandas. That is not true - no pandas were harmed in the great rock fight of China.
3 - My first job was at MacDonald’s. I lasted 4 hours before quitting. My second job was at the call center of a carpeting cleaning business. I lasted 4 weeks before getting fired. My third job was selling car audio at A&B Sound. I lasted 7 months before getting fired. I have never worked at a job since.
4 - When I was in high school, I use to steal student’s lunch money playing Three-Card Monte. This is a card game played with two Jacks and a Queen. The object is to find the Queen after I mixed the cards. It’s seems simple enough but the truth of the matter is it’s a con game. The only person who wins is me and my team. I think this was when the “Root of all evil” thing started.
5 - One time while doing the Grouse Grind, I pissed off a bunch of grinders by passing them backwards. I’m sure they wanted to beat me up but they were too tired. To add insult to injury, when we got to the top, I did a video commentary on the people we passed.
Now it’s time to tag some fellow bloggers! Stephen Fung, Ed Lau, Carl Nelson, Jon Waraas, and Bob Buskirk. Tag, you’re it!

Wow, thats quite a list. So none of those rocks flying back at you guys hit you?
A few came close! But none connected.
I saw your camera man zoom in on those knockers for a second then he realized it was family entertainment so he zoomed back out
You need to make a one hour special back at Grouse Grind, and ground up some more grinders while they try to make it up top. That was awesome. Very funny.
haha. That grouse grind tape is quality entertainment. and your camera man is a perv ;P
I love these tag games, I got hit on wednesday or thursday. Lots of fun and the stuff you learn about other people.
I’d still like to know how you provoked him into being a serial killer?
John you need to tell them about your tennis match with the ABBOTSFORD KILLER. I’m sure that had something to do with him killing that girl and raping her dead body!
Carl - I don’t think the readers are ready to hear that story.
Blog Tag! 5 Things About Me
The latest trend to hit blogs is Blog Tag. Basically, you make a post describing 5 things about yourself that readers may not have known about you, and link to a couple of your friends’ blogs. Then they do the same! And so on, and so on. So let&#…
Ahh, making fun of the elderly. Pure comedy, almost as funny as seeing grannys fall on ice.
Don’t let this man fool you! He kills baby pandas!
[...] So John did this Blog Tag thing on his site. The premise is rather simple and not unlike chain letters sent around in the mid-90s which threatened to kick you off ICQ, shut down the internet or send things to kill you, whether they be ghosts, pandas or hitmen, if you didn’t comply. However, it’s been awhile since I’ve followed along so why the heck not. And for the record, I never replied to chain letters and I’ve yet to see any rabid pandas on the prowl. [...]
[...] I first found John’s site back in September when I noticed his post on The Internet’s Biggest Google Whores posted over at Digg.com. I found his post to be interesting and it intrigued me to read more of his blog. After more reading and watching how often he updated the blog (daily at least… sometimes several times a day), I was hooked and started reading it every day. He posts on everything and anything really but most of his work is based on his background in internet marketing, promotion, and money-making. Don’t let that fool ya though since in the same day he’ll post pictures of his dinner from last night (yeah, you heard that right… his dinner) or some odd rambling post about his inspiring serial killers or killing pandas (for instance, this blog entry from just a couple days ago. As you can see, his work is entertaining, informative, and eclectic all at the same time. Not many blogs can make that claim and yet John seems to do it with an ease and grace rarely seen. All that said, I’d highly recommend you check out his site and read some of his Top Posts to get a crash course in the world of John Chow! [...]
[...] Well it looks like I have been tagged by my good friend John Chow. He wants me to tell you 5 things you didn’t know about me. Well I usually do not hide that much from people so let’s see what I can come up with… [...]
Haha.. I’m kinda addicted to Blog Tagging. I think most bloggers get fired from their jobs.
Strange.
[...] In one of John’s most recent posts, he states: “My first job was at MacDonald’s. I lasted 4 hours before quitting. My second job was at the call center of a carpeting cleaning business. Seriously I want to hear the story about the killer as well, you mentioned it once before and Im sure that it would make for good reading.
I got tagged by Ed, so here’s my part of the blog tag universe: Blog Tag: Five things about Michael Kwan.

LOL, my first job was at McDonalds also. I lasted a little longer than 4 hours. I actually worked there the summer between my 8th and 9th grades. It was hell, but my friends loved it since they ended up with bags full of food…:)
[...] Today, I am writing a follow up review of John Chow, but this time as John “the humanitarian”. I read his site daily, and the more I read the more I come to realize that there is much more to John Chow than his entreprenuerial and monetary accomplishments - he is a fan of the people; and a fan of seeing others succeed. Many of John Chow’s posts and actions come from the goodness of his heart, even though he jokes about being the “root of all evil” and throwing rocks at a family of pandas. [...]
[...] if all the other 1999 bloggers had the same idea? Maybe John Chow is not the only root of all evil. Maybe evil has 2000 roots. if (typeof window.Delicious == “undefined”) window.Delicious = {}; [...]
