This article explains how to geographically distribute a web site for $100 or less per month,
including web hosting, geo-ip services, and DNS services.

Hi there,

I decided to check out MonsterHosting.ca based on the recommendation from this blog [and the discount code]. It looks good, but I found a problem on their site even before signing up.

I emailed the technical support team at 10AM [15jan07] clearly outlining the issue. No reply after 26 hours and the problem still exists.

I then mmailed their sales department [forwarding the message from the previous day] at Noon - no reply after 20 hours and the problem still exists.

Check it out. You will be able to search for and register a new domain name here http://www.monsterhosting.ca/ because it is available, but when you go here http://monsterdomains.ca/ to do the same thing, it says that the same domain name is *not* available and you can only transfer the name [which no one else owns] to their service.

I think this is a major issue. Even if it is not, the fact that my email received no reply [and the problem still exists] concerns me as to their overall commitment to customer support.

A Google search of "reviews monsterhosting.ca" reveals/confirms some of my concerns.

Choose wisely,

Mr. Al

[...] I first came across the name when a blogging friend of mine, who happens to be married to a charming fellow who runs a hosting company, MonsterHosting.ca brought our attention to a very kind review that they had received from John Chow. It was perfect timing as I was about to launch myself into the world of hosting and Word Press blogging. I had, of course already been looking at their hosting services, but thanks to John Chow, I received a nice discount when I signed on! And yes, I am very happy with their services!
[...] After the number 1 question of what webhost do I use to host this blog, the number 2 most asked question is, “How do you set up the Google AdSense ads on your blog?” This question comes up a lot because the reader notices that my blog always limits the Google ads to three (Google’s limit). So, if you scroll pass the first two posts on the front page, you won’t see any more Google ads. However, if you click on any of those posts, the inline Google ad will appear inside the post.
We provide a decent hosting service that runs out of our data center in Florida called Michelonia. Hosting for as little as $2 per month with a free domain included. We have even survived a week when we experienced over 3,000,000 hits on on ArgentinaBrunetti.com upon her death. Just for information, she was Mrs. Martini in the film "It's a Wonderful Life". Her 68 year old son has continued her blog since then....might want to take a look.
