Blog World Expo - John Chow Soda
written by John Chow on September 19th, 2008

Jones Soda is one of the sponsors of Blog World Expo and as part of their promotion, they’ve put photos of some of the speakers on their soda bottles. As luck would have it, Jones put me on their orange & cream soda, which is one of my favorite flavors.
I wanted to drink the soda but Jones only made a dozen bottles per speaker. The only other speaker with the same flavor was Wendy Piersall of Sparkplugging. So I drank her bottle instead. After I drank her bottle, I went to the show floor, tracked down Wendy and gave her the empty bottle. You can see her reaction in this video.

Oh Steven, what a great idea. You’re a genius!
Reply to this commentJohn Chow is turning into a criminal. Stealing t-shirts from everyone, and now all the orange and cream sodas. And if it’s not his sodas he’s stealing, he’s drinking everyone else’s.
Reply to this commentHaha that is freaking awesome. Having your picture on a soda bottle is a really cool idea. Sounds like you are having lots and lots of fun and I am a little jealous. I have to make sure I will be there next year
Reply to this commentI just did a little research on the Jones Soda thing, and John, you missed out on making some big money.
Jones soda has an affiliate program you could be a part of. You get 10% commission on every sale.
People could have clicked through your affiliate link, bought their own personalized Jones Soda for $30, and you would have gotten rich and could retire.
Reply to this commentSmart Cookie, indeed they have one.
Reply to this commentOne thing, John. Viddler seems to be really reducing the audio in your videos. They were much louder and clearer on YouTube.

Reply to this commentI don’t know how the hell I missed this post, but I had to drop by to tell you that you ROCK. As in ROCK STAR, because only rock stars get onto Jones Soda bottles.
(No, no, it’s a complete fabrication that *anyone* can get their picture on a Jones Soda bottle. Really, don’t even try to find them because you won’t. Trust me on this one.)
