Blogger Speed Dating
written by John Chow on December 20th, 2007
I have never tried speed dating. By the time it was invented I was already married. Those who have tried speed dating told me it was a lot of fun. Now the next generation of speed dating is upon us. Meebo and SpeedDate.com have teamed up to bring you video speed dating.
What better way to kick off the program than by showing a bunch of well know bloggers doing a video speed date. My only complaint is the video is too short. I would have love to see the full five or 10 minute date. I’m sure some enterprising web people will figure out a way to make money from this. Maybe a paid speed dating matchmaking service?

Reply to this commentWell…Irina sure has a speed date last name
Reply to this commentI’ve never really liked the idea of speed dating, and I don’t know anybody who developed a healthy relationship with somebody they met speed dating. Video speed dating just removes another layer of interaction.
Reply to this commentthat is why it’s called dating i guess since it’s the first process of knowing the person better.. after couple of shots!
if things went fine the following day.. a next close encounter follows!
Reply to this commentThat is a pretty fresh idea though.
Reply to this commentUmm a friend met his wife and mom of her daughter online, well not actually on speeddating.com

Reply to this commentall I have to say is WTF
Reply to this commentHmm, take the concept of speed dating, which already creates an awkward environment for 2 people looking for love, then videotape some samples and post it on the web for all to see and laugh at.
Works for me.
Reply to this commentWow, talk about the future of dating haha

Reply to this commentHey,
Reply to this commentThis thing seems pretty cool, thats probably cuz i’m still single!
Anyways if you can get about a 1000 referrals for Agloco, then there are a lot of paid to click websites which could actually pay you big cash for such big referrals!
You can click here to visit my blog to see how it works!
um, i believe in inperson dating. theres nothing like being in front of someone.
Reply to this commentThanks for showing, basically i think speed dating is for people who are busy and don’t have the time to date. Speed dating could be the future dating and the video shows that all of them took part in it have a lot of fun and maybe it could help some people to get a real date.
Reply to this commentThe guys looked like on the first date :)) .
Reply to this comment“I’m a terminal guy ….” :))- common man , is the first time you see a girl or what :))
John, speed dating has been around a long time!
The only problem with speed dating by video (for me) is that I am MUCH better looking in person! I really don’t photograph very well. I can only imagine what a VIDEO would be like!
How to you translate enthusiasm (and the rush of chemicals, if you’re interested) to the other party if you can’t even get close!
Supposedly, it’s pheremones (sp?) which help us get together - initially. After that, a chemical cocktail called PEA in the brain keeps that ‘in love’ feeling from between 18 months and 3 years - long enough to procreate, eh?
Biology wins most of the time. I’ll stick to the more common ways - I’d take a class! You already start off on common ground with other people and study sessions can be more interesting that way!
Heck, I’m already in a long term relationship, I’d only be looking for friends at this point. It’s all good!
