Blogging The Movie Needs One More Blogger

written by John Chow on November 10, 2007

How one lazy bum made $176,697.50

While at Blog World Expo, I got a chance to meet and hang out with Prija from Blogging The Movie. For those who don’t what that is you can check my review of concept here.

Blogging The Movie is a film that follows the lives of ten bloggers, one of whom is me. It will be interesting having a film crew following around for a week. Anyways, the film needs one more blogger in order to fill that tenth slot. This slot will go to an up and coming blogger who is struggling to make his name in the blogshere. If you think you have an interesting story to tell, then why not audition for that last spot. It just might make you famous.

Here is a video of the promo from Blogging The Movie.

Have they cut a new trailer yet?

The evil Chow empire takes one more step towards world domination...

Interesting promo video. Alas I am not yet ready to try for the last position. Congrats for hitting it.

Oh cool! Kinda like Meerkat Manor... but with Lemmings instead! :)

John Chow Manor hahahah with a lot of mini John Chows.

We should name his haircut... the "John Chow".

Congratulations! It sounds like it's going to be a really interesting doco... especially as it will be the first of its kind. Go the bloggers!!

Ugh, I was just getting into listening to that blue Weezer album because I hadn't heard it in awhile and now you make me turn that off to watch and listen to these videos.

You are evil...

Some big names there, didn't realise

This is an awesome concept, and if they can pull it off I think it'd be a huge success just because there's already a huge following for these guys.

Now what they would actually tape is beyond me... 10 people sitting behind their computers and blogging all day? so exciting.. haha

There's more to these people then typing at the computer lol...

Can you imagine?
9AM... blogging...
10AM at the computer...
11.. blogging...
12... lunch...
1PM... blogging...
2 PM toilet break

Yes it sounds great...all reading the same rss feeds...
Maybe they'll manage to get a car chase in there somewhere

Hey,

What happened to my invite?

It seems kind of exciting for new bloggers to watch a movie like this.

What exactly is the format going to be? A documentary or a feature film? Or like a docu-drama? Quite a line up you have there!

Wouldn't it be cool if it was a mockumentary?

I`m very keen to see the final product. I think Prija has done a great job with the teaser so far.

Should be interesting and I can't wait to see the final product. I've followed several of these blogs for a while now so it will be neat to see what each person is like in their daily lives.

We'll get to see all their bad habits like drinking orange juice out of the cartonnnn...

Although I know I look good on cameras  and such a publicity is what I need to give my blog a kick start but I gotta say NO. I dont like cameras. Well if you ask me, I do have a very interesting and touching story  but I can't imagine a film crew is following me even when im in the toilet!

Wow... that would be controverial for sure... BLOGGER IN THE TOILET ALERT!!!BRING THE CAMERAS!!!

I think this is a very interesting sounding project and with blogging being such a worldwide phenomenon touching so many lives today, it will give people real insight into what blogging is all about, what it entails and the pressures surrounding the job, which is a business venture in much the same way as any other.

Yeah I would definitely like to be a part of this because I am trying to do exactly that. I don't know if they would be interested though..

I'm curious to see who the last blogger is going to be as well . . good times in Vegas John . . . like you said, the networking was priceless!

Key word of the week.. "mad connect" - referring to mad connections, or extremely priceless networking.. hahah. Thanks John. I'll keep you posted.

This is what makes johnchow.com so great - we get to learn the latest and the greatest, just by visiting!

This is important stuff that bloggers need to know and it's all right here.

Thanks John,

Oooo Lots of "Make Money Online" in the cast already. I guess you guys like to show off more :).

Not sure if I'd even have a chance to be the rookie blogger.

John, could you get the message to them that their sound is awful? I sure hope the whole movie isn't going to be like that. If they can't afford a good microphone, maybe you could buy them one.

Also, it may be too late, but it seems like many of the blogs are "how I make money telling people how to make money". Nothing wrong with that, of course, but there should also be enough variety in the mix.

I assume that anything with your name on it (especially as the first headliner) is going to have superior quality. Make it so.

This is not a real movie is it? I mean, is it a professional one or done by amateurs?

It's going to be done by Paper Plane Productions. Please read the film crew page on Blogging The Movie for more information on who is involved.

This Documentary will be a hit. John Chow and his slingshot will make sure of that.

Haha I can't wait to see this! Maybe I should apply and they will see that my site is having lots of giveaways right now plus a coupon to redeem 2 free movie rentals, popcorn and 2 coke products :)

Forgot to mention that the coupon is redeemable at all Blockbusters.

So the blockbuster coupon was actually a fake!! :) What a great way to increase my credibility.

I guess the last blogger would be the rookie of the year blogger which the competition is still on going? Anyway there are just too many bloggers involved, let's see who is the lucky one.

That would be interesting. It will be interesting to see how this gets marketed and released (it could be released in a unique medium).

i love documentaries. since i new to blogging a docu about blogging is a great idea and i would definitely watch it. but what's up with the trailer. Judging by the trailer it seems like the movie will not be so good. note to filmmakers...Cute a new trailer cause that one sucks.

hmm this will be really interesting shoemoney darren john chow hmm and everyone else!

it looks like TV is going to be obsolete soon!

Well lets hope that us the small fishes will learn something from this "Following the life of bloggers" show.

I'll be watching it, btw what happened with Joel's Millionaire ?
