Blogworld Expo – 2010 Lincoln MKT Test Drive

written by John Chow on October 16, 2009

Make Money!

Not every company exhibiting at Blogworld Expo in Las Vegas is blogging related. As a matter of fact, the 2009 Blogworld featured an extremely diverse group of companies. They range from half hour meals to the Ford Motor Company. What’s an auto maker doing at a blogging show? For the same reason as every other exhibitor. Bloggers have money and Ford wants a piece.

Ford brought along a nice sampling of their vehicles for the attendees at Blogworld to test drive, including a Mustang GT and the new 2010 Lincoln MKT. This is a cross over based on the Ford Flex. The MKT features lots of high tech gadgets, like pedal shifters, push button engine start, voice command, automatic self parking and a 3.5L EcoBoost engine that produces 355 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s a lot of power for a cross over. Watch the video to see if we brought the car back in one piece.

If this car exports to my country, the cost would be $100k+, so you can see how many percentage the government charge for it.

Great ride John!

The bip when parking can be really annoying when you listen it 4 to 5 times per day :D

Lee Ka Hoong October 17, 2009 at 8:23 am

Wow that’s cool, auto parking man, I’ve never saw such car in my country, but I’ve saw such car in TV before, and John you drive it now!

John, are you going to get one for yourself too? ;)

John Chow October 17, 2009 at 11:58 am

No I don’t plan on buying one. It’s too much like a station wagon for my taste.

Lee Ka Hoong October 18, 2009 at 7:16 pm

Yea, that what I just thought. It looks like styles are going backwards to the 1970′s & 80′s.

Chrome Bulbs October 17, 2009 at 5:47 pm

If only this car came with Chrome Bulbs standard, THEN it may be worth getting. ;)

Not bad looking, but it reminds me of the old style station wagons you don’t see any longer like the one in National Lampoon’s Family Vacation.

Slick looking ride. Time to get those rolled out to the dealerships and hit the streaes!

The autopark feature is pretty impressive. I was expecting a drift video based on “see if we brought the car back in one piece.” What was the drive train? RWD?

It would have been awesome to see a video of you scaring the pee out of all the passengers by drifting.

The car reminds me of the UFO Acura TL :D
