BlogWorld Expo New York – Opening Keynote

The opening keynote of BlogWorld Expo was delivered by Gary Vaynerchuk, Jeffrey Hayzlett and H.P. Mallory. Mostly, I just took note of what Gary said because Gary tends to take over any presentation with his high power presence.

Social Media has become a critical driver of business in more than just the marketing and PR departments. Social Media is changing the rules for sales, customer service , product development and more. It’s propelling leading companies and radically changing the face of entire industries.

What are the important realization both new and old media companies need to understand to enable themselves to compete in this brave new always on 24/7 media world? Do customers really control your brand image more than you do? How can you effect change within your organization to keep up with this media revolution, even when it isn’t seen as your role within the company to do so?

The keynote was designed to answer those questions, but it was mostly used as a session on how to publish your own book, whether by self publishing like H.P. did or going through a publisher like Gary and Jeffrey did. I came away impressed and I also got Gary to give me a signed copy of his new book.
