Bugatti Veyron At 253MPH
written by John Chow
Ever wonder what 253MPH in a Bugatti Veyron feels like? Well, the nut cases at Top Gear decided to find out. I hear that Volkswagen does set up special private events for Bugatti owners to try their hand at going 253MPH on the Volkswagen test track. I’m sure many Bugatti owners jump at the chance but I have to wonder if any have reached the magic top speed? My bet is most will chicken out at around 230MPH. Enjoy the video.

You could at least make it relating to the post… just a little…
Yeah, no kidding. That’s just spam.
That is awesome!.. i don’t think i would be able to drive that fast without filling my pants!
What about in what you’re wearing in your avitar???
I put it into perspective on my site: the 2008 Viper is about half the power of this beast!
Wow, i didn’t think about it like that…good reference.
Here are some ore stats: the 2008 Dodge Viper has a 8.4 liter engine which puts out 600 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque!
I hope this blog doesn’t turn out to be littered with 1st comment posts like other websites.
Probably, but it’ll be easy to ignore. Just stop reading the first post.
253mph, 407kph, that’s faster than a Twin Engine Beechcraft Baron !
Can you imagine the sound of four turbochargers spinning up?! That would be awesome!
That would really crack the glass windows out there. Oops, I forgot there were none around to speak of..
Wow, I didn’t think about that. That would probably make me cry
The whoosh of air being sucked into them must be impressive. Consider how much air it needs to go through as it propels itself to this speed…
serious and the 10 radiators it needs to keep it cool…wow.
I would have guessed four at the most - but 10!! That’s crazy!
wow…the whine of those!!! must be quite the sound!!!
Apparently it comes with 2 keys, the second key is to activate the ‘top speed’ option when you need to go really fast.
I love that the car squats down to lower the center of gravity!
This is true. I love this car.
That’s a very sensible feature to offer
I had heard about it before though. I don’t think it’s unique to this car.
You wouldn’t want to accidentally hit that top speed
I’m sure the car wouldn’t let you, it probably locks it out once the car is started.
None.
There’s no where to go faster than 160 km/hr here. Well, I daresay that I would definitely chicken out at that speed.
wuss…hehehe…i’d pee my pants!!!
Ewwww…
I have driven faster than 160 km/hr here, and that was on the road, granted in the middle of the night, but if I had a car that could accelerate faster, I could have, not saying I would have, but I could have gone a lot faster…
That’s 405km/h for those of us who use the metric system.
Amazing car, fantastic show. I wish I could watch it more often.
Seriously, how can you not think Top Gear is the best show ever?!
Saman how can you say that when we have Heroes?
Top Gear is definetly the best non-fiction show on tv. I went through a period where I was downloading old Top Gear shows non-stop. I had to stop myself when I realised I was spending most of my day watching the show and getting no work done.
Those three guys have the best job in the world.
Heroes is awesome - but Top Gear is great!!
I like my TV To be fiction
Well, it’s actually 24, then Top Gear…and Heroes is prolly like #3 or 4.
And, yes…they do have the coolest job in the world.
What about Entourage, Rome and Lost?!
I like it. Nice list. Soprano’s is up there for me too.
Top Gear magazine is even better. Too bad it is only available in the UK.
Is it my the producers of the show?
I’ve seen Top Gear magazine (and other British car magazines) for sale at Barnes & Noble, Borders, and many newsstands in the U.S.
Better still is if you could actually go 300-350 Km/H to go somewhere. Now that would be awesome until you hit something…
Love that car, have you seen these pictures.
The man smashed up £750,000 Car then lost his driving license.

Hahahaha nice going! Smashing up a car that’s only one of 300… we should get that guy a medal or something!
He was on the Bugatti waiting list for a year and then he’d only had it a week before ruining it.
I guess he just went overboard with that new toy of his. I wouldn’t have gone that far to ruin it, though.
That could have happened to any of us too, who could resist putting that car through its paces?!
I would never spend that much money on a car, even if I could afford it. So it wouldn’t happen to me
Dave : then you’re not imaginative enough
There are very few things I wouldn’t buy if I could afford them. But I mean truly afford, not just have the amount of money to buy them. There is a difference between the two.
Right, if you had the money to even consider buying the car, you would have a garage full of exotics already!
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Now that’s a great quote! I love that one
I do share the sentiment. Losing it from a financial standpoint is a big deal. But the fact that there are now only 299 others left and he’s unlikely to ever get another one it the real gut wrenching part.
Amazing car. I could’ve watched a much higher quality version of this off of our server, but I’m not sure what episode it is.
WOW!!!

Fantastic.
Impressive
Superb
I wonder when I’ll have one like it?
If you don’t get rich this year, never. Because there will be newer ones on the market
I wonder what the waiting list is like…

I’m still wondering how fast it does on their track.
That would be cool to see it drifting around their track!
