Bugatti Veyron At 253MPH

written by John Chow on March 25, 2007

Make Money!

Ever wonder what 253MPH in a Bugatti Veyron feels like? Well, the nut cases at Top Gear decided to find out. I hear that Volkswagen does set up special private events for Bugatti owners to try their hand at going 253MPH on the Volkswagen test track. I’m sure many Bugatti owners jump at the chance but I have to wonder if any have reached the magic top speed? My bet is most will chicken out at around 230MPH. Enjoy the video.

253MPH...I cannot begin to say how seriously impressed I am. Now I know what Superman drives.

A simply amazing car, now what does it take to get a spot as a test drive on Top Gear

That has got to be the craziest experience to go that fast in a stock car. I would like to think that I could go that fast, but I wouldn't know. How about that wind resistance? I'm an engineering major, so I can just imagine what speeds like that do to the paint and other parts of the car. The car would probably wear out pretty fast at constant speeds like that.

Adam

lol, 5km straight stretch  surprised the veyron didn't have to stop for fuel half way through..

Saw that video a few days ago...it's incredible. I'm surprised he didn't pee his pants at that speed!

Wow, that was awesome!

The car is going so fast that you couldn´t see it

Going at 407km/h its passing 1 football field per second! like the guy said in the video.

Like the car.
It will not really do 250 miles in an hour though.
It runs out of gas long before it gets that far.

haha...yes...after 12 minutes..which is nowhere near an hour!!!

Top Gear is a great show.. the best of British!

No Kidding!!! I love that show!!!

You can find more information about this car at my blog. http://cartuning2007.blogspot.com

wow.. Seems like you are dealing with all the exotic cars over there! :D

This car is too much, I want it, I need it! I know of a highway out in New Mexico that I could have some awesome fun on with this car, wonder if the bank would loan me some cash for this?

Right me if I'm wrong, but isn't koenigsegg the fastest car?

It was. The Veyron broke the the Koenigsegg's 241MPH top speed.

One of the best episodes was when the Stig crashed the Koenigsegg. I didn't see that coming. The follow up episode was even better.

If you've got some time I suggest tracking those episodes down.

That was an awesome episode. It was good to see what happens when Stig really pushs a car to its limit.

1001 HP. My god  What an incredible machine. I can't even think that fast

Awesome car!

Sadly, I don't think I'd have the stones to get this car to it's top speed :(

I do, just hand over the keys!

Oh man....

Sadly, I really don't think I'd have the balls to take it anywhere near it's top speed

Looks like your ReviewMe price went down a little. The rollercoaster life of making money online.

Take Care,

Michael

Man I wish I'll get to drive that kind of car one day.

I'm surprise you didn't get one for yourself John !?

Very cool! That's one of the coolest cars I have ever seen. I take it 'Top Gear' is a British show?

What is special about Top Gears track? Is it really better than VW's?? If so, how?

There is nothing special about Top Gear's track. It's a handling track and not one for top speed testing. A 4,300 lbs. Veyron would have a problem beating the fastest car around that track. Currently, the record is held by a koenigsegg CCX.

But out of all of the fastest cars they've tested at the track, my fav is still the Atom.

It's on an old airport right?

 Its good to see Top Gear finally test that car. Damn that was fast!!
I'm still wondering how fast it does on their track.

That would be cool to see it drifting around their track!

It would definitely topple over. Muscle cars are for speed, leave the drifting to the other class. :D

It wouldn't roll, but it would be squirrelly as hell!

Why would you want to see this drift? What a waste... That's like wanting to watch a professional basketball player play hockey... This is a speed machine designed to go fast, drifting in this thing would be a waste.

With as low as it is, I'm sure that it corners great and it has enough power to fly out of the apex!

WOW!!!
Fantastic.
Impressive
Superb
I wonder when I'll have one like it?

If you don't get rich this year, never. Because there will be newer ones on the market :D

I wonder what the waiting list is like...

Amazing car. I could've watched a much higher quality version of this off of our server, but I'm not sure what episode it is.

Love that car, have you seen these pictures.

The man smashed up £750,000 Car then lost his driving license.

Hahahaha nice going! Smashing up a car that's only one of 300... we should get that guy a medal or something!

He was on the Bugatti waiting list for a year and then he'd only had it a week before ruining it.

I guess he just went overboard with that new toy of his. I wouldn't have gone that far to ruin it, though.

That could have happened to any of us too, who could resist putting that car through its paces?!

I would never spend that much money on a car, even if I could afford it. So it wouldn't happen to me :)

Dave : then you're not imaginative enough ;)

There are very few things I wouldn't buy if I could afford them. But I mean truly afford, not just have the amount of money to buy them. There is a difference between the two.

Right, if you had the money to even consider buying the car, you would have a garage full of exotics already!

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Now that's a great quote! I love that one ;)

I do share the sentiment. Losing it from a financial standpoint is a big deal. But the fact that there are now only 299 others left and he's unlikely to ever get another one it the real gut wrenching part.
