Digital Experience is a press only event put on by Pepcom. It’s a great way to meet companies and talk directly with their PR contacts. The problem with the CES show floor is you end up talking to the wrong person most of the time or the PR people are not at the booth.
Media only events like Digital Experience bring press and company PR together for one night of food, drink and networking. I get lots of work (if you call this work) done at Digital Experience because many of the companies I deal with are here.
To give you an idea on what kind of experience Digital Experience is, I’ve put together this little video. Enjoy, and try not to hate me too much.

One of the most common complaint (or excuse) I hear from potential new bloggers is they don’t know how to install WordPress. Terms like FTP and CPanel are like a foreign language and setting up a database might as well be setting up the space shuttle for a launch. Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...

Great video John, hope you’re having fun
-Mike
When you were at the M&Ms table there was a guy in a white shirt in the background looking at you like, “WTF is that guy doing?” lol.
Nice football kick too, but it would have been more entertaining had you kicked it into the crowd instead.
Maybe you’ll get to blog about some of the chow you found at the Digital Experience.
you’re so funny!!! lots of foods!
made me hungry here.

That is myself. What you saw in the video is how I am in real life.
Lol John. Running around with bunny ears spilling m&m’s everywhere and stealing goodies! Haha. Very cool.
LOL. Where’d the football go? Haha. Cool video John. Those free foods are awesome!
Nice to see you enjoying yourself John. Don’t get up to too much mischief.
I love miniature hamburgers. They make me feel like a giant. I’m going to find something to eat right now. Your blog makes me hungry.

Anyway John, it’s nice to see that you’ve had a good time,
Alan Johnson
Now I know why there is press only events at shows! Nice little rampage you got there John. Hope we can see more footage from the CES 2008?
This was so funny I should put it in my tech blog and show others what is going on in the CES 2008
Sounds like a good idea.
I see that you had lot of fun there! The usb modem look gorgeous, I want one!
Maybe the company making the USB modem should give one to you John and let you give it away on your blog. Now that would generate some publicity and traffic.
I am so mad
I couldn’t make it to CES this year, I am depending on you John to bring us more videos. Please.
Looks like you have a lot of fun.
That really made me chuckle, a 6ft man wandering around in bunny ears stealing food and memory
I’d have stolen a few more M&M’s though!
I really wish I’d gone this year
I wish I’d be able to attend tech exhibits like CES someday.
Gosh John, you are more enticed to the foods than the techs. lol
Makes me hungry, anyway.
Aw, John c’mon now… Google hates you, we dont

Food, drinks and bunny ears, what more could you want?
Haha great vid, good to see you having so much fun, and those bunny ears really suit you, I think you should consider making them a permanent accessory.

Uh.. John,
Stick to being a blogger. I think it’s pretty clear that showbiz isn’t going to be your thing.

John’s got fame in his niche. That’s all you need for showbiz…
Lol John! When you started to attack the little M&M machine, that was funny stuff
Oh my good, the Energizer Bunny does exist
What a goof
looks like lots of fun, too bad I couldn’t make it out there this year (school) but be there next
John….that was the single best piece of CES coverage I’ve seen yet.
Thanks for coming by the booth. -M
uhm, isn’t it a press conference made for meeting new people and eventually closing some business deals? i guess the organizers of such an event would kick you immediatelly out if they had seen what you did there…
If you think that’s the reason for a press conference, then you’re in for a wide eye experience. Beside, Digital Experience is a press party, not a press conference.
You really like to eat a lot.

Here’s a gallery of 62 pics from the event. Enjoy!
