Did they also have a "hit me over the skull repeatedly with a baseball bat" room? Is Alpine begging to be sued? At those kind of sound levels you can do PERMANENT damage to your hearing VERY quickly. However, the hearing loss isn't the worst part. Nope. Not by a long shot. Almost everyone has experienced ringing in the ear (after a concert, for example); but what happens if it doesn't go away? It's called tinnitus -- and it's one of the worst things that can happen to a person (and, unfortunately, I speak from experience). Tinnitus can result from a single exposure to a very loud noise or over time (for example, from listening to an iPod too loudly) and there is no cure. Protect your hearing. Wear earplugs when needed and avoid extremely loud noise entirely (for more info, visit www.ata.org). If you take my simple advice, you'll never have to know how much pain I just saved you.
