yeah, the veyron is quick but it's not the fastest. The callaway sledgehammer corvette was clocked at 254mph on street tires. But i don't know just how "production" this car was though, it was an EXTREMELY limited(as in only 1 was ordered) option. Plus it sold for 200,000 at barrett-jackson last year. So for less than 1/5 the price and even faster(not by much) i'd definately take the 'vette.

John,

Just wondering, what is your favorite car? Do you actually own it yet? I'm a car enthusiast also who's had an NSX. My goal is to get a 360 spider in the next few years but the NSX keeps calling me back!

This must have been skewed towards North American audience, hence the missing Koenigsegg, Pagoni, etc. and the addition of the Viper and Corvette.

Crap, John! I was just about to post this. Great story, but definitely some cars missing from this comparo (Pagani, Zonda, etc. in addition to those already mentioned, woulda been cool too). Regardless, a good little read...even sans the twisties.

where is the carrara gt (the put a 911 turbo in its place HAHA)

where is the Ferrari Enzo

where is the Koenigsegg?

and so on...

I hate that teenagers driving an NSX in OC is regular. But then again, it allows me to charge more for my videography and photography services because of the wealth!

I live in the OC (Orange County), Southern California. My wife and I were leaving Fashion Island (Newport Beach) a couple of weeks ago and she noticed a car being unloaded from a trailer. It isn't uncommon for the mall to have cars on display so I took a closer look - it was a Veyron. I went over to see it as a guy was parking it. Turns out he was taking delivery of it, he had just bought it from a Lambo dealer in Vegas. Get this, when I told him it was a beautiful car (which it is, you have to see it in person) he said, "Yeah, I don't fit in it too well but my wife likes to drive it so I got it for her". The amount of wealth around here is staggering at times.

While the performance figures of the Veyron are certainly impressive, I'd like to see what Lamborghini or some other manufacturer could do with a $1 million price tag. Frankly, if the Bugatti didn't walk all over the rest of the field, I'd wonder where that money was going.

I find the car somewhat ugly, to be honest, but that's just personal preference.

I would have liked to see them throw a Koenigsegg CCX in there too...I think it's a good competitor to this lineup...definately ahead of the Viper, GT, and Corvette at least.
