Checking Out Evergreen Heights And August Views
After our normal Saturday Dot Com Pho, I took the family to check out two new housing developments in Port Moody call Everygreen Heights and August Views. I really do not intend to ever move to Port Moody because it’s too far from the downtown core. However, it’s good to see what my options are.
The two developments are the work of ParkLane Homes. Everygreen Heights homes offer 1800 to 2200 square feet of living space plus a full unfinished basement. They also feature expansive decks, contemporary interior designs, and a private forested backdrop.
The August Views homes have up to 4,000 square feet of living space with entertainment-sized decks (you know how Dot Com Moguls love to entertain), dramatic vaulted ceilings and spacious master suites. Sarah forgot to bring her camera but I managed to get these photos from ParkLine Homes.
Pretty good view huh? For limited time, ParkLane Homes is offering a $20,000 bonus package to upgrade the kitchen, bathroom and lighting. The offer is good until the end of this month. The homes at Evergreen Heights start at $785,000 and $1 million for August Views. If they weren’t located in Port Moody, I would consider them.

Beautiful view from that house!! Imagine waking up to that every morning… but I hear ya on being close to the downtown core…its nice…I’d hate to have to do that commute…

Reply to this commentI live in this area and the morning commute isn’t bad - it’s about 35 mins into Vancouver and you don’t have to cross any bridges!

Reply to this commentNice looking house John. A house like that in my area would run about 1.3 - 1.4 million. The housing prices here in the Chicago north shore suburbs are way high. They make those homes your checking out sound like a great deal, especially with that view.

Reply to this commentPort Moody has relatively low median prices, and it can be a great investment depending on what kidn of lifestyle you live.
I’m a Yaletown/Downtown yuppie, and I will never move to a suburb of any sort - if I ever bought there, it would be purely for investment.
And don’t tell me “Oh jeff you will move to a suburb once you’re married..” I won’t marry a woman who doesn’t want to live downtown with me.
Reply to this commentEveryone who lives in Chicago downtown ends up moving to the suburbs at some point. The suburbs here are not your stereo typical rows of homes and picket fences. The north shore is right on lake Michigan with killer beaches, lots of trees and parks and slick new bars and nightlife close by, all without the hassle of finding parking downtown. If you lived here you’d be a suburbanite in a minute. Give it a few years….

Reply to this commentArchitecture varies on many basis. One of the reasons are climatic circumstances.. I live in a county with (just) 4 million citizens and you wouldn’t ever make any resemblance from the south and the north region..

Here in Chile, real state is far more cheaper than in developed countries like Canada, although it depends on the region of course. For example, you can get a very nice house, in a small island in the island of Chiloé for a some bucks more than $10000 USD, and they have TERRIFIC views

Reply to this commentIs the 1 million price tag a good price? Around here (St. John’s, Newfoundland), that same house in a nice neighborhood would only cost around $330k - $350k.
