Checking Out Some Suzhou Gardens & Temples

written by John Chow on May 24th, 2008

Suzhou is well known for having some really nice gardens and temples and it’s the main reason most tourists come here. We spent a full day driving around the city to check out some of these places.

The first garden we checked out was call the Lingering Garden. It was basically a very big house built for some emperor during the Ming Dynasty. The other garden was call the Lion Garden. It had a maze made of rocks that supposedly look like lions. If you don’t know which way you’re going, you can get lost in there for hours.

We also climbed the tallest temple in Suzhou and rung the big bell at the Hanshan Temple. That bell was pretty loud. Enjoy the video.

Nice video. With all your videos I almost feel like I’m in China and perhaps I don’t need to take a trip there since I’ve seen it all through you. You needed to put more muscle into that bell ring though John.

Wow that’s really cool. You should take some pictures for high definition viewing. Or maybe call sony and ask for a free high def cam? I see some part but it’s kind of blurry.
I hope you are having fun in China, I want to go lol

The video quality from the Flip is very good. However, Youtube compresses it way too much.

Youtube does compress the video too much, the problem is that they’re not the only video service on the internet and think even though they’re the pioneers they’re losing a lot of users to other website that does the same thing, such as Metacafe.

It is so interesting how busy and stressful the streets look but how calm the gardens are. I guess they need that contrast to help lower the stress levels!
