Computex 2007 - Dueling Booth Babes
One of the coolest/funniest thing that breaks out at Computex every year are the booth babe duels. For whatever reasons, many companies schedule their product demos at the same time as the next booth. This results in two or more demo teams trying to out talk each other. It’s really funny to watch. Many times the duels end up in a draw. However, in the duel that pitted the Apacer babes against the Thermaltake babes, Thermaltake clearly won. No doubt because they were giving away free hammers.
The below video features the Hitachi demo babes going up against the Apogee demo/dance babes. I have to give the edge to the Hitachi girls because they were just damn hot. Part way through the video, you’ll see some roaming floor babes from AData walking between the two demo teams to try and make some show goers follow them to their booth.
Why don’t we have booth babes duels in North American trade shows?

Reply to this commentJohn always bring the fun on the blog
btw, i think it’s TTZmedia call to bring the booth babes on North American trade shows. how do you think john?
Reply to this commentIt seems that if they need babes to lure you into their booth, they must not have much of a product. Maybe that’s what up and coming blogs need as well.
Oh well, I guess noting never changes. Sex sells.
Reply to this commentAgreed. But did you see how the danced?
Reply to this commentThe funny thing abou the dancing is they were dancing hip hop to Britney Spears earlier now its hip hop to Marilyn Monroe 50s jazz…
Reply to this commentyes.. it’s time for companies to have a good product AND hot babes. jk lol. I somewhat agree with you on that point though.
Reply to this commentOh, but could their voices be any more annoying? It sounds like they’re talking through their noses.
Reply to this commentI know, so freaking high, I think I heard a ‘congratulations’ from the whole thing. I don’t speak mandarin but it sounded and looked like chaos.
Reply to this commentI am from Taiwan and I can not understand every single word. It is not necessary to understand them, just look at them
Reply to this commentThey were kinda high pitch, weren’t they. I’m sure they sounded better live.
Reply to this commentSounds like they were in the local fruit market on a Saturday afternoon.
Why do they speak Mandarin if it’s an international conference?
Reply to this commentBooth Babes! Coming to a Tech Exhbition/Conference near you
Reply to this commentHaha it’s so funny! They are really using all the babes to attract the crowd… Funniest part is they are all side by side with one another trying to compete for the mass crowd..
Hey Mr John Chow, I think your blog really rocks like you! Here’s my first post..
Reply to this commentdoes it inviolate the Google Adsense Agreement to put many kinds of Ad networks in one site or one page???
Reply to this commentThanks!
We are trying this too.
No it doesn’t.
Reply to this commentmore booth babes!
Reply to this commentThat girl in the silver dress is probably a local celebrity. Top notch booth babe right there.
Reply to this commentWhatever it takes to get attention. This is certainly one of those ways to get it done. . . . .
Reply to this commentBack in the day when I paid $20-40k for a 10×10 booth space, I met a true tradeshow veteran in the booth next to me. In his 50s-60s with coifed silver hair and exquisitely tailored suits, he exuded money. While the booths around me had babes and contests for prizes (always won by the booth staff, btw) he had nothing. His booth had no people - just product displays and a place to leave business cards. While he wandered the show and charmed everyone else’s babes and ate/drank at the press buffet, *qualified* interested leads quietly stopped at his booth, read his literature, and left their cards. After the show while most booths collected many thousands of low-quality leads (mostly interested in free prizes), he walked away with a few hundred very profitable leads for only a fraction of the cost. And he enjoyed the show a lot more.
Reply to this commentoh wow! he’s really smart! Innovative with low cost…
Reply to this commentlmao wtf. doesn’t seem like a tech show at all.
Reply to this commenthaha no kidding Johns having way too much fun to be at a tech show
. The video is prety funny i guesss…
Reply to this commentAnd people carrying large signs. Wonder what you can get paid to walk around with a great big sign at a tech convention?
Reply to this commentThat’s kinda Pathetic that in a technology convention, the one who makes more sales is the one who has the hottest babes, and definitely not the best technology.
Reply to this commentThe girls seem to be working well for the booth owners. They get the attention of passersby (who are mostly male, by the way) and lure them to the booth where all the other good techy stuff are — not bad for on-site marketing.
Reply to this commentthous babes are hot…
Reply to this commentAww I was expecting them to have some sort of dance battle.
I have never heard of such things as booth babes until this convention.
Reply to this commentHi!
In korea, they are lot of girls who promote products, its a normal thing there. My friend did that for LG in Busan, she actually liked it.
It paid for her college.
bye!
Reply to this commentIn Australia, the girls hate it. You try to take a picture of the booth girls and the security guards will be all over you.
Reply to this commentyes, i can see why some people won’t like it. But in korea, i didnt see that problem. I am sorry that in Australia they are that zealous. The booth girls are there for the public, why would a picture hurt them.
bye
Kelly
