Wow, thanks for letting us know of this contest.
Too bad I don’t have so much traffic as you do, so meeting the requirements for the bonus would be a little difficult for me :)
But interesting network anyway.

You should still try.

Awesome contest… don’t know if im able to pull 10 grand off in 3 months, maybe if johnchow readers come and subscribe to my blog I can ;) !!!

d3so April 21, 2010 at 12:30 am

Another contest?! There’s a bunch going on.
Too bad I don’t have a mailing list :(
I would like to start one but can’t afford to pay for one like aweber since my blog isn’t that big yet.
Does anyone know of any free mailing list systems out there?

Bruneian Dollar April 21, 2010 at 1:19 am

There’s MailChimp. Try that. Though, you’ll have to pay after you get more than some visitors to your mailing list.

d3so April 21, 2010 at 3:48 pm

Haven’t heard of mailchimp. I’ll be sure to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!

What’s bad about it?

Contest are created to push a campaign. There is no harm done in joining contest.

d3so, I think you can reconsider your ideas about having a mailing list. Like you, my blog isn’t that big yet as well, but I’ve decided to go ahead with purchasing AWeber’s mailing service after thinking about it. Start building your list TODAY. When it’s big already you’d realise you would have missed many potential clients. Also, it’d push to create better content and market more, so consider it seriously. Anyway, even if you build a list using a free/different provider, when you switch over to paid ones, your existing list WILL HAVE TO RE-OPT IN! And then you may lose even more.
So if you’re serious, start now.

d3so April 21, 2010 at 3:42 pm

I understand what you’re trying to say but it’s doubt that’s holding me back. I could build a list but I have no idea how long it’ll take before I’m able to profit off it. I suppose that’s the risk and yes I will take it into consideration.

I’ve always thought these list services would have a feature to export list databases and transfer them to different one but I guess not?

Irish Garden Home April 22, 2010 at 12:59 pm

Yes, you can transfer a list, but most list providers / managers, will require that your subscriber opt-in a fresh. John posted some time ago a story how he lost a large percentage of his first list due to this as he transferred it from self-hosted to aweber, SY

Hey,
Thanks for your feedback about the contest. We hear your concerns but hope that you will consider joining the Direct Agents Performance Network anyway. We frequently run all different types of contests and have several exclusive offers that we would love for you to participate in. And don’t forget, you can still earn $$ if you refer an email affiliate when you are part of the DAPN :)

Charles April 21, 2010 at 1:52 pm

Wow that is a very interesting contest but generate a minimum of $10,000 in email revenue. That is quite a lot I would have put a lot of campaigns off to actually run this kind of campaign. I will think about it and figure something out.

You earn them $10000 and they give you $1000, cool.

Net Age | Web Design April 25, 2010 at 4:29 am

You sound quite unconvinced. Do you really mean that? LOL!! You have to work hard for the money, so hard for it honey!! Always remember that ;-)
