Dot Com Dim Sum

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, we decided to take a break from the normal Dot Com Pho and do a Dot Com Dim Sum. We went to the Sea Harbour Restaurant on Number 3 Road in Richmond because it was one of the few dim sum restaurants in the city that accepted reservations. Sea Harbour, like most dim sum restaurants, is extremely busy on a Saturday afternoon. There was a long line up and most of the crew couldn’t find a space in the parking lot and had to park across the street at the Yaohan Centre.

We limited attendance to ten people because that’s the maximum a big dim sum table can hold. You can do more than ten but it’s a pretty tight squeeze. Dot Com Dim Sum was attended by myself and Sarah, Stephen Fung, Buzz Bishop, Ed Lau, Gary Ng, Greg Morgan, Moneca, Alex and Wolfgang. Dot Com Pho returns next week. Follow me on Twitter to find the time and location.

For the Gung Hay Fat Choy Edition of Dot Com Dim Sum, we have the Fitness World Co-Ed changing room, eating chicken feet, Black Berry fail, iPhone sword fight, the gadget of the week, the iPhone apps of the week, the Market Leverage Twitter shout out and a whole lot more. Enjoy!

Wow I'm getting hungry just looking at the food. They say eating is a passion. But I say eating with lots of great buddies is just fantastic.

Peter Lee

I can name many of friends there.,learned by heart.Really cool company.

I just love the title of this post...and dim sum..mmm mmm mm!

That definitely is an excellent advert picture for Apple Iphones. Looks like you had a great time and again the place looks superb.

Hmmm, I had no clue there's a Sea Harbour in Canada. I've been to the one in Shen Zhen, China and the service there is something you will NEVER forgot because China has all the staff they need :D.

Anyways, I live about a few miles away from the Sea Harbour in Los Angeles county, but it's one of the most expensive Dim Sum places around unless you go to the ones that are "half American", which isn't really authentic at all.

i must have the iphone sword fight app.

i search nothing comes up.

but nice meal you guys are having.

i do love the chicken feet in black bean sauce.

John, is the Chinese New Year something special for you? Are there any interesting traditions in your family? What your hopes do you expect the year of the Ox to justify.?I try to study Tao and Feng Shui.

This looks like a lot of fun. I don't know if I would try chicken feet but they looked good.

I phone fight huh? hahah I have the G1...lol what now....

I really need to find a good Chinese restaurant in Charlotte... Those fast food ones do it for me... but hope you had a great time.

Wew I like that Iphone fight :D

I have to get me an iphone asap! I think it would have been funny to see you guys have a slap war out in the parking lot (or at grocery store)! I would have died laughing!

I also forgot to ad Xin Nian Kuai le or Gong xi fa cai for all oour Chinese Brothers and Sisters and every one celebrating Chinese New Year. I just went with Hubby to be to a nice local Hui Hui Chinese restaurant as they do some nice Xin Jiang food and other Chinese dishes. In London they do great celebrations which I missed this year, never mind.

Lol, you always take a photo of the 'BOYS'. I am already taken hehe but enjoyed looking at all the eligible Bachelors showing off their eating prowess!!!

make150aday: haha..of course Mr. Chow speak chinese. He's chinese ma. :)

cool.
Happy Chinese New year..
Do anyone of you speak Chinese?

Hi John, I thought you only speak English. But, we are proud to be Chinese, right? :) Gong Xi Fat Choy!

John are you from Hong Kong?

Happy Chinese New Year John. Sorry for the delay.

Gong Hei Fatt Choi to u, Mr. Chow! Due to today is "Human Day" for chinese, i wish u Hapi birthday too!

Ren Day? Its the birthday of all humans!

That blackberry got complete ganked by iphones!

That's pretty cool that you have guys have meet-ups like that. Hopefully, I can be part of it because I love me some chicken feet.

Stephen = Fail. You're not supposed to eat the bun after it has cooled. You eat it hot. Just use chopsticks so that it dribbles all over the chopsticks and not your hands.

Greg's facial expression during the iPhone sword fight is priceless.

That's what I told him when was mentioning the "waiting till it cools" part. Eating it cold is no good!

The iFight was pretty fun. Buzz put up quite the fight outside. I think he should be a stuntman instead of a radio guy!

Stephen: iPhone FTW!

I think that I've gained at least 10 lbs. just from eating after I should have stopped from seeing all these food related posts...you'll get my dexatrim bill (nah, I'll just put in some extra miles at the gym).

Too bad for you. John's passion for food won't cease :p

I see a parking space at the beginning of your video. Its empty...

The one empty space you saw was for handicap. It took about 30 seconds before a non-handicap car parked there.

Wait.. whats so important about this?

Did anyone did something to take that car out of the spot? Like someone of the restaurant.

dim sum is the bomb-diggity i think im going to make my wife go eat sum tomorrow now. but the place we go in chinatown they have the people going around with carts of whatever to choose from.

the ifight part is funny, i think im going to download that right now while it's still free!
great video

Ha ha @ Barack Obama Blackberry!
And i have used the iFight app earlier too.. it's a cool one :)

thanks for the shout out...URL was spelled wrong tho haha...its all good. Is the Blackberry really that limited in popularity these days? I have a Bold myself and was shocked that you all have iPhones.

Assie Host... Oh dear... I don't think he/she will be happy with that

No, you're not first and if you, or anyone, tries a comment like that in the future, they will be banned.

That's a good warning John :) No one should be here commenting first or second. It is actually what you are commenting about.

Thank you. It's pretty annoying when people do that.

Finally speaking up for this john! There have been many of them already..

Good warning John. Nothing is more annoying than seeing one-word comment with name full of keywords.

That is a good example of spam comment. I use to had some of those in my site, but I just delete them all.

Yea I'm pretty sure that only flies on forums, not blogs

Kirin (City Centre) takes reservations, I think. Looks like a good time, though Stephen didn't quite figure out the iPhone theme of that pic, eh?

Kirin does take reservations and they were our first choice. However, they couldn't get us a table until 2:30! So Sea Harbour it was!

I think Kirin (City Centre, not Richmond) has better dim sum than Sea Harbour. Better parking too. :)

That looks like fine restaurant. The food should be great too. Where were you John? You are not in the Pics.
