For the past few weeks, we’ve been holding Dot Com Pho at some very non Pho restaurants. While it was nice to try new things, we’ve decided to go back to basics and return Dot Com Pho to its roots by holding it at Pho 101. This is a new Pho restaurant and it shows. The room is one of the cleanest Pho places we’ve ever been in. Everything is shiny and new.
Pho 101’s soon to be claim to fame is they served raw beef. That’s right, raw beef as in not cooked in anyway. Mind you, it’s cut so thin that you can cook it by placing it in the Pho. Or you can eat it raw like Ed Lau did. Pho 101 also has very tasty deep fried chicken wings. They’re not at the same level as Phnom Penh but then again, nobody is.
Besides Ed, the only other attendees were myself and Stephen Fung. This is because is Pho 101 is located in the wasteland known as Burnaby. It’s a pretty far drive for all the regular Pho goers. Despite the distance, I think we will be holding another Dot Com Pho there. The cleanliness of the restaurant and the quality of the Pho warrants the extra long drive.
