Dot Com Pho – A Planet Call Richmond Edition

written by John Chow on January 24, 2009

Profit from binary options

There’s nothing quite like a hot bowl of Pho on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Myself, Sarah, Ed Lau, Wolfgang, Sally and her grandparents all got together at Pho Lan in a planet call Richmond to do the weekly Pho fest.

Richmond is a very unusual place on the face of this planet. For one thing, it doesn’t seem to know that the world is in a recession. How else can you explain the 200 people line up to buy condos a few days ago? But that’s not the only thing strange about Richmond. Watch this episode to find out more.

For this special Richmond edition of Dot Com Pho, we have Pho menu #12, the owner of Pho Lan, Sally showing off her shooting skills, the iPhone app of the week, Obama’s low tech Whitehouse, a 65 person Market Leverage Twitter shout out and lining up is for losers.

In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Dot Com Pho will become Dot Com Dim Sum next week. We invite all local bloggers to attend. To find the time and location, follow me on Twitter.

I think Sally has the making of a great blogger... one day.Nice video.

Peter Lee

Sally is one of the most precious children ever.

I wish that I got to eat more real Chinese food and not just the deep fried stuff. I love Asian cuisine; but there just isn't that much of it here in Saint Louis.

Great video. I am right up the road, guess I will have to try the Pho. Great video!

nice places.... must try and test.....

John,

Thanks for the shout out for THE REAL ESTATE SCHMOOZER! http://www.TheSchmoozer.net

Your film making is pure genius. If your ad revenue is ever affected by the down economy, you'll always know Hollywood could be your back up.

Richmond will be known for its Dot Com Pho parties one day. I wish i could be a part of it. boooooohuuuuuuu

thanks for the links john....I am very enjoy

coolest gumball machine evar! oh and the rest of the food looked great too...haven't had decent Pho in ages

Lunch looks great like usual !

Sally is the cutiest little girl! I think she totally stole the show! :-)

I think so too, Beth, :)

Why does it say video no longer available? Next time i think its wise to use youtube, since vimeo acts up quite alot of time.

Where is the Video john? Its gone :'(

How has no one bothered to correct the title of this?

A planet callED Richmond, John. Called.

I know that but used Call because using Called would have required the reduction in font size. Style comes first! Remember, it's better to look good than to feel good. Because when you look good, you feel good! :P

But then you look like an ESL student. Haha.

You have a good explanation here. :-)

Thanks for the shout-out John, love the noodles!

I din't get a shoutout even though I tweeted John 4 hours before he asked people for the Shout out :( Arghh... Anyways, will try next week.. :)

Good video! :D

lol @ 3:54. Ed sure likes to talk :P It's okay, I do too :)

I beg your pardon! Everything is Ok now. Sally is a real film star.

Where is the video today? It doesn't go.

I think you should open your own Pho place...you've been to enough to know what's good and what's bad. It could be a hit!

Just open it, hire the right people, and let someone else run it :)

Thanks for the shout out John! I think you need to buy a Windows Mobile phone and recommend help find some good Twitter apps. I can't find a good one for my HTC Touch HD.

I used to use TwitterFon, and it is good, but Tweetie is a zillion times better. Try it, you'll like it. Be sure to change the preferences (in regular settings menu) to standard instead of bubbles and you can fit way more on the screen. I have a review of this http://www.asktheboater.com/they-made-the-best-app...

$2.99!? Dot Com Moguls don't waste their money when they can get the same thing free.

I think Sally should start her own John Chow spinoff blog. You never know...she could get quite a following!

she has her own blog I think...I remember John posting her URL once in a video of his...i think it was sallychow.com ...edit..it is her blog...damn my memory amazes me...yet I still cant find my keys so I can head out for the night lol....

omg and it was in the first second of the vid which I totally missed. yess..my mind isnt that sharp lol

www.sallychow.com - It's not surprising that her blog is better than mine.

She will be arival to all of us I think, if she follows her father steps. Hope not so evil, lol.

Hmm... I love that kind of noodle. Nice vid as always.

I predict great things for Sally's future :D

awesome vid! thanks for the shoutout!!

OMG - Sally was so cute with the gumball machine!

Thanks for the shoutout :)

It sounds interesting...

Way to trust sally with the iphone John. I would have thrown the phone in some pho.

Obama is a Mac user by the way. I saw a pic of him while he was campaigning a few months ago walking on to his plane with a MacBook. :)

MabBooks... You've gotta love the man.

MAC books you mean lol

So another high profile person who use mac book. I think Mac user have their own brand and own style.

I need to put my hands in one Mac, it seems everybody that have some degree of success likes to use one.

If Obama uses it, we all should too? :) Maybe.
