Dot Com Pho – Eliminator Challenge Edition

After a week in Vancouver, I’m back in sunny California for this week’s Dot Com Pho Orange County. We once again met at Pho Bac in Irvine to eat Pho in the outdoor patio (don’t try that in Vancouver in December unless you want to freeze body parts) and chat about the week’s Internet happenings. Anyone is welcome to join us at Dot Com Pho. Follow me on Twitter to find the time and location and the next one.

For this edition of Dot Com Pho, we have the Pho Bac menu, Social Media Mastermind Orange County (#SMMOC) meetup, Pho on a boat, The Food Cop, and some other stuff.

After Pho, I headed over to the City of Industry to watch Dave do the Eliminator Challenge at the Speed Zone. The Eliminator Burger is made with 100% pure beef patties, with cheese, stacked six-high. Speed Zone refused to tell me how many calories the burger had, but I imagine it’s in the thousands.

If you eat it all, they give you a free ride pass (good for three races) on the Top Eliminator Dragster. The burger cost $19.99. Three races on the Top Eliminator cost $15. If you win the challenge, you basically get a huge burger and three drag races for only $4.99! It’s a great deal….If you can win.

Is there a time limit on the Eliminator Challenge?

    1. John Chow says:

No there wasn’t. Or if they was, they never said anything.

      1. Michael Kwan says:

@John Chow That makes it a fair bit easier then. I’m not sure I would want to do it (or if I could do it), but that does make it easier. Time for Stephen to step up.

    Hey John,

You’re really rubbing it in with the weather. Being on a patio does beat being inside in December. How about the freshness of air though?

The food looks pretty good. I wonder if you get free extra noodles with the large order like in Vancouver.

    1. John Chow says:

@Vance Sova I’ve never asked about free noodle. I should try it next time. The air is very fresh. OC is much better than LA!

  3. Vance Sova says:

    John,

How do the comment points work? A few days ago I had at least 5 points and now I have zero. You have 15 points. I’m confused. Do the points expire or what?

    1. John Chow says:

@Vance Sova I am not sure how the point system works. You’ll have to check with livefyre for the answer.

      1. Vance Sova says:

@John Chowlivefyre It’s your blog John,

I thought you’d know. Are the points the different kind of reward you meant when it was noticed you don’t have the top commentators anymore?
