Dot Com Pho – First Pho of 2009 Edition
Dot Com Pho returns to Pho Vancouver (AKA Happy Pho) on Main and King Edwards for the first Pho of 2009. We had a full house of 15 people braving the snow to meet up at the happiest Pho restaurant in the world. It was great to see so many make it out to the weekly Pho fest. Anyone is welcome to join us for Dot Com Pho. Follow me on Twitter to find out the time and location of the next one.
For the first Dot Com Pho of 2009, we have another Dot Com Pho commercial, Pho menu #L3, the gadget of the week, iPhone app of the week, trying to learn mandarin, the night before CES party, the biggest Twitter shout out to date (43 shouts!) plus a whole lot more.
This week’s Dot Com Pho was sponsored by Market Leverage, filmed with a Flip Mino digital camcorder and edited with iMovie 08 on the MacBook Pro. See you next week!

the coveted first spot – Mystery Domain Auction – http://xr.com/xql
Someone needs to send me a Flip Mino HD camera already! lol
why would someone send you flip mino ?
Gr8 video john, interesting and funny
lol there are way better cameras than a flip mino hd
Send Amazon.com $209 and they’ll send you a Flip Mino HD back in the mail…make sure you use my shiny affiliate link cuz that’s what all the cool kids are doing these days
“cuz that’s what all the cool kids are doing these days” That’s a cool line.
…and you’re a cool kid for realizing that, thanks!
Are you holding the auction?
That has to be the lamest comment in the history of John Chow dot com.
That’s just another IP for John to add to his spam block list.
Pho rocks
These vids always make me hungry for pho…
lol nice video as always
Actually the tallest mountain in the world is under the ocean. Unless you’re talking about elevation instead of height.
It only took me a couple of months, but I finally made it into the twitter shout-outs. I’m usually too busy making money or something.
I’m gonna try the twitter shouts next dot com pho.. Hope I’m here !
but congrats to u
I like the mountain landscape in the video.Never have been to the high points in winter. So severe!
Lol always look forward to your dot com pho videos. Although I can’t be there, at least I know whats going on..
Yup me too.. I love these videos.. I hope they do it in different countries..
But Its not possible.. darn!
Anyways, we could make our own Dot Com Pho
Yeah I also like to be there, shame it is not possible now, but I will be there someday.
I saw you in there this time Arfan
Wait a minute…. in the Twitter shoutouts, there’s a “Love Sexy Ed Lau” from EdLau.com? What the hell is that?
Yep. It seems someone loves Ed Lau!
Hahaha..!!
Eeewww.. doesn;t sound right to me..
But that’s the Ed Lau Ironworks site that has been nagging our Ed for so long!
I wonder how much of a traffic boost that gave ed lol
I never climbed much of a mountain, but I did take the South Kaibab trail from the rim of the Grand Canyon down to the Colorado River at the bottom and back up in one day…that was the hardest physical thing I’ve ever done, but well worth it for the pictures and experience…I think it was around 14 miles…took 4 hours to get down and about 7 back up.
Haha, nice video. Is that Pho any good?!?
It has to be right..?
If it’s not, we wouldn’t be eating it every week!
Thanks for the Shout out =)
Let us know how the shout affects your traffic!!
Cheers to the first 2009 dot com pho – and damn i’m not the top commentator anymore lol
The iBlow, lol nice vid blog.
Wanna montaineering. THe video makes someone climbing the peaks. It is catching.
Blow your Iphone
:D
Good video.
I missed the shout out
Pretty intense climbing a mountain to display the market leverage banner!!! :O
Shows where the intensity of a blogger mindset is headed and the integrity that one carries along the path… to places where no man has gone before !!!
Arr… finally made it to the twitter shout-out, but now you decided NOT to read them out loud anymore — too bad, as I would’ve *loved* to hear you try my Dutch name and domain. =] Oh, and at some point one of the Pho people is in view, saying something. Was he encouraging you folks, or telling you to stop using his place as a movie set? =]
Nice vid as usual, keep the great stuff coming in 2009!
I could use a good Phở chay recipe
The ways of a BLOGGER are inscrutable.
Hot-dang! That Pho joint looks a great place to grub. The kid’s beef vermicelli – I’d eat in 10 seconds flat.
video is superb, me too need a camera.
Flip Mino digital camcorder is so cool and is mini, so its pocketable.
Cool, this is the time for Market Leverage.
i love how you guys are such apple whores now . . . btw . .when does the snow melt, so I can go up there?
I like the mountain landscape in the video.
The iBlow was funny and, yes, useless. Seemed Mr. Happy Pho wanted some screen time. He kept creeping in during taping.
I like the mountain in the video. What it’s name?
That’s actually our (MarketLeverage’s) CEO, Michael Jenkins. He recently climb Mount Aconcagua, which is the tallest mountain outside of Asia! He brought a mini replica of our trade show booth along to hold up at the peak of the mountain. Pretty cool, huh?
I agree with the opinion expressed above and rather add that a wide demand is a ground for any market including online.
John , when is your next trip to Toronto ?
I don’t know. I don’t have plan to visit this year. But you never know.
oh let me know when u have any plans …
There are way better cameras than a flip mino, by the way, nice and interesting video.
