We had a full house of ten people showed up for the Free Xbox Edition of Dot Com Pho. Then old time members Gary Ng and Greg Morgan showed up to bring the total to a table squeezing dozen. The start time was changed from 12:30 to noon because I had to head up to Whistler for dinner at Araxi right after.
For this edition of Dot Com Pho, we have not one but two videos! The first is the Dot Com Pho video. The second video was produced using the gadget of the week. Highlights include how Michael Kwan got a free Xbox, Stephen Fung playing with the Gadget of the week, the Make Money Online book iPad winner, Shakespeare plays as a tweets, the opposite of hate, the trifle couple and a bunch of other stuff. I’m commenting mostly on the contents of the video.
It’s good you finally resolved the opposites question.
Does everyone agree that the opposite of both love and hate is indifference?
I tend not to agree that love and hate are the two sides of the same coin. It is deceptively kind of like that but not quite I think. Love is more than just an emotion.
Unfortunately the word is so overused that the meaning of love is kind of blurred.
Congrats to the winner of the first iPad.
Now I’m hoping to win the second one.

I think that love is more of a decision than an emotion, the emotion element is a by-product of decisions made in love.
Also, the opposite of love AND hate can be indifference, but the opposite of love is hate. It depends on how one frames the question or statement.

Haha of course lah Ed, opposite of dog ain’t a cat. But for emotions, it’s easier to find an opposing word such as like-dislike, prefer to-prefers not to etc as in the realm of feelings and cognition, there are always options and decisions that one can make.

Maybe so but does the dog love the cat? Or does the cat hate the dog?
I agree partly because dog has no opposite but if hypothetically one had to choose an animal with opposite character then cat would be a good candidate because dogs are fiercely dependent on their masters while cats are fiercely aloof once their basic needs like food are met.

Is Michael going to be giving away the xbox? I need a new one because my xbox was cursed with the RRoD. I did the nylon washer fix but it only worked for about 3 months until the red lights returned. Frustrated, I did the towel trick; it worked once but once again red lights. The second time I did the towel trick the xbox would turn on, this time no lights.
Accepting money or xbox donations are highly appreciated 
The xbox is another gadget I’d love to win one day. Not something I can see myself buying, but if I won one, I’d definitely get some good use out of it!
I wouldn’t want to buy another xbox either. I’ve already spent enough money on it being games, hard drives, and xbox live memberships.
I’d buy a ps3 if I had the money but I wouldn’t mind a free xbox either.

I really liked the quality of that camera. Seems like there were some problems with blurring from movement, but it was definitely creating a high quality image. Can’t say whether it was better than John’s camera tho
I think you have to admit now that his camera’s quality looks a lot better than yours! lol
Those DSLR’s have make such crisp & great looking video. Pretty amazing.

The only difficult thing about the ipad is how to carry it around. Can’t wait til we can shrink objects.
