Dot Com Pho – Full House Edition

This week’s Dot Com Pho started on a down note when Michael Kwan said he couldn’t attend because he’ll be trying to negotiate with Susan’s parents for the right to be a good husband for their daughter. However, things worked out well in the end because we had a completely packed house with 14 people showing up! This made filming the episode harder than normal because so many topics were on the table.

On this episode of Dot Com Pho, we have a bit of everything, including Happy Brian trying to sell my Make Money Online book to the new Pho attendees. We also came up a great idea for a new reality show but promised not to tell anyone about it. Watch the video to get an idea of what happens at a Dot Com Pho meet up. Everyone is welcome to join. Follow me on Twitter for the time and location of the next one.

For those who can’t get enough Dot Com Pho, here’s another video by Vance Sova.

Wow! 14 people showing up, that’s one of the best turnouts in a while. Great stuff! 🙂

    1. Hey John,

It was a lot of fun this time wasn’t it? Even Ed Lau showed up on time and was as vociferous as ever. For those who want to watch much more from the Dot Com Pho and especially ZK and D3so who expressed the desire to watch longer videos from the episodes you can check it here:

It’s over 20 minutes of discussion about Android, Facebook, Apple etc.

      1. PPC Ian says:

Yeah, it’s really cool to see the long 21 minute episode. 🙂 Really great stuff.

        1. Hey John,

I agree with PPC Ian and I think ZK should like this too as he expressed the desire to see longer videos in the past.

Thanks for uploading my video. I had a bit of a trouble not with YouTube but with iMovie which is programmed to tell people off and not to allow them to upload longer videos than 10 minutes to YouTube.

I had to bypass iMovie by saving the video to my desk top and then uploading it to YouTube from there.

I had no idea about the limitations of iMovie until then.

Thanks for the extended version of dot com pho!
I have yet to use imovie on a mac. I use it on my iphone.

    2. after long long time we can see such a good number of attendees.

This one is simply awesome and love to see all people here.

Im coming to the next one!!

    1. Hey Dino,

Do you really mean it, if so which one are you coming to, in Vancouver or in Seattle?

So far the Vancouver Dot Com Pho hasn’t been surpassed yet by the one in Seattle, which is not even coming close.

      1. PPC Ian says:

I’m hoping to go to a Dot Com Pho one of these days in Seattle. I’m going to SMX Advanced Seattle in the summer so that might be a great time to go to Dot Com Pho.

  3. GTA 5 says:

  6. Josh Rimer says:

Darn, too bad I missed this one! I sort of stopped paying attention to Dot Com Pho’s when you moved to Seattle… I wish there was a way to get updated when they’re happening (I’m following enough people on Twitter now that I don’t often see your tweets).

    1. Hey Josh,

John now visits about once a month. Check his tweets about 4 weeks from now.

That’s what I do. The next time I’ll send you a direct message about the Pho with John if you’d like.

    2. Michael Kwan says:

John comes back to Vancouver about once a month, but we still host the Dot Com Pho gathering every Saturday in Vancouver with or without John. Follow @dotcompho on Twitter and “like” DotComPho on Facebook for the newest updates, both for Vancouver and Seattle.

      1. d3so says:

I need to make it to a dot com pho this year.

  7. I wish I could attend one of the infamous Dot Com Pho meetups. Maybe I need to start a similar version in Denver =)

  8. Looking awesome John.

  10. Alex says:

Wished I could attend this meeting once!

  11. jennifer says:

I had booked to be at your lunch, but I had a meeting with a potential client that turned into a sale, which extended my meeting and thus I missed PHO lunch.. I will check out YouTube for your video. YouTube sent me an email recently saying that due to my video numbers and quality they incresed my status and my video length past 15 minutes… YEH HOOOO

    1. Hi Jennifer,

Too bad you didn’t get to the lunch meeting but making a sale must have been good too.

As for the YouTube giving people more than 15 minutes for their video length I don’t know how they decided that in your case but they didn’t give me any reason. They just said “Congratulations”. From what I gather they are likely planning to give this eventually to everybody if the testing they are doing works.

You found a good way to plug your channel though.

    nice article, thanks for share

  13. Have you considered contacting HBO for your own series?……………………..I can’t say for sure but chances are you guys would add to your blogging incomes nicely!

    1. Now that would seriously be funny to see that on HBO. Probably be better then most of the garbage you see on their anyway. Next thing you know there will be DVD releases for season 1, 2, 3 ect.

  14. Great stuff. 14 people showing up, not bad!

  15. These are Excellent Videos John. Contact HBO and Get a Chance Man.
