Dot Com Pho – Switch On Edition

A full house of 10 people showed up for today’s action packed Dot Com Pho, which started at 12:30 and didn’t end until almost 4:00PM. It’s a good thing that Mr. Happy Pho is a really happy guy and likes us a lot. Otherwise, I doubt he would tolerate us staying at his restaurant for over three hours. Most of the attendees were Pho regulars but we did have one new member. Chris Campagnolo recently moved to Vancouver and is now part of our little meetup group. Anyone is welcome to join us for Dot Com Pho. Follow me on Twitter to find the time and place of the next one.

For the Switch On Edition of Dot Com Pho, we have the winners of the Entrepreneur Heroes trading cards, how to get beat up at the World Cup, Ed being late as usual, fake leather iPad covers, the worthless iPad app of the week, a necklace that relieves pain and a drink that can cure almost anything that is ailing you. We also selected the winners of the ten Affiliate Summit gold passes but it didn’t make the video. I’ll post the pass winners tomorrow. Enjoy the episode.

    1. PPC Ian says:

I just noticed that too Shanker! 101K is absolutely amazing. :-)

    2. John passed 100k in the last couple of days. There was a post dedicated to this.

But I see it keeps hovering at around 94-100k.

      1. d3so says:

        Congrats Ian & Dino! I was hoping. That’d I’d get a pack too. :P

  9. Ed Lau says:

I would rather drive around the Nuremburg Ring in a garbage truck…filled with month old camel meat…backwards…on fire…than play that game again. It must’ve been made in a country where people have no concept of how cars work and the only mode of transportation is via ox-cart.

Having 6-player multiplayer is a completely moot point as anyone that would be stupid enough to download and play such a horrible game is not going to have 5 friends.

    1. d3so says:

      didn’t u download the game lol ;)
most free games are garbage unless they’re demos of paid games.

  10. Rofl, that I call bad luck, the guys just before and after me won and Michael’s finger missed me just by millimetres ;-) Congratulations to the winners, have fun! SY

    1. d3so says:

lol yea. I saw my gravatar multiple times as well. I shouldve commented more on that post :P

  11. Sveny says:

Thanks for the trading congratulations to the other four winners!

  12. Hi John,

Didn’t make it this time due to jet-lag but I’ll be there soon if not the next time.

    Congrats to all the winners.

As for the restaurant owner, I think he’s tickled pink to have you as regular customers not to mention the free advertising of his business he gets.

    Vance

    1. d3so says:

A big group = $$$ plus free advertising and I bet u still order stuff throughout the four hours. And u guys probably tip good, right? ;)

    2. Plus they actually eat and drink there, which means income, plus like you say, each of the dot pho participants might come back on other occasions with other friends. Nearly viral marketing ;-) SY

      1. d3so says:

Dot Com Pho is going to big within a few years. Pretty soon they’ll pack the whole restaurant. And Saturday will be reserved for dot com pho. Just watch :)

        1. Haha i’m sure that will be the case in few years :D

  13. mondex1 says:

Congrats to all winners. I wonder if that Ipad jacket will come with Ipad itself as well.. Just kidding. I wish I am from Vancouver too so I can win some prizes as well. :)

  14. d3so says:

I just noticed, since this is the switch on edition not much was discussed on the topic, I wanted to know more because I’m a skeptic when it comes to healing pendants & wands.

    1. Yes, a very little “switch on”

    2. So am I, in my opinion they can be outright dangerous when people use them instead of looking for medical help, delaying important treatment. I am a nurse by background / training and I have seen real “worst case scenarios” because of people believing more in such healing thingies than in standard medicine, burst appendix anybody? SY

      1. d3so says:

Yes, but these are alternative therapies. I don’t think the people who use them have serious disorders but minor ones such as back pain or fatigue.

        1. Believe me, they do, have seen enough cases like this when I worked in the hospital. Kind of denial of the seriousness of a situation plays also into this. SY

  15. Addy Kho says:

cant wait to know who is the winner:)

    1. Yeah i’m also impatient about that! :D

  16. These lunch meetings look so fun! I wish I lived somewhat closer to Vancouver!

    1. Yeah actually. I know a couple people who live there and personally i’d love to be there…

  17. anxiety says:

i would like to try the ipads too….
    but i prefer my iphone…:-)

anyway nice restaurant there john… for three hours… that was tiring…

  18. drapes says:

  19. Can’t wait to see you at ASE.

  20. Are these events by invitation only?

  21. how can i get access to this invitations cos i am really interested??
