Dot Com Pho - The HD Look Edition
For this week’s edition of Dot Com Pho, we brought out the Flip Mino HD to film our first HD Look version. We’re calling it HD Look because the Flip Mino HD is about as HD as Julia Roberts is blonde. Sure, it films at 1280×720, but the compression is so high, the video quality is no better than the standard Mino.
We had a full house of 12 people showing up at Pho Trang Ad restaurant on kingsway, including two who have never attended a Dot Com Pho before. It’s always nice to meet new people. For the HD Look edition of Dot Com Pho, we bring you hot pepper eating dare, the iPhone app of the week, Pho menu #26, Dot Com Pho pens, IZEA T-shirts, the web site maximizer, UGM shout outs and a whole lot more.
Anyone is welcome to join us at Dot Com Pho. To find the location of next week’s Dot Com meet up, follow me on Twitter.

Reply to this commentI like the Flip Mino HD’s quality… I want one of those bad boys. I’m counting on Santa to bring me one. haha

Reply to this commentReally the quality is HD.. keep bringing more such.
Reply to this commentHD is awesome.
Once i’ve saw BlueRay 720p(Only!) I never went back to DVD.
Reply to this commentI’m so glad I didn’t pay for that Mino HD. It freezes, shuts itself off randomly, and the results…HD like…but not HD. I guess the only saving grace is the fact that it now shoots in 16:9 and we know it can handle a Segway attack from Kwanye because the original Mino survived and uses the exact same shell.
Which Pho restaurant should we make or break next week? Pho Trang An was expensive, and the small was REALLY small.
Reply to this commentpepper was to hot to handle

Reply to this commentWould love to get a hold of a video camera that is cheap and does the job, and does it well???
Reply to this commentThe lack of neon lights inside the restaurant threw me off. A pho restaurant needs the neon!
Reply to this commentHaha. That’s a good point. It’s also a little too clean.
Reply to this commentWhy is a Pho restuarant CASH ONLY?
Reply to this commentIt’s an unwritten rule. However, Pho Trang An wrote it down!
Reply to this commentThanks for the mention, John. You can get Cronk on the App Store and check out a video of it in action at CronkGames.com. Also, it’s not a bowling ball but a boulder and he’s trying to save his village. We also have more than one level, with different screens–not just the first one.
Reply to this commentThe thing about spicy food, it burns going in and out!
Reply to this commentHey John that pop up really sucks, we are loyal readers, is there anyway to avoid pop up to loyal readers?
Reply to this commentOK, I turned it off for you. You shouldn’t get it the next time you come here.

Reply to this commentthe video quality seems great. i just ordered a regular mino, just couldn’t bring myself to break down and pay extra for the HD. i hope it’s true that the HD quality isn’t much better, because that means i’m getting an awesome camera.
