Dot Com Pho – Traveling The World Edition

written by John Chow on September 26, 2009

uopm

We’ve traveled the world looking for the best pho and ended up at Pho Thai Hoa. While we’re not sure if this place has the best pho in the world, it is highly rated (taking the bronze in Vancouver magazine’s best Asian restaurant category) and the food is pretty damn tasty.

We were met at Dot Com Pho by Gary Arndt of Everything Everywhere. Gary has been traveling the world for the past two and half years. He’s visited 60 countries and is currently on the Vancouver leg of his trip. You can say Gary is living the Dot Com Travel Lifestyle. Other attendees include Michale “Fatal1ty” Yurechko, Stephen Fung, Ed Lau and Sally Chow.

For this edition of Dot Com Pho, we have a Dot Com Pho first, how to travel the world for a living, the namwhich, the gadget of the week, best travel stories, Sally being cute and a whole lot more. Anyone is welcome to join us for Dot Com Pho. Follow me on Twitter to find out the time and location of the next one.

I like Turkish food, I’m not only talking about kebad :)

Benjamin Cip September 27, 2009 at 2:34 pm

I already visited the site Everything-Everywhere.com and I really like it, he visited so many countries. I’m still wondering how he is monetizing his site while traveling as he is not offering any products except maybe… survival products? Any ideas John?

John Chow September 27, 2009 at 4:06 pm

He isn’t monetizing his site because he doesn’t depend on his site for income.

Gary Arndt September 27, 2009 at 8:50 pm

I had an internet company I sold several years ago. I have been traveling off of my savings.

I have been focusing on building my audience while I have been traveling. I will be taking a break from traveling for a few months to work on monetization and launching a few new products.

Sahil Kotak September 29, 2009 at 12:15 am

His site is fantastic and really good. I can’t believe that he has visited to all countries.

Sahil Kotak September 27, 2009 at 12:07 am

WOW!! I can’t live without it now. Another tasty Post, LOL.

How to Make Money with blog September 27, 2009 at 12:15 am

John I can clearly see improvement in your video shoot, you are shooting things like a pro now – you need to work on sound clarity. Try to see how you can reduce outside noise a bit.

Phos are always “Phantastic” as ever.

Sahil Kotak September 27, 2009 at 1:31 am

Yes, it is nicely shooted by John, I think he still needs some improvement.

EarningStep September 27, 2009 at 5:27 am

Sahil Kotak September 27, 2009 at 12:28 pm

You can tell how tired I was because I called it a “Nikon” when the camera is so clearly a Canon…and I say Canon afterwards too. I didn’t even realize I said Nikon until I saw the video just now.

mama bok September 27, 2009 at 7:53 am

Ed .. you need a shave.. hahhaha!!! i’m gonna join you and John one day .. i promise.. :)

Michael Yurechko September 27, 2009 at 10:04 am

I could tell you were at the ‘hyper’ stage of sleep deprivation. You are extremely tired, but purely fueled on adrenaline.

Paul Lear September 27, 2009 at 4:05 pm

Hi Ed,

Yeah, I was just about to comment about you calling it a Nikon… lol

Have you got your sleeping patern back to normal now?

Paul.

Ed Lau September 28, 2009 at 5:56 am

Depends on what you consider normal.

How to Make Money with blog September 28, 2009 at 9:07 am

Sahil Kotak September 29, 2009 at 12:18 am

Never heard of that restaurant name before. If you are coming to Seattle, WA; I would recommend you guys going to Pho Tai in Burien, WA (Seattle area). There are several Pho Tai, but only that one is pretty good.

nathan September 27, 2009 at 5:47 pm

Travelling the world for a living the job for me!

But however I am sure he have enough stories to tell his grand children.

Thank you John and Gary for your replies. It’s great you have been travelling off of your savings. Will you sell a survival ebook from what you’ve learnt from your travel?
