Dot Com Pho – We Got Wood Edition

This edition of Dot Com Pho comes from Pho Thanh Vi in the International District in downtown Seattle. Seattle is a great place to hold a Dot Com Pho because it’s very eco-chic. The location made it perfect to introduce our gadget of the week, the We Wood Watch (also known as the WWW). As the name implies, the watch is made of wood and every time you buy one, American Forests will plant a tree.

Besides being environmentally responsible, this Dot Com Pho featured a 50/50 ratio of guys to girls. That has happened only one other time in Dot Com history! I wonder how long it will take for the girls to outnumber the guys? Anyone is welcome to attend our weekly Pho feast. Follow me on Twitter to find the time and location of the next one. Also, be sure to RSVP for my HasOffers meetup next month!

We Wood Watches

Dot Com Pho Vancouver – Amega Wand Test Fails Edition

Aaron Koo and Vance Sova are both curious and really wanting to find out the truth about whether the Amega wand works independently of a person’s belief in zero point energy and its influence on human energy levels and muscle strength.

  1. Nice Watches John! I’m looking forward to seeing has offers office and free drinks!

    1. PPC Ian says:

Yeah, I agree the watches are cool. I have not seen wood watches before!

      1. The wood watches look good and they may be reasonably light when dry. Getting them wet could increase their weight considerably. Should they fall down or be impacted they might chip. They look cool but may not be practical.

I have yet to see a person wearing them.

      2. d3so says:

I’ve never seen wooden watches either. They look really nice. John should give one away!

    2. Food looks pretty decent, much better than the greasy hunks of pork fat I see most of the time.

      1. It really looks so,why not have a dish for us?

  2. Michael Kwan says:

We had a 1:1 ratio of guys to girls a couple other times recently in Vancouver Dot Com Pho.

    1. Michael … where is the video of Vancouver ?

    2. Oh, that’s nice. So, girls are also equal to boys now. Is it true?

  3. Seeing the picture of that food makes me so hungry.

    1. Akmalnizam says:

      haha..same here…
look tasty and make me craving..

      1. Go and have something to eat then. Some people may find your state of your stomachs announcements amusing but it’s getting to be a stale nothing new kind of comment.

    2. Yea, it actually looks healthy this time.

  4. Ben lang says:

Who are the winners of the Blog Expo passes?

    1. I think, still it is not revealed about the blog expo passes. May be you have to wait.

    2. John Chow says:

Winners will be revealed in tomorrow’s blog post.

      1. Free Picks says:

        cool, we are waiting 😀

  5. good looking watches and food (as always).

    1. Yes specially that Mango dish.

That was really looking great ..

      1. PPC Ian says:

Yeah, agreed. The mango dish is probably the best looking one, although the beef skewers are a close 2nd!

  6. Hoan Huynh says:

You make me feel very hungry so I have to go for lunch now 🙂

    1. If you want to see dot com pho video … than you must have your heavy lunch and dinner.

      1. What? Another comment that doesn’t make much sense?

        1. That’s right, it doesn’t.

ZK writes good comments too so at least it’s not so bad when he produces a comment like this.

Not all pho videos are about food and when the food is shown it is shown very briefly. Nobody who reads this blog is starving I think. Plus looking at video with food or photos of it doesn’t make a person hungry.

People who say it does can’t really be serious. If they already are hungry then seeing food just reminds them of it.

Smelling food has a much bigger effect than seeing it but even that can’t make one hungry. Hunger is different than wanting to eat something because it looks or smells good.

All the repetitive comments on this blog about the pictures of food making people hungry that appear every time food is shown are useless.

  7. John, again you made me hungry. These are Really good looking watches and the food is delicious and feeling hungry 🙂

  8. Today’s video was really short.

John you should add video of at least 7 – 9 minutes at least.

    You added only 4.26 🙁

    1. PPC Ian says:

That’s true, it was a short episode. Those We Wood watches are pretty cool. It’s interesting to see their domain name as a dot us – I don’t run into those as often when someone’s trying to sell a product and establish a real brand.

    2. Short episodes are better. Long videos of people sitting around a restaurant get a bit boring.

  9. PPC Ian says:

Looking forward to watching your TweetUp at the Has Offers office. I have been hearing a lot about Has Offers – they are doing a great job getting their name out there!

  10. Watch looks nice its like fast track would like to buy one for my regular wearing

  11. Mike says:

Nice meal? With tax time here, I hope that you are writing off all of these meals! BTW, when is your tax series blog posts coming?

    1. John Chow says:

I did those years ago. The rules haven’t changed so there’s no need to update them.

    2. Of course, you write off every single meal as a blogger. Just mention any part of your business during the meal and write it off.

  12. fas says:

I AM SURE one day it will be John and 10 girls in a pho meet up :p

  13. Techabouts says:

Watches are really really cool John

  14. tricky says:

I had a wooden watch once.
I wound it up but it wooden work…..

  15. I’ll take the beef skewers and then the watches.

  16. hi everyone, wow…alex and i rode our bikes to pho to get the amega wand from vance. he had had it for four weeks and still had not really felt any effect from the wand. i was not supposed to be at pho because we had planned to be at tofino. my van went to heaven on the way and we double back in time for alex to head to mandarin and me i could collect the wand from vance, so that he did not have to drive in from white rock on monday.
it was a surprise to see that vance had planned to film the demo…at least he is having fun with his experience.
i will let vance spend a week without the amega wand and see if his body kinetically wants to have another go with the wand. so much fun to think that he is figuring this out for the dot pho club.
next he will test the diamond tipped amega wand and it is 30% more effect due to the inclusion of the diamond dust. vance is a trooper.

  17. Chris Jacobson says:

Can you post the URLs and Twitter IDs of the people in the first Dot Com Pho video?

    1. You have to ask john personally for the url’s, because i think john will not reveal here.

    2. Free Picks says:

thats a good idea, we will follow them for future updates 😀

  18. Free Picks says:

awwwwwwww… the best part is the food, specially the first dish 😀
