Dot Com Pho – We’re Number 1 Edition

To celebrate our recent number 1 on Amazon.com for Make Money Online: Roadmap of a Dot Com Mogul, we headed to Happy Pho (we always seems to head to Happy Pho) for a fun filled Dot Com Pho get together. A total of seven people made the meet up and for the first time, I was the last one to show up.

This was one of the longest Dot Com Pho in history. It went from 12:30 and didn’t end until nearly 4PM. Good thing Happy Pho likes our company! We discussed an entire range of subjects with only a small faction making it onto the video. If you want to get a true sense of what Dot Com Pho is like, you need to experience it live. Anyone is welcome to join us. Follow me on Twitter to find the time and location of the next Pho.

For the We’re Number 1 Edtion of Dot Com Pho, we have how to steal cars, Mr. Happy Pho tries to sell my book, deep fried chicken wings, the gadget of the week and the story of Stephen Fung and the sweaty white guy. Enjoy!

  1. That sounds like lotsa fun. It must be very resourceful too where John is. Will show one one day!

Looks like fun. The chicken wings look good.

      1. Yes whole concentration was on wings and on Michael.

I am sure Michael will get boost in his business.

        1. Even if you are at his position than you will also get such boost.

You also live in Canada, why don’t you also join this.

  2. That sounds like lotsa fun. It must be very resourceful too where John is. Will show up one day!

A three and a half hour lunch is just crazeeee! You guys are having far too much fun to be doing legal work! The dotcom lifestyle presents fantastic opportunities to do what you like, exactly when you like to. It works for me.

    1. I don’t think I’ve ever had a lunch half that long :). Yes, all of us that are able to do this full time should count our blessings, we have an amazing opportunity to do this for a living.

Of course Michael failed to mention that he has a signed copy of the book on the line in the Flyers/Habs series. If he loses, which it looks pretty likely, I get the signed copy of Make Money Online to use as a giveaway on my blog.

    1. Lakhyajyoti says:

      That’s look great.

    2. Michael Kwan says:

      The Habs are still alive!

      1. Michael Kwan says:

Okay, no they’re not. Book was shipped out today. Enjoy your giveaway. Heh.

  6. Would definetly have attended a Dot Com Pho if I were in Canada 😛

    1. That’s what I’m thinking :). I might have to visit some time. I’ve always wanted to go on a vacation to British Columbia.

Hahaha funny episode! Here’s quotes I enjoyed, “Mr. Happy Pho is the reason why we’re number one”, “Free drinks for women & free condoms for men = ^_^”.
The sweaty white mention was also hilarious haha.
Awesome dot com pho you guys had.

    1. Yes that fellow got great sense of humour.

  8. fas says:

Half the video was on the Zi8?

    1. John Chow says:

No, the entire video was shot with the Canon HF S100

  9. Ed Lau says:

What the…Michael, you were there in ’08. Stephen got wicked drunk one night and started rambling about Sonya from Mortal Kombat and dogs or something. Although that isn’t quite as bad as John slapping a scooter driver in the head.

That picture of Stephen is actually the first picture I ever saw of Stephen. I believe John showed me when we first met at his old office in Richmond. Still legendary.

    1. Michael Kwan says:

That’s true, but it wasn’t at the ex-pat bar that Stephen got wasted that year.

  10. Mike Saf says:

    Goofy blog post.

  11. Very funny episode.

  12. Hi John,

I was expecting some serious business talk but it was interesting anyway.

The camera and the atmosphere in the place with all having fun.

    Vance

    1. serious business talk??? During dot com pho??? Not likely… LOL

      1. That was not a business meet. Dot pho is all about delicious food, leg pulling and gadgets.

  13. PPC Ian says:

3.5 hour lunch, nice. 🙂 A very well deserved celebration!

    1. You guys are going again in old British days.

      1. And here I was thinking a 2 hour lunch was a long time!

  14. Those wings were looking good! Good times with friends, what more could you ask for? Great episode.

  15. A very well deserved #1 celebration! Congrats again…

  16. Looks like another great time John.

  17. Why old fellows are not coming …

    Any specific reason ??

    1. May be they are busy in some other stuff.

But yes I would love to see all of them also.

      John try to pull them.

  18. Interesting fact about this Dot Com Pho is only we saw three people face.

No John Chow’s face and not the face of lady who was laughing loudly …

John you should know that such kind of laugh can generate curiosity.

    Who was she ?

    1. Michael Kwan says:

I’m not sure which laugh it was, but Bonnie Sainsbury (@bsainsbury) and Marilyn Anderson (@mande2) were there.

  19. Joshua says:

We are the champions, my friends…

  20. You forgot to set the affi link up for the neat little kodak camera 😉 SY

  21. When you’re a dot com mogul you can take a 3+ hour lunch..ha. Hope to be there soon myself as well.

  24. Free Picks says:

thanks for the next episode, this time it was fun :p

  25. Lunch done John Chow style! Three hours and a lot of fun. What can I say, except for the fact that I’m really glad you guys are not lawyers or bankers……LOL

  26. Haha, Pho cracks me up. That camera is pretty cool too, I’ve heard image stabilization is better than flip, plus it has 1080 as opposed to Flip’s 720. BTW, Congrats on being #1!

    1. And the sense of humour of that guy was also awesome.

  27. Lunch from 12:30 – 4:00?!? Gotta love the dot com lifestyle! Congrats on the #1 ranking.

  28. Man that looked like fun! Would love to attend one sometime. Sweaty White guy was funny. He was kinda close to him. HA HA. I’ve heard some other good reviews about that Kodak camera and that it’s great for making videos for your online sites.

  29. Part 2 – Bye the way those wings looked really good.
