Dot Com Shanghai – Missing Pho Edition

written by John Chow on May 17th, 2008

Normally, today would be the day I meet up with the other members of the Dot Com crew for the weekly Dot Com Pho get together. However, since I’m in Shanghai and they’re back in Richmond, we’re going to be doing a Dot Com head to head. While the Richmond crew is doing their normal Dot Com Pho, I’ve decided, in the spirit of oneupmanship, to do a Dot Com Shanghai Spring.

Attending Dot Com Shanghai were myself, Sarah, Sally, my mom and a couple we met at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai. For the first edition of Dot Com Shanghai, we have to get rich is glorious, lobster disrespecting, root of all evil, eaten alive and a whole lot more. Let see the Richmond Dot Com Pho crew top this!

    ~Terry

  2. No way could I eat something that’s still moving.

    That was pure evil.

  3. Looking at seafood displayed like that grosses me out already, but having the antennas move is nasty…

I definitely wouldn’t order that meal myself.

  4. Looks fantastic, can’t beat the still moving part for freshness…

  5. Haha this meal looks great. Maybe you start a monthly “Dot Com somewhere in the world”

  6. Bob

     :???:
John.. Hope you’re not reborn as a Lobster.

  7. DCP May 21st Episode is in the YouTube Queue!

  11. John Chow came into the lobster’s house! Disrespected his whole family!

  13. AJ

John, I’m great fan of Chinese food, next to Indian food, but don’t you think eating a lobster while it’s still alive kind of cruel. I know the animal is going through tremendous pain. But i see the evilness

  14. AJ

John, im a great fan of food too, but don’t you think that lobster was in tremendous pain? I can see ur evilness

  15. That lobster dish really is unique. I have never heard of a lobster dish where the lobster is kept alive. That really is the root of all evil. BTW, where did you meet the couple? :P

    -Mike

  16. I still can’t believe people do this kind of crap even after having seen it first hand. Nice work John

  19. Yuck! Talk about being evil… I don’t know which is the lesser of two evils; throwing rocks at innocent panda’s or eating live lobsters!

  20. I don’t know if I would be willing to eat anything that can still fight back when I pick at it. Perhaps next time you should try cooking your food? lol

  21. Man, that looked really good. However, if you like some good old US pork barbecue ribs… Check out my latest post Grilling With the “Master” of the Grill I don’t think you can top these ribs John.

  22. No numbers and nice pictures  It’s the perfect menu
