Normally, Saturday is Dot Com Pho day. However, we like to mix it up once in awhile (if only to have something else to write about) so for today’s edition of the Dot Com get together, we headed off to Tandoori Kona at 11700 Cambie Road in Richmond for our first ever Dot Com Tandoori.

With 16 people attending, this was our biggest Dot Com get together to date. Like the last Dot Com Dim Sum, Dot Com Tandoori was sponsored by our friends at BlueFur web hosting. If you need web hosting, give BlueFur a shout. Use coupon code JohnChowRock for 15% of any services.

Attending this week’s East Indian adventure was (from right to left) yours truly, Matthew and his dad Rainer, Jen from Jentekk Web Solutions, Gary Jone and his wife Lisa from Blue Fur, Ed Lau, Stephen Fung, Michael Kwan, Tejpal from 1234Pens.com, Erin Berringer from Newport Business Media, Greg Morgan and his friend Danny. Cut off from the picture was my mom, Sally and Sarah.

The food at Tandoori Kona was very good. They had some of the best tasting Nan I’ve ever sampled and their butter chicken was tender and creamy. The same goes for the Mango Lassi. The restaurant is very small but the owner did a great job accommodating our large group. If our Dot Com lunch group continues to grow, we’ll be booking out entire restaurants soon!

How Big Is Your Package?

tandoori5.jpg

Our sponsor for Dot Com Tandoori, BlueFur, unveiled their new T-shirt which ask, “How big is your package?” Can you tell who has the biggest package?

While we don’t know who has the biggest package, we all concluded that Micheal Kwan had the smallest. Whatever size package you’re looking for, BlueFur can take care of you. That is, if you’re looking for a web hosting package.

I'm noticing that every time I comment some other dude by the name of Simon goes up in the top commentators and he's doing nothing, maybe I should change my name.

That is so f*****g annoying

That is some food man.........I just love tandoori and Indian food. It is out of the world and so filling. I think everybody must try this food whenever you get a chance.

Guys, that food just looks toooo yummyyyyy to resist. I was reading this just before my lunch time and you can imagine what I must have gone through. I have never tasted that kind of food, but it looks too good to grab a bite right away. I guess I am going out to find a tandoori corner right now.

The food looks so good! I think I need to talk Ken McArthur into doing a jvAlert Live in your neck of the woods so we can get some of that cooking for the meals...

I think Internet Marketing is one of the few businesses that can unite people a whole ocean away because we are doing similar things. We can always learn from our compatriots all over the world.

Thanks for a great place to learn and have fun with a lot of great marketers!

Have an amazing day!

Looks nice but I'm a bit confused, why all the orange juice and no beer. I thought Beer was essential with Indian food?

Well at many places in India beer is not even touched.

Hey that's Indian Name and Indian Food  . "Tandoori Kona". Tandoori is actually Tandoor where the Chapatis are made like Naan (second image.) and Kona means the Corner. And Sardarji Sitting with white turban on head. Great!!!!!!!

Wow looks really good! Indian food happens to be one of my favorites... Yummy!

the curry looks good...love the indian food

John, we're going to be going to a local joint called Pho Grand sometime this week. I might just have to take along a camera lol.

That's fine - just don't do anything nasty to a lobster on film!

Being a indian guy! The tandoori looks awesome
Can i have a bit!!!!!!!

The Tikkas look more than appealing than in Punjab :)

Looks like the biggest package is John's  LOL

Kisses!

JUZT VACATE IT!!!

Blue fur and package don't seem to go well in the same breath.

Okay, now I am going to have to get something to eat. The food looks fantastic! I have just found your site so will be taking a good look around.

Orange juice in a Tiger beer glass!

What a waste!

That's not orange juice, its a mango lassi (kind of like an Asian smoothie).

Never had mango lassi - sounds good though so will have to keep an eye out for it.

It's still not Tiger Beer though!

Did you like the food?
Some corrections:
>Its not nan its naan
>The food in the pix is actually north indian. (really tasty ofcourse)

And the mango lassi is actually called
Aamrus (aam=mango)

The food really really looks amazing!! Gosh, this post is making this pregnant mommy hungry.. Yum-O!!

cute

yummmyy ...i can c tandoori chicken, naan,papar, pokora,curry, yummyyyy

though im a chinese but i love indian food.......

John ure making me FAT lol hehehe

Totally loved the photos, especially the last one! Had a good laugh with "We definitely know who has the smallest package!"

I'm confused by the food articles.

He does these on a fairly regular basis.

Where's the confusion? The post is called Dot Com Tandoori.

It's all in the name.

Yeah there's even a category for it, check out fine dining.

So what is with all of the food articles?
I thought this was a blog about making money.

You thought wrong.

That food does look good. Pity I don't know of any of these places around here. :???:

I know, same here... it seems Canada is the place to be for good food! *=)

Hehehe, foods seem very delicious, Btw John You have to try Turkish foods :) , they are great !!!!

I haven't had a decent Indian meal in ages! When I lived in Britain it was a regular weekly event but over here in Australia the Indian's a bit different.

That looks absolutely yummy though! I'm getting hungry just looking at the pictures!

Indian food is the best, I'm so glad that I have an Indian wife, its a real treat

Wow, that food looks amazing! There was one Nepalese place in Seoul that had some of the best butter chicken I've ever had. I will have to give this place a try! Gdog is currently in Ricemond!! :)

Awesome get together John, you guys look like you had a great time!

There's a nice restaurant near Metrotown.

Fish On Rice, kind of hard to find entrance, but the food is amazingly good.

All you can eat for $12, and I cant stress it enough, the food is good.

Give it a try.

Damn John! More food! You really are living the life aren't you.

Nice food

Looks all good - btw do you live in Canada or Singapore John, from what I've gathered you spend time in both places?

I don't know why the pics of the food remind me so much of Singapore... maybe the awesome Indian food I had there.
