Driving with John Chow – You Are The Problem

Two Driving with John Chow post in one week? That has to be a record. Then again, I am driving the Merc more than normal this week so might as well take advantage of it.

#1 Problem Between You and Success

Have you ever wondered why you’re not as successful as you wish to be? How is it that a few people can achieve amazing results on the Internet while most people can barely pay for web hosting? It’s like there’s something standing in the way between you and success. Well, the truth of the matter is, there is something standing in your way and until you learn to deal with it, you’ll never reach your end goal.

You Are The Problem

When it all comes down to it, you are the only thing that is stopping you from achieving whatever it is your heart desires. Success is a attitude. It is not money, wealth or power. Take away the money of a successful person and he’ll have it all back and more in a few years. Give an unsuccessful person a million dollars (lottery winner) and chances are he’ll lose it all within a few years. The difference is their attitude.

The unsuccessful person blames his misfortune on outside factors – it’s the tax man’s fault, the economy is bad, prices are too high, my wife won’t let me, etc. He’ll blame everything else except the one thing that is truly keeping him down, and that one thing is staring at him in the mirror. The successful person doesn’t blame outside factors for failing. He accept failure as a requirement for success and learns from it.

They say successful people think differently than unsuccessful people. That’s not entirely true. They don’t think differently, they think opposite. An unsuccessful person hates failure. A successful person welcomes failure. An unsuccessful person works hard for money. A successful person has money work hard for him. An unsuccessful person takes. A successful person gives. An unsuccessful person think a job is safe and investments are risky. A successful person thinks a job is risky and investments are safe. The list goes on, but the point is a successful person has an opposite attitude from an unsuccessful person.

If you want to be successful, the first thing you need to change is your attitude. If you have the attitude of an unsuccessful person, then no amount of reading, couching or training is going to make your successful. Once you change your attitude, things will open up for you.

It All Come Back To You

At the end of the day, it’s not going to me or any other make money online blog that’s going to make you successful. You are the only thing standing between where you want to be and where you wish to be. Stop blaming outside factors and start to take responsibility and change your attitude to that of a successful person. You are the problem, but you are also the solution. Success begins and ends with you.

Awesome!!! 2 driving with John Chow episodes in a week should be often ๐Ÿ˜›

  2. geekmom says:

I get bored with things easily which is why I like the Ronco Blog where you set it and forget it. Really though, boredom, too many things going on at once, not enough time, changing my mind, it all adds up to not being productive. Like if I don’t see immediate results, it’s on to the next thing and with all these thousands of scams or get rich things out there, no one knows where to step next so I just do what I enjoy doing.

  3. Suraj Singh says:

yes john, i completely agree with your opinion, but success is a process but not an event. It comes with hard dedication and innovations

    Hi John,

You said it all just in few words that the difference between successful and unsuccessful people is that they do things directly opposite.

Wherever you stand, if you’re happy with it just continue. If otherwise, you don’t have to change more than one thing. I mean, just one. And that is your attitude.

The attitude to change your pattern of thinking and actions. The successful people

don’t think of earning extra income by increasing hours of work.

don’t see failure as a setback but as an inevitable tool to success. They learn from, and make positive use of their failures.

They are super risk takers, investors lovers who strongly believe in making money with money.

Some of them on intetnet business take online work as an investment and not extra paid job.

Where do you stand? Listen to John Chow and change your sense of direction to meet up with the successful people in making money online.

    John, thanks for sharing this.

Your words are quite insightful, we are all the captains of our ships. We may at times face rough seas but we must sail on until we reach the shores of success. Stay the course.

  6. Great distinction between success and failure. Successful people do think differently than broke people, which is why I hangout here with guys like you for weekly success stimulating tips.. And they do add whey more value to society. “life is a gift. Give something back by becoming more.” -Tony Robbins

Great message. This is real talk. I do at least one thing per day towards my goals. I’m currently focusing on staying focused and not letting anything distract me from reaching my goals.

That was funny job with the fire truck coming behind you… ๐Ÿ™‚ Attitude is everything when it comes to people achieving success.

    Hi John,
You hit the nail right on the head, it’s all about mindset. Get your mindset right then you set to go. Like anything in life it takes practice, and the learning curve can be pretty steep, but if you keep at it you will definitely succeed. That is my problem at present, that’s why I like to visit your website to be inspired. It’s amazing where you started and where you are now. So there it is don’t give up, you will succeed.
    Warm regards,

In any case thanks for we provide stimulating knowledge

  12. Now thats what I call a Blog!

    Fantastico!

  13. KongWing says:

I agree with your post. You need to think what you want to do before you decide to start something. Most starters dont have any desire to run a blog. What they want is money. Fast money, make me rich in one day money. Running a blog is not about the amouth of money you can make. You need to have fun in writing and maintaining a blog. Understand why you are running a blog and don’t even think about making money. If you have fun with running a blog then the money you invest in your 10 dollar hosting is just like going to watch a movie with friends. I know that most starters never have even tried to start to run a blog. They only read how succesfull bloggers are making money and then start dreaming without knowing how they make money. They read things like it is easy to make $3000 a day and get excited.

They read the steps: start a blog.
    Buy hosting.
    Promote or place advertisment.
    Drive traffic to your blog.
Let the magic begin start making money the next day.

Does this sound to good to be true? Yes it is so stop daydreaming and learn how to succeed! Its al about falling down and get right up learn from the mistakes you have made. Learn to understand what other succesfull bloggers are trying to tell you. Do not just copy them and wait for the magic! You need to fall down and get right up before you can reflect things in yourself. Dont blame others blame yourself.

    Nice post John!

  14. Bernie says:

I don’t quite believe this. Years back I was a Millionaire. Then the economy tanked and all
my real estate holdings took a major nose-dive. I filed for bankruptcy a few years ago and we lost our home. We rented and are now in our new home that we bought. But my bank account is usually a big struggle, every day. Chow promotes MTTB and although I like the sounds of it, I just do not have the approx $2000 it takes to get MTTB well off the ground. And I cannot borrow funds. Sure I can get back on my feet but it will be a rather long curve.
I have yet to find a good way to make a good Blog or website (easy and inexpensive).

    1. Nayetta says:

      Bernie,
…sounds like your story is the start of an awesome blog! Plus I’m sure there are some ebooks in all your experiences that someone will appreciate and pay you for.

John has an offer with Hostgator where he sets you up for a blog on WordPress. Send him an email or find that information on this site.

      Take Care!

  15. I have been a success before so my case might be a little different. I’m on the conservative side and cautious on the prudent side based on what I have. Even when I’m driving I stay in the right hand lane I want to enjoy the ride not make it a fast and
furious peel out. I’m dealing with relevant people like yourself and duplicate the
    process. Thanks for the blog.

  16. Dan says:

Yes – definitely have to agree with this John. It’s easy to look past that and blame external factors but YOU are all that you can control. Get your mindset right, focus on the right actions and success will follow!

    Cheers,

    Dan

  17. Great vid and great message John. It’s amazing to me how people tend to blame other people or outside circumstances for thier lack of progress or success.

It’s like you said, the only thing standing in a persons way is themself.

You have to have an attitude that says, “If it’s going to be, it’s up to me”.

Once you can get to that point, then success will be just around the corner.

    Fred

  18. Marcus says:

Thanks for this, John. It was kick up the ass I needed. To be honest, I’m guilty of blaming others for my failures. I don’t know why I do it, but I have. But I see now that the buck always stops with you. If you’re not successful, YOU are doing something wrong, not anyone else.

This has really challenged me, so thanks again!

  19. Karleen says:

Thanks John, for the post and video. I agree with what you said and I am one of those that needs to change my attitude. Sometimes it’s hard, though, when you think you’re doing your best and nothing is happening….when you think you have a strong “why” but the money is still not coming in. It takes a lot of perseverance and patience.

I had to chuckle about what you said about the law – pulling over and stopping. I think there is also a law that says you have to have at least one hand on the wheel at all times while you’re in motion. ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Hi John,

I totally agree with this, it’s all about the mindset. At the end of the day, successful people aren’t generally any different from others in any other way than mindset. I believe anyone can become successful but for most people it definitely requires a change in attitude.

Powerful post, thank you for sharing!

    Laura

  21. Richard says:

    Hi John

Thanks for your success stories. Im very successful.

Why? Because I have a lovely wife, 5 children and 6 grandchildren. They bring joy to my life than any money in this world can buy. Even if I was broke, living in the bush or at the beach with nothing with my children & grandchildren, I would still be happy. Why?

Because were together, teaching, supporting, praying together, looking at the stars at night, fishing by the stream everyday, laughing and smiling.

    Money cannot purchase happiness.

I once heard a story of a young boy growing up with his dad who lived from day to day riding on the carriages of a train. Im not sure what they call themselves. The dad different have much at all, except spending his time with his son each day.

As the son grew, he remembered that fantastic times together.

    Thats what I call success.

Thanks John for your inspiring words.

    Richard

Hello John, nice to meet you, i beginner , how to start internet marketing? what tips do you give to me to start it? thanks a lot

  23. muljana says:

Thank’s John… That is very helpfull

  24. Inga B. says:

Thank you for the video! I do agree that figuring out the WHY in making money can solve a lot of empty efforts. AND that one has to think like an investor than an employee to become successful beyond 9-5 job.

  25. Joseph Collins says:

    John,
Good words at the right time. Things have been more challenging than the norm lately and have been getting a little deficient with my attitude. Thanks for reminding me of one of the most important tools it takes to succeed.

    Regards,
    Joe

  26. Nayetta says:

    Hi John,
Thank you for this post. The thing I like about your posts is that I feel like you partner with your audience by building people. You understand that you have more to give people than just direct tips on building a business. You also help people build their character. Another fine post!

  27. Goldman says:

John, good option that “…An unsuccessful person think a job is safe and investments are risky. A successful person thinks a job is risky and investments are safe…” Attitute is important, however, the process should be to be step by step, and should have a right way suitable to you. I also agreed KongWing’s comment “…Running a blog is not about the amouth of money you can make. You need to have fun in writing and maintaining a blog…” Wishes every online marketer (including myself) can find their right way to succeed and with fun.

  28. Mike C Smith says:

Your are right John, but then you know it. Attitude is the key and too many of us lose sight of the goal and our attitude takes a hammering we vie to the negative, forgetting the objectives we set for our selves, wasting time getting back on track. I know this, it’s where I am at the moment. Viewing your video made me realize where I am and what my attitude is at present, I thank you for sharing, it’s helped me a lot.

  29. precode says:

    Hi John,

You become more and more spiritual and i like this !
I totally agree with the way you think and this post is really interesting and clever.

You are definitively the CHOW Man !!

  30. masรถz says:

Great post John. I realized this point yeras ago and when I compare myself with other people who do not reach goals, attitude is for sure one of the main factors, like a basic requirement.

Of course, on top of it, there has to be other major factors like a blueprint to follow (know what to do) and hard work ๐Ÿ™‚

Blaming others or external factors has never been in the dictionary of succesful people.

    Cheers,

  31. Randy McLean says:

Just what I needed John. If you want something bad enough, nothing will stop you!

If you really don’t believe you can do it, you will be hesitant to take all the steps you need in order to reach your goal. You have to just think “I’m going to do it no matter what!”

And as Karleen mentioned, keep two hands on the wheel! ๐Ÿ˜€

  32. Patricia says:

I’m getting help with getting off benefits and back in to work from my medical team. I asked for help. This all came about after reading all the positive things you have posted about becoming successful. It may take me some time to actually be able to implement your great guidance, but I’m on that road now. I will continue to read and learn everything I can from you John. Thanks for all the positive guidance you have kindly given me. I took action yay!
    Kindest
    Patricia ๐Ÿ™‚

  33. Patricia says:

Hi I am Patricia and I have Crohn’s Disease. I am on benefits, and its’ hard work being sick. I dream about getting a full time job and having a “normal” life.
For the past 2 years I have been learning about how to make money online. I learned the basics of Affiliate Marketing through an online course with Alison.com. All the courses are free! The last few months I have been reading John Chows blog and have learned a lot. He not only tells us how to make money online, he tells us how he does it. He is very motivational and through his words has given me the kick up the butt I needed.
Having a disability doesn’t mean we can’t be successful. It just means we have to work that little bit harder in achieving our success. ๐Ÿ™‚

  34. Right on John. I must say a real key to success online is:
    TAKING ACTION!!!
Far to many never really take the steps necessary …..for whatever reason –
such as Afraid Of Failure which ties right in with what you are saying in this post.

  35. faisal says:

    Nice motivational post there JOhn.

  36. Sergio Felix says:

Well, you can also give driving lessons now John lol

  37. John Meza says:

Hello John. It sounds like you’re taking a shot at me. I signed up for the 21 step training. I reached the end of the 6th step. I applied for a loan from my bank for the M.O.B.E. license rights. My application was declined. I called my credit card and asked for an increase of my credit limit, declined. At the advise of my coach, I tried to apply for a loan through Oak Tree finance. Also declined. After reading your post on me being the problem, I don blame anyone or find excuses why I am not successful. I would love to be working on my business. Right now does not seem to be the right time. I just wanted to start writing a blog and follow in your foot steps. I have heard of you for a number of years. I wanted to see if what you were doing was worth duplicating. You show that through your hard work anyone can succeed. You proved it brother. I’ll try again in the future. Take care.

  38. Adel says:

    Hi, John.
    Nice post brother.
I am very happy to joining with your 21 steps training system, My Top Tier Business (MTTB). I hope to complete the journey to the end.
    Best Regards,
    Adel

  39. one sentences to define the whole article – “The Problem and The Solution is You”, well said, John. Thanks

  40. David Black says:

Always good to watch your driving videos.
You sure must be racking up some miles in that Merc – you’ll soon need a new one!

  41. Phillip G Hudson says:

Great video John. I only have this to add. It was shared with us by the Great Teacher, par excellance,” how so ever a person thinks, so they are”. That’s it in a nut shell. Thanks John. Peace.

  42. Thank John for this Great article. The only barrier to one’s success in life is the person himself. Attitude is about everything. Many people who are successful follow the paths to success and they become more successful because they keep pursuing what can make them successful. You have mentioned the characteristics of successful people as against unsuccessful people. The failure never ready to follow the same road that the successful are following that is why they keep shifting blames.
